  1. What a horrific showing, literally the whole group has thrown the towel in. Season over, Ruud gone tonight, Rudkin to follow and start the rebuild.
  2. Wow he has kept the same wide attacking players, so we have feck all pace to hit them on the counter and no quality to create, our Ruud isn’t helping the situation is he.
  3. Whilst it may be a PR stunt and deflection tactics, I am delighted he is involved always been a model pro and has a real affinity with the club, what is not to like about this, offers continuity as highly likely he will end up like Stowell where he is a constant across a number of managerial teams at the club. Whilst the timing raises suspicions, it’s good to have him rather than seeing him turn up as a coach at another club. Strikes me as the type who will have a very good coaching / managerial career.
  4. Great episode as always, what I love about the pod is even in the crappier times the content and discussion is always constructive and delivered respectfully, rather than just having a mindless rant and vent. Keep up the the great work as it really is a cracking podcast 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
  5. Wow, this club really is something else at the minute, it’s ability to stoop to new levels of incompetence whilst continually isolating the fan base is absolute elite level buffoonery. Quite simply we are no longer a football club with its supporters and community as the heart of it, we have a become a franchise based in Leicester, a brand that is only interested in generating as much commercial revenue as possible, “fans” are just a number now, ready to be replaced by a day tripper, tourist or new customer happy to pay for the Matchday experience. What is difficult for us as genuine supporters is its very difficult to turn your back on the club, badge and name of Leicester City as it’s in our blood, but this club bears no resemblance to the Leicester City I recognise, the shift in mindset and approach has basically placed a massive disconnect between the custodians of the club and the supporters who have invested their hearts and souls into the club. I will always be a Leicester City supporter I bloody love my club so much it hurts, but that doesn’t mean I will necessarily continue to be a customer whilst this board continue to operate in a manner which treats its loyal supporters with such disrespect and show little or no empathy or acknowledgement of personal circumstances. I am ashamed that my club operate in this manner.
  6. The issue is if Ruud has genuinely been lied to about funds in January and the ability to bring in his own players then has the damage been done, is the relationship damaged beyond repair, I really cannot see how Ruud stays beyond this season, it’s just a matter of when he leaves rather than if.
  7. As others have said, the issue isn’t Vardy, it’s the fact we are literally running him into the ground by starting him in pretty much every single game we can, I was actually shocked to see him omitted from the Man Utd cup match,. The fact that we have no real viable alternative to start games and give him a chance to stay fresh and therefore more effective js such a sorry state of affairs and sums up the current situation at the club.
  8. It’s a really strange position to be in, as I actually think we got the two appointments the wrong way round, we gave the fire fighter Cooper a summer transfer window and pre season to waste and then hired RVN who is clearly one for building a philosophy the job to come In and try to turn the tide mid season and by the way give him next to no reinforcements. Ruud would have been the better appointment in the summer and Cooper the mid season saviour. In truth do we stick or twist, personally I would like to see Wellens given the job in the summer and for him to oversee a complete rebuild that focuses on utilising our academy prospects as much as possible. The conundrum is do we stick with Ruud for now and then change in the summer or do we make a change and make a short term appointment for the rest of the season, given somehow we are still in touching distance of getting out of the bottom 3. If so you are looking at someone like Big Sam or a Dean Smith type appointment on a short term incentivised contract. I also have a horrible feeling that Russell Martin will be our next manager.
  9. Another absolute PR own goal clusterfcuk from the people who run this club, every day there is another bit of news that leaves you shaking your head at just how disconnected and fragmented this club has become from its fanbase, as others have said we are no longer fans, this is no longer our club, we are customers and that is it. such a sad sorry state of affairs but remember be careful what you wish for …….
  10. You should stay to the end of the game and miss the traffic 😂
  11. You could see the drop off as soon as he came off, maybe not the player he was 3/4 years ago but still head and shoulders above the dross of alternative options we have in that position. He is genuine premier league quality and last night showed he is more than capable at this level if deployed in the correct way.
  12. What a wonderful footballer, an absolute gem of player in an utter steaming turd of a team. He barely wasted a pass last night and some of his close control in tight areas was superb, for a player so young his ability to dictate play is way beyond his years, and his work rate is phenomenal. I think he leaves for £40m+ this summer and will go on to have a very successful career at the very top of the game. Whoever scouted him deserves a massive pat on the back, as he is the dogs bollocks of a player one of a very few shining lights this season.
  13. Last season was a Rolls Royce in possession in a team that was set up to dominate and control the ball however out of possession he always looked lightweight and this has been further exasperated at premier league level where his lack of pace and physicality is even more exposed, also given we don’t control the game in the same way I kind of see him as a nothing sort of player, offers little in terms of defensive numbers and offers no real goal involvements. The issue with our midfield is that at least Ndidi is a destroyer where as Soumare, Winks and Skipp are all vanilla players with no stand out quality, so it’s really difficult to see what any of those 3 actually offer in terms of either defensive structure or providing any meaningful link between defence and attack, whilst offering some sort of creativity.
