And your point is? You mean a Leyton Orient side that should be nowhere near the play offs in that division after also getting them promoted from league 2.

Wellens for me

LCFC and the Communication Void
Claudio Fannieri replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think most fans are sensible enough to understand that certain sensitive information cannot be shared for public consumption, however the club could and should have released a statement, accepting this season was nowhere near acceptable on and off the pitch and a full and thorough evaluation is underway and assuring supporters that everything will be done to put things right, blah blah blah -
If and it is a big if, the club are genuinely holding off until the 1st July to sack Ruud then given BBM is leaving, then they have to have the new management team in place ready to go from the 1st as well otherwise the start of pre season and possibly even the 1st couple of pre season games could be under a very small coaching team of Andy King and Andy Hughes, supported by academy staff.
-
Couldn’t agree more, I think that will become his role in the future, appointed mid season by a club in trouble and then in post for about 18 months before the club moves him on for a more progressive appointment, rinse and repeat.
-
it was a bit sarcastic given we were blamed that Cooper didn’t work out due to his Forest connections

I really am struggling to understand why anyone would be gravitating towards Sean Dyche, given our current squad and circumstances he is the absolute opposite of what we need right now. His style of play and philosophy does not fit with the club or our playing staff, we are crying out for a progressive coach who can build a team around the academy and young hungry players. Dyche is so far away from this, some liken him to Pearson, but he is nothing like him, Dyche’s answer to being progressive is to make players train in shorts and shirts in middle of January to replicate match day, he is a yesterday’s man, the game has moved on. For me he is more of an underdog manager not the man for a progressive club with a £100m state of the art training ground and a flourishing academy system. Which is why I will keep saying it Richie Wellens is the man we should be bringing in, young, progressive, plays a good brand of football and has worked wonders at Leyton Orient with largely young players to take them from league 2 to within 90 minutes of Championship football, he knows the club and has worked under Pearson so knows what can be achieved at this club within a good structure. He is the type of manager that would commit to a long term project and would be the type that you could see still being here in 3 or 4 years time to bring back stability and continuity to the club.

LCFC - Family Night Football memories/photos?
Claudio Fannieri replied to Ryanlcfc3's topic in Leicester City Forum
Absolutely but was listening to the price of football podcast yesterday and they were talking about how traditional season ticket holders are being viewed as an inconvenience as premier league clubs see the tourist/day tripper fan as a better income source. However this then backfires horrifically if relegated as day trippers aren’t that excited about midweek games against the likes of Swansea and Middlesbrough etc. Maybe our lot should take a listen, they would do well to remember football is nothing without the fans, especially genuine dyed in the wool supporters. -
Hence why we ended up with Cooper as the alternative to Potter, there is zero strategy whatsoever

Guess work or genuine information?

Ex Forest pair …….

Does make me wonder if this will give us the wriggle room to move on RVN before the start of July.
-
If BBM is the internal candidate could this force the club into taking action quicker.
-
Wilder wouldn’t be a bad shout. Has extensive experience but the advantage he has over Dyche in my opinion is he has a decent track record of promoting young players especially in his 2nd stint at Sheffield United.

It was reported that BBM was holding off from giving a decision to Plymouth as there was another opportunity, this looks to be it, so maybe the internal candidate @Wymsey alluded to could be Kingy.
-
It has definitely gone very quiet which would suggest that the club is going to wait until 1st July before making a change, which means highly likely that BBM, Kingy and Andy Hughes will take charge of the early pre season unless we announce Ruud’s departure and his replacement on the same day.

Clubs don’t submit bids without sounding out the players representatives first too see if there would be interest, therefore I think Norwich would have received some encouragement. Maybe Mads is staying so Jakub is being sold to help with PSR. Maybe the rejected Norwich bid is being leaked to generate further interest, I think a few prem clubs may be interested as would be a decent back up option at a very reasonable price.
-
Exercise our right to extend his contract then this rejected bid is made public, selling Jakub would be pure profit, could see him going to a newly promoted prem side or even mid table as a decent back up for anywhere between £5m-£10m

Foxestalk opinion: Next manager
Claudio Fannieri replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
I voted for Wellens, think he has a touch of the Pearsons about him, works well with young players and can work within a tight budget. he won’t cost us the earth and think he would be perfect to come in and implement a 3-5 year project. -
I wonder what is holding the club back from launching the new kit, we are fast approaching the holiday season and a time when fans want to buy the new shirts so as in keeping with what appears to be the standard, there is radio silence from the club. Launch the home kit in June, away kit July and 3rd kit August and that should keep the tills busy until after Christmas. I really don’t understand why there is such a wall of silence surrounding the club across everything, it’s almost like they are willing to cut their noses off to spite their faces, because some of the fans have dared to question what the hell is going on.
-
I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if it ends up being Carrick, available knows the division and plays a style akin to what Top likes, develops and promotes younger players and would cost zero compo.
-
Wrexham’s journey has been incredible, however I think the step up to the championship will be a massive challenge, they will need to bring in quality which will cost big money and then you have the wage disparity with the existing squad, think it will be a tough season to navigate and wouldn’t be shocked to see them in and around the bottom 6. I can’t see Phil Parkinson making it to Christmas, and can see Steve Cooper ending up there.
-
Great listen and couldn’t agree more, what it shows is Rudkin is DoF in name only, he is nothing more than a glorified football administrator. The club has failed to move with the times, we are desperate for a forward thinking Sporting Director to come in and completely rebuild the club.

Odsonne Edouard joins on loan - Official
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
This shambolic deal sums up everything that is wrong with the club, to pay a hefty loan fee and cover his wages for a full season and barely play a player who was requested by a manager who was given way too influence on recruitment, especially when the club had reservations about Cooper, just further demonstrates the complete lack of any coherent plan or strategy, and yet again i will say, people still try to defend it . We didn’t want to pay a release fee to bring in either Corberan or Rohl but more than happy to throw money away on a player who literally played a handful of minutes.
