Even if we should sign him with the contract signed at the loan signing, Rennes won’t have an issue selling him, and we can’t afford £5 mill so both parties would happily walk away from the deal! He isn’t joining us permanently even for a few days. Nothing ever came to light of Marti comments in January of ‘we have a plan for him for this month’ or something similar?

Souttar needs to prove his fitness, so imagine he stays, him and hopefully Nelson starting cb with Aluko at right back is a positive start. Vestergaard I doubt will go so he can benched and I’ve horrible feeling we will give Lascelles another year! We never learn.

Stage one needs to be first thing Wednesday after relegations confirmed is a list of players being released at when contracts expire, what youth players have been offered new deals and that the ‘senior pros are up for sale’. then we need a manager in place before the end of May(preferably sooner), so they can have a month in post before pre season starts and our signings if any need to mainly be done by end of July to form a new squad. Anyone not expected to be here at en of transfer window, bin them off to a 5 a side on kids pitch’s for training on their own. only players willing to put effort in will be in ‘first team training’. can’t see any of the above or time scales happening though! Sad

The cutbacks have started already, the u18s no longer get breakfast provided on training days. the academy in younger age groups will play more games at home if we get relegated due to the cost of bus hire to transport players. Due to facilities clubs are always happy to travel to seagrave. just a couple I’ve heard over last month or so. Could be a load of rubbish also but sounds feasible.

Briggs must be building a half decent goals and assists contribution for the season now?
