As a purist, I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the worlds best get kicked in the nads for once.
But Burns proved yesterday that there is a score out there if you put it in the right spots.
I'm not keen on the Oakmont revamp though and removing all the trees does make it look a bit bland (plus no water anywhere and having to cross over a motorway)
The US Open is the one week a year where you've just got to accept that everything is a bit extreme (green speed, slopes, rough length, par 3 length etc.)
