Great news, now have the bravery to follow through with including him in the squad.

Don't particularly recommend running through Bermondsey/Surrey Quays/Deptford when Millwall are at home. Very fcukin stressful. -

Anyone else massively disagree with knocking off x amount of minutes theory from a training run for race day? I don't think it makes any difference unless you've got massuve crowds thst simply won't let you give up. Most of my best runs are training runs where I feel good on the day and just smash it. Don't think i've felt good once yet when it's come to doing a race so that's quite possibly why 😂 -
Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

Yeah I agree to be fair. This is nothing new with Ayew, you know exactly what you're getting with him. Can be useful but you do not have him as a focal point of the team week in, week out and expect a pantheon of goals. -

The bloke scores 4 goals a season and is considered a forward, he's in no position to be critical of his team mates missing chances. Got one of the lowest goals to games ratio of any attacker/winger/creative midfielder in the last decade. -

There's a lot to unpack here. I could be equally as facetious and say this borders on " typical bumflufferies from a football hipster " but I shan't. I recognise the tactics of a false 9, or a striker who's main strength is holding the ball up from deep and creating the space. If deployed correctly, then it can pay dividends. But it requires more than just that from the false 9. You don't then not rejoin the attack and that's my main criticism. Whether he's unable or unwilling to attack the box I do not know but it's something we need to figure out if he is going to continue to be picked. First 5 games, the lack of dynamism from the on rushing midfielders was plain to see. Yesterday was mildly better with James looking to break through and I felt Fatawu and Mavididi (then Monga) had more of the ball in 1 v 1 situations than previously this season which requires better movement from the 8s/10 with the 9 to pull the defence out of protecting the full backs. Ayew just is not mobile enough to play the false 9 with the squad we have. There's no coincidence we are currently mid table in goals scored. If we had a KDH to score 15+ off such hold up play then we might get away with it but we don't. I need to look in to Cifuentes track record a little as I have a suspicion his teams don't get the striker role right that often. He never had a goalscorer at QPR but wonder if it was the same at Hammarby and Sandejford. -
I have complete faith Mavididi will come good again. I remember the criticism around him in March/April 2024 and then he went and scored two massively crucial goals at home to win us both games vs Birmingham and Norwich. Will happen again for him.

A goal is coming, chill out. Always been a streaky player, he'll come good again.

The correct answer.

Worth pointing out that Cov class themselves as being an utter disgrace at defending set pieces as well, like LCFC 2021/22 and 2022/23 bad and look how pathetic we were at them today against them. Scuffers
-
Not another club in this league with worse players at taking corners and free kicks. Another example of how off our strategy is from recruitment through to on the field. It's a fundamental part of the game and minimal thought has been put in to it from us since we lost Maddison and Tielemans.

All good pal. Nice to suggest a player that aint the absolute pits for once 😂

He's also barely had a shot, the amount of times he's attacked the box is pitiful. There were times today he was closer to right back than our box when we were in the final third. Unacceptable. You wouldn't praise a player filling in at CB if they never held the defensive line or marked players, so not sure why Ayew gets praise for dropping deep as a striker but not ever being interested in the core element of being a striker. The few qualities he does possess are nullified anyway. His hold up play does nothing for us as we haven't had midfielders going beyond him, hopefully that may change. The other is he wins free kicks regularly and we are quite possibly the worst in the league at delivering set pieces, it's embarrassing. The frustrating thing as well is Ayew is an ever present, so we can't even rely on a period of unavailability and us be able to prove to the manager we are a better outfit without him. The summer of 2024 really was a horror window. -
Their fans are raving about him.
-
You've had a howler son. He's absolutely flying this season, whilst our creativity is absolutely mingbeast.
-
I thought today was a marked improvement at getting the ball to them more, probably due to James off the ball running but still not helped by Ayew waddling about 30 yards behind play and not creating any space for them to drive at the defence.
-
Was our best player 1st half, good full debut but way more to come.
-
I'd say that is a questionable take but even if there was an element of truth in it, he has the potential to be much much better than them both and managers will sometimes place the development of a major talent on the job to evoke the improvement more quickly. Anyway he proved last season he is very good at this level whilst both Vestergaard and Faes proved they are not up to the PL so why risk failing to cultivate a future England international for the sake of these pair? Disappointing from Marti on our academy players so far but i'm not surprised. Cowardice.
-
Be interesting to see if we look a more cohesive unit in defence and attack with that midfield. Probably 85/90% of the team i'd have picked. Obvious criticism of the bench. Called it two weeks ago that our academy players would invariably vanish, disappointing.

For all Soumare's faults, he could have the most aggressive form of sleep apnea and still be less of a liability than Oliver Skipp

Naaah its probably 90/10 Leicester but 10% is extraordinary given how tin pot they are in general.

Just had my first wine. I'll put the effort in and I expect nothing less from my team. A rallying call for the cabbage soup and knife and fork to eat a sandwich brigade. If there's one game I ask you to have a pulse and soul, may this be it. Head every ball, do sliding tackles in the concourse and spend the £100 you reserve for the club shop every other week for Carling Premier. COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS
