West Brom (H) 2-1 Post-Match Thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree to some degree, but I do think he is pretty starved of options since Casadei returned to Chelsea and we didn’t replace him. We have Dennis Praet who has been wanting to leave for the last 3 seasons, Yunus who isn’t the right player when defending a lead. Truth is with Alves and Braybrooke, both working toward full fitness he is very limited in his options, although McAteer might give a similar profile to Wilf. -

Very similar to us in this 10 or so game run, missed countless good chances to win games. If you don’t take your chances you get punished. We can’t moan/criticise about losing games because we can’t finish our dinner but then say we are lucky when the opposition do the exact same. -
I think because of previous misdemeanours, some find it difficult to distinguish that you can think he is a bit of a helmet at times but also praise when he plays well, make no mistake yesterday he was superb, when he is on it he is also a very good defensive midfielder, personally on Tuesday I would keep him in the team, but play the Winks role as he gives us more protection and is definitely quicker in transitions, bring Riccy back into the inverted role and push Winks further forward alongside KDH. I think there is a real player in Hamza but especially in this style you need to be playing week in week out, it’s difficult to come in for a game or two. If given a run I think we could see a very different player, he also needs to knuckle down off the pitch and start to show a level of maturity.
-
I think he has been superb for the majority of the season, understandable that there is a dip at some stage if what is a gruelling schedule, he has played pretty much every game and usually plays the 90 minutes well. My only concern is whether he provides enough protection to the defence. Excellent player in possession but out of possession I think he is a bit lightweight and lacks the physicality and presence, I would like to see Hamza play there alongside Ricardo and push Winks further forward alongside KDH particularly against teams who will attack us more.

I said the same to my lad, he has been very impressive since joining West Brom, so would be a great addition if we could bring him in next season. I know he used to be in our academy but I also liked the look of Kipre. Also if Enzo was to leave I would definitely include Corberan on any new manager shortlist .

We rode our luck but dug deep to win that, we have had some right old sucker punches recently where we have missed sitter after sitter and beaten by a cracking goal. Hamza was absolutely magnificent, that was as good a performance I have seen from him, would be good to see him build on this now. -
I think I will watch from behind the sofa, if those 3 aren’t available it’s going to be a tough watch
-
Just shows the absolute car crash of a club we are behind the scenes, it was clear as day that Iversen was never going to get a look in given how we want to play and the fact it’s a real weakness in his game so not cashing in and getting £4-5m in to help the finances is absolutely mind blowing.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Claudio Fannieri replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
Absolutely superb, best one yet and Ric in full flow, i knew it would be a classic when jefferies was dropped within the first 5 minutes, and then at the end sniffing Saddam Hussain’s undercarriage and poo sniffing are a new all time favourite 😂 whilst ably assisted by Darcy who had some terrific cameos i thought Jordan summed up the situation perfectly and Jake does a superb job as lead presenter. the last week has been so depressing results and performances wise but the pod does a great job of not only lifting the gloom but also capturing the mood of the fanbase. Keep up the great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 -

Such a shame that both Braybrooke and Alves have been unavailable for the majority of the season as I think if they had been fit and available I have no doubt both would have been heavily involved in and around the 1st team. One of the things that Enzo has been really good at is giving academy players opportunities and for that reason it would be great if he can turn this around as given our financial situation, our ability to utilise our academy will be critical over the coming years. -
Union FS - Tifo for Jamie Vardy
Claudio Fannieri replied to Union FS's topic in Leicester City Forum
The club seemingly doing their very upmost to keep alienating the fanbase I am at a complete loss as to how they are so far removed and disconnected. So so frustrating we have gone from being a model club to an absolute embarrassment in such a short space of time. Utterly heartbreaking stuff. -
I have seen a lot of social media posts calling Ipswich lucky for the amount of late goals and deflected goals they have scored, however i disagree I think it’s more a reward for the mentality they show, they are not afraid to lay siege to the goal when needed which then leads to mistakes and deflections etc. I don’t necessarily have an issue with our style of play, however it’s the lack of tempo and intensity that frustrates me. I cannot remember the last time we scored a lucky deflected goal after laying siege. Even at 1-0 down we are still trying to create the perfect chance, and that becomes harder and harder the later the game goes on and the deeper the opposition are, you haven’t got the space to create clear perfect opportunities so in last ten minutes in about getting balls into the box to create mistakes and deflections that lead to goals, balls directed hard and low into congested areas can cause havoc in final few minutes but we never try it. On Friday even though in the last 15 minutes Plymouth barely left there own half we had made two like for like subs and kept the exact same formation, we didn’t need a defensive midfielder at that stage he could have thrown on either Cannon as the extra striker or even Yunus to play as a 10 either side of KDH and Praet, in place of Winks and given Plymouth something different to think about, but we didn’t and as a consequence barely laid a glove on their goal.
-
Should be nowhere near the team, has largely been poor and lazy when played, this seasons Tielemans, the guy has literally downed tools. After his Ipswich cameo on Boxing Day I really wouldn’t have been arsed if I ever saw him in a Leicester shirt ever again. The only players who I feel should feel slightly aggrieved by lack of game time is Coady and Canton, whilst Wanya and Albrighton may feel a bit frustrated that they haven’t been utilised more after decent showings in cup games.
-
Only way Top redeems himself from this absolute shit show is to sack Rudders and change the profile of how he wants us to play and let’s build our own identity rather than try to be a poor man’s tribute act to Man City.
-
I would wait to the end of the season by which time i honestly think Enzo will walk regardless given we are such a basket case. The dream for me would be Nige back as DoF to rebuild the sports science and scouting departments, with Wellens as Manager, plays decent football but also has a bit of steel about him and has done his managerial apprenticeship in the lower leagues and bring Kingy in as one of the coaches. Honestly think if we stay down even with a group largely consisting of academy products, plus Coady and Vards (who I would offer one last year as a sub and rotation option and mentor to Cannon) and some clever recruitment we can build the next generation.
-
That is my fear too, I honestly think had we stayed up last season, I think the club would have been up for sale, as you say not a hope in hell anyone of any sanity buys us for what KP would want in our current state. Highly likely to start next season with a significant points deduction, a potential June fire sale of any half decent players to try and avoid yet another breach and deduction, and then to try and attract new players within very tight budgetary constraints of the quality that will not only make us competitive but also be prepared to join a club that will be in a dire relegation battle or starting the season with such a significant disadvantage that makes promotion virtually impossible, it’s hardly going to have suitors banging down the door to buy us
-
It won’t happen but would love to see us try 4-2-3-1 and focus on players who are committed or shown desire. Anyone like Faes, Vesty, Kels, Praet, Wilf and Daka etc leave them out and go with a squad of players who will give everything for these last 4 games. Like I say no chance of it actually happening by the way. Hermansen Ricardo Coady Doyle Justin Winks KDH Fatawu Yunus Mavididi Cannon Subs Stolrcryk Wormleighton Nelson Braybrooke Alves McAteer Wanya Albrighton Vardy

