The main reason I'd recall and send to League One is so that come the summer we already know what he's like at that level too and thrn we can decide if he's ready to make the step up again to the Championship. He stays there the rest of the season and guarantee you the usual suspects on here will say he needs to then go League One.

Rinse and repeat with Lorenz Hutchinson between U18 and U21s. I can almost understand the difficult position with Evans despite not agreeing with it but I'd be fascinated to hear from someone within the game and in particular close to the pathway in the academy as to the thought process on Hutchinson.

They have spent extraordinarily well, better than newly promoted club in many a year, however the basis for which they rebuilt was on academy players and cleverly scouted young players for very modest fees, even those that might depart will likely turn a decent profit.

Hmmmm on Sunderland, they had a few years making mistakes but building a young side that was the platform to eventually get up. They got in or close to the play-offs on a few others occasions. I don't think we are comparable at the minute anyway because our rebuild and blooding of youngsters is only just started/if at all and we are coming from higher decline. Theirs whilst was from the same decline, was over a long stretch that more resembled us post 2002.

Said this on a different thread but to overturn a 3 + 6-9 point deficit with 25 games to go would require 2 points per game average and that is a tall order.

It's been quite telling he's not come on now for a number of games and is probably only on the bench because of injuries. Ayew can't play 90 minutes every game and Cifuentes has not given Evans a single minute yet so it's surprising that Carranza has been allowed to go further cold when we might now need him. This all points to him going back in January, probably straight to the MLS as its not really worked out for him in Europe.
