  1. They might hope that the elderly will voluntarily staff it. That way it'll keep cost down and the old folk will have somewhere warm to go now there's no winter fuel allowance. Clever, very clever.
  2. But they would have got wet.
  3. When a team has a pre kick off huddle, you know they are struggling.
  4. Here's some info on what you can install on a firestick @Parafox Some of the apps shown can give you 'free' access to film and sports subscription services, I've been informed. I wouldn't try this though as it is naughty
  5. Exterminate M'Lady. Oink Oink
  6. 1. Fairytale of New York. Nos 2 - 5? Any four 'power ballads' you care to mention.
  7. Does my bloody head in. And if I have to do a simple, one time registration for the BBC iPlayer again, I may lose my presence of mind. With regard to your problem FoyleFox, I have come across several situations like this where the site will not recognise a copy and pasted email address, nor a 'auto complete' one. You need to type in your complete address manually. Try that.
  8. I guess I'm in a minority - I've even apologised to them. We had a spider that kept building a web next our back door and I kept accidently walking into it. Each time I would mutter, 'Sorry mate'. I think it's because I've watched them building a Web and find it fascinating. I might think differently if I was a fly however......
  9. Online forms and having to sign up for an account to contact some organisations. Particularly annoying if you need to inform said organisation of their short comings.
  10. I knew someone who once returned home from grocery shopping with a bag of apples. I was surprised because in the large garden, there was several heavily loaded apple trees. When I asked why she didn't use those, she actually replied that she wouldn't eat an apple that came from a tree.
  11. Probably not restricted to Leicester, but we were often told as youngsters after kicking a ball into a neighbours garden, if it comes over here again, I'll put a bleddy knife through it.
  12. Bruce Willis was a ghost.
  13. Abbreviation of well known folks names in the media, can get in the bin. 6music, after playing a Beatles track this morning, were talking about Macca and J Lens wonderful guitar work.
  14. Just lit the log burner. There has already been a couple of nights this week where we were tempted, including one where I put my dressing gown on over my clothes. It was simply the fact it's only early Sept that held me back - until now.
  15. It isn't. Our British Gas meter has been misbehaving for 3 or 4 years. Like you, we were supposed to get a replacement. However, last time I contacted them re this, they said it was out of guarantee and wouldn't be replaced. Guarantee? It's their fecking meter, I haven't bought the bloody thing. With regard to the OPs point. A university in the Netherlands I think it was, tested all the main smart meter brands and they all gave conflicting readings on useage.
  16. My daughters GP is charging her £25 for a letter my grandchild's school has requested, regarding his dietary needs. I know why GPs can charge for letters but this charge is discretionary and, as it's for a 4 year old childs health needs, I think it's wrong.
  17. Not on the road as such but on the pavement. Fella reverses his builders truck out his drive, across the pavement and then stops to use his phone. Meanwhile everyone walking along the path has to walk around the back of his wagon stepping out onto the road to get past. Inconsiderate cvnt.
  18. Remember that Chelsea fan filming himself celebrating their cup final 'equaliser'? He then carried on filming his look of disappointment as the VAR decision went against them.
  19. worlds strangest looking aircraft?
  20. See you safto. See you this afternoon. Dintno where I wah, or ooo warra wi. Drunk mate explaining he woke up not knowing where he was nor who he was with.
  21. Why are there lots of ads for Haribo sweets on TV late evening? Aren't they primarily for youngsters?
  22. Estonia more like. You used to join the navy to see the world, now get a jail term instead.
  23. Always liked this track by the Monkees. It also has a great intro I reckon.
