If Leicester City didn't exist anymore
Izzy replied to Leicesterpool's topic in Leicester City Forum
I couldn't/wouldn't support anyone else. I'd just be a casual/neutral that watched the odd PL and England game on TV I think. Probably play more golf or spend time gardening if LCFC didn't exist. -
M&S is the only place to go if you want slippers that not only look good, but are hard wearing too. My current pair are coming up to a year old and still going strong. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Set the fire alarm off at 3am please

We put a wood burner in a few years ago and it made a big difference in reducing our electric bill. It heated most of the downstairs but we only had a small house. It was also a ball ache cleaning it out every morning and making it again every night but it gave out good heat. We ended up spending a lot on logs every month but still significantly less cost than using the electric radiators.
-
Our old house originally had storage heaters (no gas in the village) on economy 7 We ripped them out as they were big and bulky and replaced all with Haverland electric radiators on a fixed 24/7 tariff. Big mistake. At one stage we were paying over £500 a month electric bill for a 3 bed terrace. They cost an absolute fortune to run. If we’d have stayed there we’d have replaced them with either new modern storage heaters or got an oil filled tank in the garden.

You’re not considering the wider ecosystem mate. You need to pivot your thinking

We did SF about 25 years ago so I’m sure it’s changed a bit since. The Golden Gate Bridge was spectacular and Alcatraz was pretty cool. The 49 mile drive was nice and the food in China Town was amazing. Only downside was lots of homeless and smack heads if you end up down the wrong streets. If you get the chance I’d definitely go.

In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes… …and waking up to another England collapse down under

You can say that again

For one off jobs I’ll always ask friends and neighbours who they’ve used in the past and were happy with. If I hear the same name recommended a few times I’ll tend to go with them even if they’re a bit more expensive or I have to wait a bit longer.

Exactly right. My builder has only bought in specialists who he’s worked with previously and knows their work is of a high standard. The fact they all know each other is hugely beneficial. I sense this game is all about trust, referrals, and good working relationships.

It’s just really heavy rain here. Wetter than Stevie Wonders toilet seat.

And I find that if you go out your way to make an effort to look after these guys and show appreciation for their work, they go the extra mile and sometimes do a few added bits as unpaid favours in return. Treat tradesmen with respect and they’ll reciprocate in my experience.

We’ve been renovating our house for the last 5 months and I’ve had at least a dozen different tradesmen in that time coming and going - all brought in and co-ordinated by the builder who’s project managing everything. I’ve been fortunate to take the time off work to be here permanently and oversee everything and only had one no show so far (genuine illness) I’ve found the best way to get them all to do shit is keep them constantly fed and watered. The kettle is permanently on and I know exactly how they all take their tea and coffee. I also make them all bacon baps at lunch time and always offer chocolate and biscuits. All this plus putting on thier favourite tunes and talking football all day means I think they all genuinely like being here.

Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)

I’m Stokes biggest fan but calling ex England legends “has beens” is a bit disrespectful really. -
Worth a watch. I rate this bloke.

Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list

I think it was a Sony. He broke his previous one by whacking a tea towel on it trying to kill a fly. -

I sold him a TV when I worked for Curry’s on the old ST George’s retail park circa 1996 Nice bloke from what I remember -
Yeah, nothing in my handbook either, I only found out about expiry dates through an online owners forum. I guess the manufacturer hopes you'll get the Adblue topped up by their mechanics at every service rather than DIY so they don't mention it. If I were you, I'd join an online/Facebook forum for owners of your particular car and search to see if anyone has had the same issue and what the resolution is. I hope it's not too costly for you
-
Can't say I've tried Wynne's but worth a go. My car takes Adblue and I didn't realise initially that each container is stamped with the date it was made. Apparently the older it is, the more likely it is to crystalize. No surprise that most places that sells Adblue tend to put the oldest date at the front of the display, so I now always go to the back of the shelf and check the date to get the newest one. I also only top up 5l at a time now. I used to buy 10l but it could be six months before using the rest by which time it's probably past it's best. *and I guess most people already know all this

What a dogshit game that was last night.

Two separate issues I think. IMO LIV going to 72 holes is pressure from their players to change the format so they can gain OWGR points. The Ryder cup issue is more a legal thing between Rahm, Hatton etc around paying the DPW tour fines to still be a member of that tour too and therefore still eligible for RC selection. It’s all a farce.
