  1. I am a massive advocate for promoting the academy players and giving them 1st team exposure, however I would also tend to agree that now is not the time. I know Mavididi has been poor and not pulling up any trees but when you compare Mukasa’s 5 goal involvements in 3 championship games vs Monga who has 3 in 22 and Page who has 1 in 19 it is a sensible decision. I am not criticising Monga or Page, who are both unbelievably young to have played the number of games they have, but you can see they are just that bit further behind in their development and physicality so are not having the impact on games or the output that Mukasa is. The experience they have gleamed so far will be huge but I think to rely on them in a relegation battle could do untold damage to both the club and the individual players. It would be great to see them both get some decent minutes from the bench in games where they can come on against tired legs and positively impact the outcome. In Aluko’s case I think he will more likely get minutes once Vestergaard or Lascelles return and he can play alongside a more experienced central defender, as currently Okoli and Nelson are both relatively inexperienced to be guiding a young full back through the game, especially at this stage of the season and given our defensive frailty.
  2. Was absolutely superb last night but also so frustrating that he went missing for most of the season.
  3. It was a real shame he made the mistake for the equaliser because other than that he was superb. Made so many blocks and interceptions. Too be honest I noticed it a lot last night where as a team we make some hairbrained decisions to try and play out in very tight spaces and in dangerous defensive positions and often give the ball away and end up on the back foot. Mavididi, Fatawu, Ayew and even Mukasa were guilty of being dispossessed deep in our own half trying to dribble out rather than clearing our lines. Hopefully this is something Rowett changes quickly, as it’s no wonder we concede so many.
  4. What a player, such a clever talented footballer and for 18 has a good physical presence. For a player so young he oozes class and confidence. Will be a massive player for us in the run in.
  5. It’s very early days but so far he has already had a positive impact. We look much more of a team and the work rate, especially last night is definitely more noticeable. We really need to grab a win on Saturday to really kick start the run in and give everyone a much needed boost and additional belief and confidence for the remainder of the season. He reminds me of Brian Little and Micky Adams, sets his teams up to be very solid, efficient and effective. He simplifies the game, it feels like our tactics had become too technical and over elaborated. I think this will be critical in the predicament we find ourselves in. Whether he offers enough to be considered a long term option remains to be seen. But the here and now is all that matters and I think he offers us the best chance of survival.
  6. In fairness to him he hasn’t really got any other option, and we can’t run Daka into the ground.
  7. Good point and decent performance, no complaints from me. Skipp absolute immense. Winks excellent just a shame he hasn’t been that player all season. Back 4 were really good tonight. Promising signs and fair play to Rowett, 3 solid 45 minutes out of 4
  8. It just goes to show how poor how recruitment has been when we scout and sign a player who is better in a 3 and is a bombscare in possession and we sign him to play in a flat back 4 and a team trying to play like Man City …….and we wonder why we are in the mess we are in 🤣
  9. Read my post again, I said retaining our model would have meant we would have been more stable and sustainable as a club I never mentioned success. we took a gamble to not sell an asset and paid top wages this led to players running down contracts so we had less saleable assets or value reduced. This has meant financially we were committed to long term expensive contracts that have massively hamstrung us.
  10. Read my post again, I never said we wouldn’t have had a downturn, I said if we had would have been better placed to go again. We massive overspent on wages and stopped selling players at profit to reinvest which has financially crippled us.
  11. If nothing else our model should have given us long term sustainability and stability, even in the event of relegation we should have been well placed to go again. The club had its warning about grossly overspending and not having a coherent plan or strategy after Sven and had seemed to have learnt our lessons, the recruitment under Macia and Puel was top drawer and had laid such solid foundations. The fact that here we are now standing on the brink of relegation to league 1 & financial meltdown after a points deduction for PSR breaches and yet we have barely any saleable assets that will raise big money says all we need to know about the leadership of the club and the lack of both business & football acumen.
  12. Sums up how shockingly poor our recruitment has become, epitomises the weak mentality of so many of our signings over the last 5 years and the lack of due diligence or research we carry out in terms of personality, character and background. our recruitment has become so stale and lazy.
  13. I was really impressed with how he turned things around at half time but wha the actually feck did he say as his pre match talk because we were as flat as we have been all season. You would hope that first 45 minutes would have been high intensity and high energy everyone up for it and positivity under the new manager. Which does make me worry once the novelty of Rowett has worn off does this rabble revert to type.
  14. Let see if Winks maintains the levels he showed in that 2nd half for the remainder of the season. Let’s not pretend he is blameless in all of this. He downed tools at Preston away, ducked out of 50/50 tackles away at Charlton, his “performance” against Sheffield United was sabotage. That isn’t on any of the managers that was on him, he can’t control tactics or the performances of his colleagues but he can control how he plays and his attitude. I am sure JJ has been frustrated but he doesn’t down tools. His antics, performance levels and lack of professionalism throughout large parts of this season has been symbolic of the deep rooted issues at the club and as a senior player and supposedly one of the leadership group that js unforgivable. He is as destructive and disruptive as Faes or JV have ever been, so why he is ever given a free hit by fans is beyond me. Yeah for 45 minutes yesterday he decided to turn up and show he was arsed, that is the bare minimum he should be doing week in week out not withstanding his ridiculous wage. The forgiveness he is being shown after how he has behaved on the basis of one goal. a celebration and one half of decent football sums up why so many are accepting of our current position.
  15. Ruud looked amazing in his first two games then it all went to 💩
  16. Cifuentes was to blame for us not challenging for play offs but Aiyawatt and Rudkin were also to blame for sacking him and not having a plan and throwing King under the bus
  17. I don’t think we would have the financial mismanagement we have seen in the last 3 or 4 years and the massive disconnect between the club and the fanbase
  18. No the 6 point deduction due to the financial irresponsibility and mismanagement by the owner and his senior team is what will send us down.
  19. I am not criticising Rowett and fair play to him for the 2nd half performance but I didn’t think it was transformational and overall yet again another game of 2 very different halves. Speaks more that he has got a massive task on his hands to get any sort of consistency out of this group.
  20. 2nd half was much better but we have played well for 45 minutes in so many games this season, however that 1st half was appalling and we could have been 3 down. Nice to see a good reaction at half time but we have drawn to a an injury ravaged Stoke side and only bothered to turn up for 45 minutes. There are some positives but a long long way to go.
  21. 1st half was a disgrace, however fair play Rowett got a reaction in the 2nd half but make no mistake we were lucky not to be 3 down at half time to a depleted Stoke side who should have been there for the taking. Whilst we by and far and away the better team in the 2nd half once we got in front we had to close out the win. Lots of positives from the 2nd half but let’s not think we are home and hosed, it’s far from it as this was a very poor and injury ravaged Stoke side. There was 3 points for the taking and we have blown it.
  22. Disgusting performance, complete lack of energy and intensity, this was a bad as anything under Cifuentes, this squad are literally throwing the whole club and fanbase under the bus. Is there anybody prepared to stick up for Aiyawatt, Rudkin, Glover or this squad any longer this is an insult to Leicester City Football Clubs 142 year history, this current mob are an absolute 💩 stain on the club, they are taking the piss and putting the entire future of the club at risk. Get the lot gone tonight. Had my fill of each and every one of them.
  23. He does it every time, gutless and sums up this squad
  24. What the actual feck was that corner
