Matt Elliott and Steve Walsh are the greatest centre backs (in my life time) Huth and Morgan closely behind them. Crucial goals in all of them mixed with no nonsense old school defending. Evans, pretty classy but not in the same league as those 4.

If £8mil is true that's a bit disappointing but I'm not overly surprised. He's only got one year left and would be on fairly high wages. We could sign 2 or 3 loan players for that, or a couple of decent prospects. Yes but one club are (unfortunately) one of the biggest clubs in the country with a billion pound stadium who are in the premier league and consistently challenging at the top end of the league whilst the other is relegated and rebuilding. His one year left on his contract means we were never going to get his true value.
