  1. That's frustrating.
  2. Murphy's actually been a manager before at Rochdale and then Man City U21s. Dawson's always been a coach.
  3. Murphy and King until the end of the season.
  4. I want maximum rodgering in terms of having to lower our wage bill and a transfer embargo as I think we will finally have to prioritise bringing through our impressive academy proteges. Hopefully that doesn't result in loads of them getting nicked for a pittance, if we could actually re-emerge from the ashes with a new blueprint and lean, mean fighting machine approach it could be the making of us. But I'm also trying not to be so naive. Points deductions wise I can't see it being huge (presuming this will be in relation to breaching 2022/23 PSR if they can hit us with that) but probably enough to scupper automatic promotion.
  5. I'd like to profusely apologise for him being my number one pick last summer. This is now two managers on the spin with a massive track record in academy success that has completely disregarded young players in favour of perceived experience that are an absolute calamity. Horrific appointment. Get him gone and give it Murphy and King until the summer.
  6. Enjoyed that. Didn't watch it.
  7. Hard to make a case for any of the centre halves but I think Thomas should have started. Surprised Soumare has been kept in after that performance on Friday, was an embarrassment. Ruud's a peculiar one right now.
  8. Hahahaa I was absolutely nowhere yesterday. Not ran now since Sunday 16th February and I'm beyond livid. Been ill that's scuppered my half marathon and then I've maintained the slump. I'm going on the dot at 6am tomorrow for a blow out, need 15-20km in the bank.
  9. Isn't the expectation that Nelson will go back to Oxford?
  10. Absolutely not hahahahaa
  11. Mic drop from Jordan Blackwell
  12. Is Hamza's loan an obligation if they get promoted or still just an option either way?
  13. It's a refreshing couple of hours entertainment to go at the minute, me and my boy love it and it's the hope and positivity of what the future may hold for these young players that adds to it. A welcome break from what we feel and see at the business end of the club we hopelessly follow through thick and thin. Cartwright is a proper grafter, want to see him get a loan move next season to League One if he's not considered Championship level come pre-season.
  14. I've tried to do a team and I can't, can't bring myself to choose any of the central defenders we own and can't even have blind confidence in the academy CBs like I can with the midfielders/attackers. Suppose I'd stick with Okoli despite his nightmare vs Brentford but the other three right now I just don't want to see the sight of any of them.
  15. Blokes had the likes of Jaap Stam offer his services, although with question marks over Ruud's long term future I can see why we're not desperate to employ more staff right now. Murphy and King will likely stick around post Ruud anyway.
  16. There's no question of ability with Golding IMO, you can clearly see his pedigree from coming through the ranks at Chelsea. He's got lots of technical ability but sometimes you need far more than that to make it even at a low level. Constant rumours about his attitude don't help and hopefully he gets a loan move next season to League One and he prospers.
  17. Also read that several players at PSV complained to the board about his methods 😂😂😂
  18. Think he had a bust up with staff at PSV too....
  19. So as it stands we don't still have an assistant manager?
  20. He's another who we've known about for a while as he came through to the U18/21s when he was 16 and has shown flashes of being a pure goalscorer. He's suffered from a few injuries as well that seem to stunt his momentum but he looks talented.
  21. Briggs is very good. Has been around for a while now rather than part of the U16/18 lot that have come through this season. He's a year below Alves and they are of similar ability IMO. Briggs has seemingly always had a better eye for goal at U21 and U18 level too. I think if it weren't for injuries (one a nasty away from football serious injury) then he'd already be more talked about. But he could well be the pick of the lot, still only just turned 19. Hopefully progresses in to the 1st team with us next season ar gets a loan at least to League One/Two.
  22. Is RvN, a goalkeeping coach, set piece coach, assistant manager and 1st team coach enough staff? Feels lighter than previous regimes where there's usually a few extra specialist roles such as conditioning and analyst etc. King, Hughes and Barry-Murphy have arrived pre and post Ruud and are likely club appointments rather than directly chosen by Ruud and we do need an element of that for succession planning. It's never good when there's nobody left from one regime to another.
  23. It helps having parachute payments for both experienced and up and coming managers. Whoever the manager is next season should be set the target of promotion and failure to do so would require some explaining. But we shouldn't solely base our plans on promotion at the 1st time of asking and worry about what we do in the future once we're up as it won't work. So that's why fans want to see and hear a proper plan with someone who can build and progress which is more logically done with an up and coming manager who's got a potential higher ceiling. Take Scott Parker for example, if he gets Burnley up and leaves, I'd still not want him despite 3 promotions with 3 different clubs. Reason being, and then what? We're relying on the club to be proactive to kick us on once back up but I don't trust that. Without major change off the field, which is needed anyway, but without that then at the very least we need to strike gold with a managerwhos on a trajectory to the big time.
  24. I want someone who's got the bravery to bring through academy players as their number 1 priority. It should be the clubs mantra, Seagrave was a complete waste of money otherwise. We have spent the last decade trying to utilise being the overwhelmingly most successful midlands football club and attracting the best young players from the areas but we have to capitalise on that and maintain the reputation as the club to start your career at. I'd take that as our identity even if it never resulted in us challenging for major honours again. It ought to be a great platform to build a club from than the way we currently are trying to compete anyway.
