Anyone remember when we were 5000/1 to win the league? In other words, we were bookies favourites to go down. I was quite confident we would stay up that season - and so it proved. This coming season however, so many of us have written the season off already. We must be favourites to go back down, this time the bookies could confidently offer odds of 55000/1 on us winning the league and I wouldn't place even 10p on it.

I bet Lens are disappointed after this. I'm sure they would have preferred a more competitive match to prepare them for the coming season.
-
This is an excellent preparation for the forthcoming season.........for the fans. We can start getting used to how things will unfold.
-
It was bitterly disappointing when we were relegated, not least because the club, to all intents and purposes, allowed it to happen. I think they are allowing it again yet, for some reason, I'm totally ambivalent towards it. I never thought I would say that about my club.

My GP wants me to call to arrange a med review. My consultant organises my med and I saw them 6 weeks ago and again next week, so I contacted my surgery to ask if it is really necessary. They said it was as they'll check my blood pressure and weight as well. I said that was all checked too, when I saw a member of the consultant's team. Still need to see GP apparently, the consultant and his team don't share the info with the surgery and they have no access to it. So, apologies. If you can't get an appointment at the same surgery as myself, it may be because I'm having something checked that has already been checked. Rant over.

You could go on their website and open a 'Chat' with them. I have found the operatives on there helpful in the past. Or, just submit a new reading that is only slightly higher than your previous one, where you made a mistake.

Desperate to find a news channel that wasn't covering the democratic gathering in the states, I just happened upon this delightful creature on GBNews, Sophia Wenzler.

This is something Starmer should be really cracking down on.

I realised that as a young child watching the adventures of Robinson Crusoe. Often yearn for the total tranquillity of it still .

Grumbled about this before but arseholes that are starting to put their bags of rubbish next to public bins. Some tw4t put a bin liner full of stuff next to a bin on our local park. Overnight an animal (assuming a non-human sort) has tore it to shreds looking for food, scattering it everwhere. Now birds are flying in and picking through the remains searching for titbits. The litter is now spread over several metres in each direction. Thoughtless morons.

You're not quite 'balanced'. You refer to Muslim men and white trash.

Despite having eaten loads of it in my life, for some reason tonight I wondered what 'Corned' meant in Corned Beef. A quick Google enlightened me: ....corned beef got its name from the dry curing process used to preserve the meat. A slice of beef was covered in “corns” (large, coarse pellets of salt), which would draw out the moisture and prevent the growth of bacteria. -

2 or maybe 3 times. That's how many times I imagine I'll be watching MOTD this coming season. -

You had me going there, you rotter. Only just remembered this friendly was on so just 'tuned' to FT to see what had happened. Yours was the first post I happened upon. -

At least Kane won't be on the scoresheet this time. -
He probably wanted to see the flight deck? Remember when you could do that, back in the day? My 3 children went up to the cockpit on a holiday flight once, quite exciting for them - and me. Remember being surprised that the captain had his feet up, quite literally, on the flight control console.

There has been plenty of destruction, and sadly deaths, through football related violence. Referring to anyone as 'scum' in any context, is provocative. Equally, I'm sure if that word was used in relation to an ethnic group or race - even on a football forum, it would be rightly shouted down. I cannot begin to think what motivation groups of thugs of any persuasion use to justify the current outrages and the ones referred to in my original post on this matter, other than, as I suggested, tribalism. In evolutionary terms, we are still a pretty uncivalised species - some, more than others.
-
Unfortunately, it isnt just a 'one (our) kind' against another kind is it? This happened very recently in Leicester Too much divides us in these folks minds and entrenches their 'tribal' behaviour. Perhaps we should have a degree of understanding into these morons behaviour? We're football fans and this is primarily a football forum - can't get much tribal than that. Folk on here even get away with comments like 'Cov scum' and so on.

That statement makes me see red.
