  1. Reckon Brendan will be giving Spurs the big come and get me but think it will be Thomas Frank.
  2. Rumour is McKenna, which probably would mean Ipswich would be interested in Rohl and I would have them as a more attractive proposition to us at the moment.
  3. There aren’t any examples I could find but I think this is due to the ever changing impact that PSR is now having however hopefully the below helps crystallise why i think this could happen in next few days - waiting until after the official share transfer in June (when relegated clubs formally become Championship clubs) can potentially reduce or restructure a manager’s termination payment, depending on the terms of their contract. Here’s how and why: 🔍 1. Managerial Contracts Often Contain Relegation Clauses Premier League managers typically have contracts that include relegation-related clauses, which: Reduce salary upon relegation (e.g. 40–60% pay cut). Cap or reduce termination payments post-relegation. Change the notice period or payout structure depending on division status. ✅ If a manager is sacked after the club is officially a Championship club (typically in June): Their lower post-relegation salary applies. Any payout clause based on salary multiples or remaining contract value becomes cheaper. Some contracts may convert to Championship-specific terms, giving the club stronger legal footing to terminate more economically. 🧾 2. June Share Transfer = Technical & Financial Reset The EFL and Premier League share transfer marks a change in legal and financial status of the club. From that point, the club is officially governed by EFL regulations. Internal accounting may also shift budgets, forecasts, and obligations tied to league membership — allowing cleaner financial decisions, including severance. 📉 3. Mitigating Cost Under Championship Conditions By waiting until after: The club could argue the payout is based on Championship wage terms. Any performance-related bonuses, often tied to Premier League status, would be void or excluded. There may be sponsorship or parachute payment factors influencing the timing of costed decisions. 🔄 Real-World Application: While many clubs sack managers immediately after relegation, others wait until June or early July to ensure they: Finalise the share transfer. Complete internal budget resets. Use relegation clauses to reduce payout exposure. ⚠️ Caveat: This only applies if the contract includes those relegation clauses. Not all do — especially for short-term appointments or managers hired late in a relegation battle. Without such clauses, payout would be calculated on full contract terms, regardless of league status.
  4. I didn’t say it would happen today what I said is it could happen quickly after today as we are now officially a championship club and therefore contractually the reduced pay off could kick in. We cannot compare ourselves to other clubs as we will be in very different PSR positions, however a greatly reduced pay off may well make it viable to sack Ruud after today’s date and not have to wait until 1st July.
  5. As I previously said it depends on the wording in his contract, if it stipulates his pay off is dependent on what division we are in then today is absolutely significant.
  6. Julian Stephan is interesting QPR I am sure he has appeared on a few shortlists on here
  7. Would also point to the fact Ruud is leaving
  8. ……And if you can just post this picture of me on social media that should really send those helmets on Foxestalk into utter meltdown 😂
  9. Harder to shift than a stubborn skid mark
  10. That is exactly what clauses do, hence why our players now have relegation clauses that reduce their wages by a fixed %. Likewise a manager will except that if the club is relegated his wage and pay off reduces accordingly. Many termination clauses will be performance linked so if you drop or finish outside European qualification or relegated or even position linked the pay off is adjusted accordingly.
  11. It will very much depend how the termination clause of his contract is drafted, contract clauses are usually pretty black and white and very rarely open to interpretation unless it is poorly written (Premier League PSR 😂). therefore if his compensation clause is X as a premier league club and Y as a championship or EFL club then it could well be a very significant date and enable the club to sack him with a reduced pay off. however it will also depend on the PSR position, but I still have an inkling that we will start to see some positive activity in regards to the managerial position over the coming week.
  12. The reason I think we will hear something over the next few days is that now we are officially a championship club that will mean the wage reduction clauses kick in which would reduce Ruud’s pay off which would also reduce the risk of breaching PSR, in addition compensation for Rohl reduces, however given the chaos at Wednesday maybe we believe we can get him by negotiating a reduced release fee given they must be in some sort of breach of contract and it will be getting to a stage where Rohl could legitimately walk away and no or minimal compensation payable. it depends how close to the wire we are but if it’s that tight, it makes no sense to continue to delay as it will have more of a detrimental impact to next season which could be far more costly.
  13. Now we are officially a championship club I have a feeling there will be a managerial bomb dropped on social media in the next 72 hours.
  14. Frustrating that we wont pay compensation for a manager who effectively is the person to set the whole tone of the club and yet have no issue spaffing big money on shite like Skipp, Ayew, BDCR and Eduoard. Absolutely baffling mindset from the club.
  15. Well now we have officially become a championship club, I think if anything is going to happen it will be in the next few days. Personally I think the club have been waiting for this to happen before engaging with Ruud as contractually any wage reduction clauses will kick in from now and therefore it will potentially be a lot cheaper to pay him off from now. I imagine the decision to get rid of Ruud was made sone time ago but the club will have been given legal advice to hold off until a certain point in time when the pay off would be greatly reduced and therefore minimise any PSR implications.
  16. I can see us being all over Carrick, decent if unspectacular manager, plays good football and has a good reputation in the game, plus now he is cheap.
  17. The links to Rohl are definitely increasing so let’s hope once our championship place is confirmed on Friday we then start getting busy. I reckon once we officially become a championship club we will see a lot of activity as clauses will become effective from this point.
  18. Wow his time at Burnley is quite some time ago and I cannot believe the fact he lives locally is a consideration these days, if this is our criteria then the pool is just going to keep getting smaller and smaller. How uninspiring and if true sadly shows the lack of ambition and progressive thinking we are so desperately in need of and further demonstrates just how stale the current decision makers are, we are crying out for new blood and fresh ideas. It feels like we have gone back to the managerial shortlists of 2015-2018 it is utterly depressing what an absolute shitshow we have become.
  19. Might also impact Ruud as well, we officially become a Championship club from Friday which maybe when this cuts kick in from which would also mean if Ruud was to be sacked after this date his payoff would be significantly reduced hence why the club are waiting to formally inform him and announce his departure.
  20. Well it definitely wasn’t Ben Grist as he has just announced signing for Boston. Wonder if they may be from the younger academy groups below the lads playing at PL 2 level. If anyone has a team group photo they can post of this years u18-u21 I may get to the bottom of who it was 😂
  21. Wonderful work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
  22. It looks like it’s this seasons training kit just don’t want to be a complete bellend and fanboy and ask him 😂😂
  23. Strange question but anyone know who is squad number 53 as I think he is staying in our hotel on holiday
  24. I think it makes sense for Riccy P to move on, another high wage earner off the books and another one of our better players who feels the time is right for a new challenge. It does also highlight now just how poor this last season has been, Vardy called it a shitshow and Riccys statement also gave the impression it has not been great behind the scenes. Clearly just like the fans, the cracks are appearing now with established long term players such as Vardy, Riccy and possibly Wilf all leaving this summer. Whilst it’s sad to see these players move on, I feel it’s time and provides a real opportunity for the reset that is so desperately needed, I just hope the club are working away in the background to undertake this rebuild, rather than what I fear is happening, which is a whole lot of denial and ignorance to the task at hand.
  25. As I understand it Daka was on about 7k per week and he managed to snaffle a contract of about £70k per week. He could have been given half of that and it would still have been an unreal deal but given scope to be able to move him on if needed.