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll
Claudio Fannieri replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s clear Enzo has no intention to change or mix things up the last 2 games have proven that, So I can foresee a parting of the ways as soon as the season concludes regardless of whether we somehow manage to get promoted. It feels to me Enzo’s stubbornness, plus the off field issues has soured his relationship with the club and fanbase. However here’s lies the problem, who takes over, for everyone hoping for a shift in direction, it’s highly unlikely as the owner and Rudkin are hell bent on this playlng style despite the fact it has contributed to our relegation and very likely will contribute to us blowing promotion and see us languishing in the EFL for some time to come. We have to hope and pray that there is either a change in strategy that sees us move for a manager who plays a higher intensity style or in the summer we have clear out from the very top to bottom and start again. This style is not sustainable, we are not good enough to be the Man City tribute act and we need to find our own style and identity rather than just try and replicate somebody else. #Fearless my arse needs to be changed to #Fearful -
Too be fair pal you are everything I want to see, 11 players giving absolutely everything, a manager kicking every ball and the crowd roaring you home. Truth is if we turned up and match the endeavour and work rate of both Plymouth and Millwall then we should win, but we didn’t and too be fair both teams showed top quality with the goals scored. You fully deserved your win last night. Of course it’s frustrating too lose games we are expected to win, but at same time we should show respect to each and every team, truth is we have been tactically out fought and out battled in the last 2 games and we got exactly what we deserved, as did Millwall and Plymouth. well done and good luck for the remainder of the season, I have a feeling we will be locking horns again next season.
-
1-0 down and at no point did he think it was worth turning to Yunus or Cannon who will both be fresh and would have given us some attacking impetus. Piss poor and weak mentality.

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll
Claudio Fannieri replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
If he does go then Rudkin has to go too and we need to change the style. I love to see us playing good football but most importantly I want to see high tempo and high intensity, we have transitioned into a team that is so easy to play against. I hate what this club has been become we are the complete opposite of fearless. -
Another absolute honker of a performance, at no stage did we show any desire, intent or character. Fair play to Plymouth and Millwall who have sweat blood to win, I would love our lot to show that level of intensity.
-
Not sure it would happen but I would play Hamza in the high 8 role and give Wilf a rest, whilst not blessed with amazing technical ability, he does bring energy and intensity and i think his pace in transition will also help. With Hamza playing higher up the pitch will help us press and give opportunities to win the ball in attacking areas and opportunities to exploit our attacking players and pace to hurt Plymouth. my team would be Hermansen Ricardo Coady Vestergaard Justin Winks Hamza KDH Fatawu Mavididi Cannon Subs Stolrcryk Nelson Doyle Faes Praet Ndidi Yunus McAteer Daka i don’t think it will happen mind you and I think Daka will start and Cannon will be nowhere to be seen, but given some of the fitness issues that have been mentioned, then in think this brings about some rotation.
-
I think Cannon has been suffering with injury, whilst he has now come back he is currently going to be battling for the 2nd striker role on the bench as I feel Enzo will continue to rotate Vardy and Daka as his starters, personally I would put Cannon on the bench in place of Kelechi for the rest of the season.
