  1. Whilst much of this makes sense in theory, we were 2 goals down and I don't buy that Ndidi can't play in the pivot, of course he can. He still leads our team in tackles etc. Him not bringing Skipp on is like him not bringing Winks on vs Bournemouth after being dropped. I think he does it where he can to try and create opportunities afterwards for the players to have a point to prove for being lect out. Skipp has surprised me at his all round midfield play and is comfortable progressing the ball. Soumare is in the situation where it just seems futile him still being used occasionally, but I suppose if we don't and then do need him through crisis and/or unavailability then coming in from the cold is harder.
  2. We were linked with Anselmo García MacNulty in the summer from PEC Zwolle. Seems like a signing we'd have made in the Championship rather than the PL but his profile is the type of player we need for that role.
  3. It was nothing to do with him listening to the fans. Kristiansen was injured, who else was going to play at full back? The fact he changed systems purely to use Ricardo is what bothered me most. I simply don't buy that Ricardo cannot play one of Cooper's standard full back roles. Fatawu had to start, it's madness to think otherwise after a performance like the week before. Cooper will tend to do that when he gets an explosive performance off the bench from a player and that's the correct thing to do. So when you break it down the team was not on the basis of giving the fans what they wanted at all but it's easy to think so.
  4. Hermansen Ricardo Coady Okoli Thomas Skipp Soumare Fatawu El Khannouss Reid Edouard Subs: Ayew, McAteer, Alves, Faes, Ndidi, Ward, Evans, Justin, Vardy
  5. Well considering 3 of our last 5 managers have won something with us that wasn't always a shoe in at other clubs and got a massive pay off or a huge pay rise elsewhere, I think they'd be comfortable taking it over most of the other muck around us.
  6. Is that definitive though. Anywhere else on the pitch, you leg a player up off thr ball or anything and it would be a foul if the ref spotted it. This excuse was given for why Ayew got away with it last weekend and I think it's very ambigious.
  7. Was still by far our best creative outlet bar a few brief glimpses from El Khannouss. Bounanotte made 2 very good passes 1st half that should have been better finished and he'd have been praised for it. Frustrating night though, he's a street fighter who's passionate and you see it with the way he carries himself. Nowt wrong with it.
  8. He's doing really well. Great to see, I like his style of play. A very gifted and technical midfielder who's applying that from defence now which is the modern way. A position we seem to struggle in currently.
  9. I know Jake gets requests to do Only Fans but I seriously doubt I'd be very popular 😂
  10. The three of us are free to record Sunday night. Still trying to digest how abject that 2nd half performance was. So basic.
  11. Sky are going to be raving about Bounanotte after tonight.
  12. You can well imagine he picks that team and we're still the absolute pits 1st half.
  13. Midfield or defence? You could play Riccy as an 8/10 and he'd not look out of place.
  14. I absolutely loved the original Tommy Wright, he was unplayable 1991/92. My reference to him was tongue in cheek for our younger listeners and hosts!
  15. Also I've just done the sports bar with O'Hara and Cundy if anyone fancies a listen.
  16. Just recorded. Will be up soon.
  17. Justin moves over to that position, arguable where he's better anyway. Bit I get your point, we do need to strengthen that area.
  18. Be nice if we could get Alves out to Oxford too. Des Buckingham is such a good coach and being a squad of relatively unknown players is part of their effectiveness.
  19. At the very least I hope his contibutions here (which will be vast this season) encourage our club to step up their scouting and recruitment in South America. It's been largely non-existent over the years except for the occasional European based Argentinian and one exceptionally unlucky Brazilian. We need to explore this market more.
  20. Nelson is as good on his left foot as he is on his right. I think we've made a pillocks of which centre halves we have available for us. Okoli, Faes, Nelson and Souttar at this level would be absolutely fine. Although Nelson will benefit from 30+ Championship games this season and Souttar needs to play. Both should have futures here. Vestergaard I'm not convinced he rates and he's not in the habit of rotating his back 4. Coady has never got off the mark here. Any signing in January to the Central defence should only be a loan IMO.
  21. It'll be a grim game if we take the lead as he'll do everything in his power to ensure we sit on the lead and invite you to try and break us down. We find it very difficult to deal with basic patterns of play, usually down the right side of our pitch and teams can easily work low balls in to the box between the bank of defenders and midfielders for the ball to be turned home. See Arsenal's first two goals and both of Southampton's last weekend as recent examples. Hopefully he's learnt our strengths are to continue to be positive regardless of the result as we do have some danger men in Bounanotte, Mavididi and Fatawu.
  22. Interesting he's playing LCB which was where he got rave reviews at Doncaster playing but Enzo never tried him in that role when Doyle got injured.
  23. Big game for Hoops. Against the club who still idolise him and put himself in a position where another win suddenly propels his position at Leicester to being somewhat secure and impressive from the outside looking in. Said plenty on why he's not had it easy to start here through peculiar decision making and suspect basic weaknesses but he's a moments manager and it feels like he's set himself up nicely to launch himself in to being truly accepted if he gets another result on Friday. This is where I want to see some bravery from him. His team selection and decision making on Saturday was fine. He made the majority of changes that needed to be made and the acid test will be what he takes away from that. The evolution of this team has to include Fatawu and still maintain the threats of Mavididi and Bounanotte. He's slowly testing us with more creativity in the team with the introduction of El Khannouss too and he can be under no illusion that our strengths lie in attacking rather than containing as we're vulnerable at the back not from aggressively attacking quite strangely. So many goals are coming from low crosses between the bank of 4 defenders and the defensive midfielders. Let them loose Cooper.
  24. I don't think Cooper rates Vestergaard and Coady is destined not to contribute much here. I think Nelson comes back in the summer and will challenge Okoli and Faes and be heavily involved.
