What’s the point in attracting better players, other than to have a better chance of winning trophies? Never understood this argument. Football is all about winning, our FA cup win cemented that idea for me.
  2. Have I misunderstood or are UEFA restarting the game this evening? Surely those players can’t play a game of football right now?
  3. Wonder who our big(ish) European opponents will be for the final pre season game
  4. Not sure what your age has to do with it
  5. You can’t claim that people hate VAR ‘always based on their team being shat on’, while mentioning the FA cup call in the same breath? We’ve been huge beneficiaries of it, but I would be delighted if it was scrapped, on principle. my argument will always be: yes refs got things wrong before, but we never spent as much time talking about that than we do talking about VAR.
  6. It would have just increased to 5 in that scenario
  7. To be fair to him Chilwell put in a great performance against Mahrez, his success certainly won’t hurt us attracting talent going forward!
  8. Youri played like he had an extra one put in this season, probably took one from big Wes
  9. I’d forgotten about that one. Hadn’t we just pulled off a couple of really good results only to go and lose to Cardiff in what many described as ‘typical Leicester’?
  10. Jesse Lingard in the community shield was frustratingly good

    Ryan Bertrand

I’m pretty keen for this to happen. Never forget how important a well timed experienced signing can be, see Kevin Phillips, Dean Hammond, Robert Huth, Jonny Evans. Even if Bertrand wouldn’t be as actively impactful as the latter two, I don’t think that’s necessarily where his value would come from.
  12. The fact that they even made them lift the cup like this makes me think it was organised by an arsenal fan
  13. It really pissed me off how the BT host KEPT insisting ‘oh well it’s not the European cup they all want but it’s still a big deal’, like the reason people think it’s not worth winning is comment like that made by Sky and BT!!
  14. I like this better than the CL teams getting a free pass to the same stage as everyone else, never liked that they get rewarded for failure
  15. Something I’ve realised is that I personally am not overly fussed about europa versus champions league, the thing that made me so depressed about bottling top 4 was the label of bottlers we’d get from the media and other fans, and the thought of those people (and plenty of our own fans tbh) trying to convince us that this season is a failure, and that we shouldn’t be immensely proud of what our club has become. But actually we bloody should be proud. We’re the luckiest fans in England, and without the constant bombardment of negativity we get from social media we’d be in dreamland all the time. At the end of the day football isn’t about the results, it’s about the memories we make with the people we experience it all with, and for me NOTHING will overshadow the feeling of celebrating Youri’s goal with my mates and my dad, NOTHING will stop me getting excited about another European tour next season, and NOTHING will convince me not to be proud of my club. Bring on next season, if we’re up in the top 4 again great, but if not all I hope is that I can make more memories with the people who made me fall in love with football in the first place.
  16. I dunno about you lot, but for me football has really dictated my mood throughout lockdown, given that there’s not much else going on, so to lose it in this way really really hurts. Makes the thought of 3 months before next season sound really daunting. I just wish we could’ve won the cup AFTER losing top 4, so that we finish on a positive
  17. Oh hi Marrck
  18. Perhaps it’s unlikely but imagine Youri stepping into Wes’ shoes as the next decade long captain
  19. I hadn’t really acknowledged how consistently strong our cup runs have been in recent years, that’s probably a huge sign of progression
  20. Jesus, these feckers are why I often regret opening this forum nowadays if all you care about is top 4 go support Man City. I’m quite content with the memories made on Saturday.
  21. There's something really 'Leicester City' about only turning up once we've gone 2-0 down, then giving us hope only for it to fizzle out I'm sure that happened every other match in 14-15, ah the nostalgia
  22. Just rewatching BBC's coverage and saw Tuchel and Fuchs having a bit of a friendly reunion - anyone know how they know each other?
  23. Massively agree. Ive always been surprised with how keen people are to see him leave. Think it’s mainly a product of spending too much time on the match thread, rather than his actual performances.
  24. I’ve definitely been doubtful of him at times, particularly in the last few months, but the kind of raw unfiltered passion he showed last night has completely won me over. Not every player cares that much, we’ll be lucky to have him for however long he chooses to stay
  25. I wouldn’t trade this feeling for any bloody top 4 finish!!!!! FUCHING GET IN THERE YOU BUNCH OF BEAUTIES
