Yeah and it'll make it all the more galling this time around as we've absolutely destroyed them 9-1 deploying a team devastating on the counter. That said Abdul didn't come on until we were already 4-1 up away there but his performance at home vs them was arguably the best individual performance from any of our players last season. He was unplayable. I hope Cooper gets asked about that because I'd be fascinated to understand his thinking if he does indeed go all turgid. -

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Ric Flair replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Never seen an attacking player have less shots or create chances since Okazaki. He did extremely well because we had high output machines like Vardy and Mahrez but given Cooper's system attacks with only 4 players going forward, rather than 5 like we did under Enzo and one of them is a master at hiding then it's no surprise we prop up the table on shots and chance creation. He should be nowhere near this starting eleven. Impact player at best. Exactly what I called out in the summer is happening, he was never going to be just a squad player. -

99.9% sure we're recording tonight. -
He got 1 injury in February after his herculean performance away at Leeds. Other than that he was rested for only one game. Even being subbed he only went off 3-4 times and most with less than 10 mins to go. His body held up well last season and his lack of use this season is a disgrace.

Development/Youth Squads 2024/2025 Thread - U18/U21
Ric Flair replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Quite surprised the U18s have dropped off recently. Possibly doesn't help that Evans has moved up pretty much all the while with the U21s and Hutchinson has been injured for over a month now. -
Agreed and we've seen this in the two games we've taken the lead in. In both games we were largely impressive until we dropped off and invited the pressure on to us. Bournemouth were far better 1st half than Palace but we were good for the lead and I'd say ought to have had a penalty as well as Vardy's fluffed chance. Bournemouth had a few chances but it was 2nd half where it'll be a mystery to the neutral how they didn't at least equalise let alone get a winner.

Southampton vs Leicester (A) - October 19th
Ric Flair replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
The irony is, the reason we destroyed them home and away last season was not because we retained possession extremely well, it was because we exposed them trying to do that and hammered them on the counter attack. This should be right up Cooper's street but I've a feeling that whilst Enzo had Brussell's number and always would, we'll somehow lose easily against this struggling Brussell team. -
You're absolutely right. It should only be used as an indicator. We are fortunate we have an excellent shot stopper so I'm not hugely concerned with us having to snuff out chances for the sake of it, that's why I think we should be braver in attack.

International Break Blues Anyone ?
Ric Flair replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in Leicester City Forum
Spare a thought for Ghanaian Leicester fans. -
He brought Soumare on to play higher up the pitch though and we already have Winks who's a defensive midfielder. Alves or McAteer on the bench over Soumare any day of the week.

International break paradise more like. -
I like him, not had a defender as natural or able to block the ball since Wes Morgan.

I'd be fascinated to canvass other views within the game on that but I'm not so sure it's correct. I liken Allen to the old school type of manager who was in control of everything and would not react well to a Director of Football having a media influence within the game. Whilst you don't want that to get in the way of the requirements, neither should such an influential position not require a level of front facing accountability and communication. -

Apologies once again for no pod this week, we'll be back after the Bournemouth game. I've been working on getting some decent LCFC past and present players lined up for future episodes and may have something in the very near future to look forward to...! Also myself and Jake are running the Leicester Half marathon next Sunday and have set up a fundraising page for the brilliant LAMP charity we represent. If anyone could spare any loose change we'd be so appreciative and/or if anyone will be there on the day to participate or spectate. I know of a few other posters on here.... https://www.justgiving.com/page/ricflair-1726899797911?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Fricflair-1726899797911&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share Cheers 💙 -
The amusing thing for me is the two most hyped up young strikers in Euripe outside of the main leagues were Edouard and Daka in 2021. We now have them both. Could we be about to land on a cheat code or defy science that both are absolutely mingin' ?

U21s are away at Blackburn at 7pm. Awaiting team news. Monga hat-trick -
I think Edouard and Daka in a front two will be peak Cooper. Maybe with Ayew in the hole.

To be fair people from Derby think parsley in chicken kievs counts as one of your five a day so they'll definitely view this as a global event. -
Bournemouth (H) Pre match thread (05.10.24, 3pm)
Ric Flair replied to Nolucklcfc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Never known anyone waffle on about the prestige and difficulty of being a Premier League team. This is not to diminish the gulf in class between the standard but it's nowhere near as elite as is made out and I have an inkling that being obsessed with such a view actually hinders what is achievable. Paying far too much respect and being in awe of what it takes coming down from the manager. It's boring Steve and don't patronise us. We've proven as a club what's possible, it won't wash with us pal.- 476 replies

Any idea of the team? A lot of the U16s from last season have already moved up to U18s and even 21s after their PL Cup title achievements.