  14. I think the issue we have is that Cooper and RVN are polar opposites in their approach and tactical set up and we actually need someone in the middle. Cooper was horrific, the football was turgid and we offered zero in the way of any meaningful build up play, style or ambition.. With Ruud there is a definite style of play and at times we do play some decent stuff, however I am not sure after the summer recruitment and spaffing £40m on players like Edouard, Skipp, Ayew, BDCR, we have been left with a very average squad of players so as soon as we have to sub or lose a player of genuine quality then we are scratching around to replace them with mediocrity and you cannot play that style with mediocre players especially against premier league teams The reality is last night he had to make changes, Ndidi couldn’t be risked for the entire game, the fact his options are wank are not of Ruud’s making, however some of his decisions are baffling, maybe Skipp as a destroyer would have been a better option than Winks, keeping both BDCR and Ayew on for as long as he did and not giving Monga and Mav an opportunity to run at a tiring back line which were exposed to counter attacks and bringing Woyo on but at left back when he should have come on at RB and given JJ a rest, as Garnacho was the real threat for them.
  15. Mads Woyo Faes Okoli JJ Ndidi Soumare Facu Bilal Mavididi Vardy
  16. Thats what I am saying, had we had some sort of threat in wide areas who could exploit transitions then we could at least have had the chance to hurt them on counter attacks, we never created anything because we were too deep and had no threat out wide as Ayew and BDCR haven’t got that in their armoury.
  17. All great points pal, especially the Mads one, it’s the biggest glaring weakness he has even last season in the champ he looked like a rabbit in the headlights when it came to commanding his area and dealing with set piece balls coming into his area. Not suggesting he is dropped by any means as he is a wonderful goalkeeper but Stolrcyrk wouldn’t have conceded that, whilst he is nowhere near as good in his distribution. His ability to manage his area and how he deals with high balls into the dangerous areas, he is head and shoulders above Mads in this particular case.
  18. Really struggle to see what he offers to justify starting a game and even more so, when in latter stages of games and we have the chance to counter and manipulate transitions. Honestly think both him and BDCR had done their jobs by 55 minutes last night and should have been replaced by Mavididi and Monga or McAteer to hit them with pace on the transitions, honestly believe that game was for the taking and we could and would have scored at least one more.
  19. I thought he was excellent last night, whilst he might be as progressive in his passing like Vesty or have the ability to carry the ball like Faes, the big difference is he can defend, he is aggressive and actually looked to be a bit of a leader last night. His performance, alongside the return of Wilf was the real positives and for me we have to build the defence around Okoli, next season him alongside Ben Nelson would be a pretty decent pairing. Hopefully move on Faes in the summer and reinvest in a new defender that can challenge the two and we are in a far better position. I really like him as a player and a character.
  20. The pod is brilliant but understand it must be challenging to try and find a different way to say the same thing week in week out. Is it worth doing another episode inviting fans on to give their opinions and thoughts, you did it after the Blackburn cup game in the relegation season. Might be a good way to plug the gap whilst Jordan is away and also keep it fresh and offer up some different viewpoints and debate.
  21. The biggest problem was not what we paid our best players but how we remunerated some of our “squad” players, when you put it into context we were shelling out around £400k per week …..£20m per year in wages to Daka, Soumare, Hamza, Ward, Vesty and Bertrand, absolutely criminal that is the problem. compounded by also deciding to shift away from our supposed model, elite level financial mismanagement.
  22. We live in Preston, so the 6 hour round trip makes home games an expensive experience, last season it was great as we were in the championship so a lot of games stayed as Saturday 3pm kick offs plus we could pick and choose games we wanted to go to, we had memberships for a good few years. We loved our day trips down, me the wife and our 15 year old lad, we had such a great time and it felt like we regained a little bit of our club again, Enzo had that NP aura about him picking up a club on its arse and bringing a new wave of optimism and professionalism, it felt although it would be a long road back, we had least had a plan. However after the debacle of the final game of the season when we barely got to see the team or players parading the trophy, instead the family stand were greeted to watching a day out for KP family, friends and influencers, it really felt like we were nothing more than customers, who should be grateful to share the experience, kindly delivered by KP. Then the absolute shambles of a summer and any feel good factor had gone, off field decisions didnt help allay the feelings of a huge disconnect between the custodians of the club and its supporters, we took the decision to not renew our membership for the season. As I watch the season unfold it is exactly the right decision we made, I love this club unconditionally, every time I come back to Leicester it brings back memories of going to watch as a 6,7,8 year old lad at Filbo cheering on players like Andy Peake, Larry May, Steve Lynex and Gary Lineker etc However nowadays as much as the love for my club will never die, there are so many things that I don’t like about it and the people involved with the club, our club that they see as their plaything, or just a job to them, here to manipulate and control narratives to maintain their own agendas or players here for a payday with no appreciation or respect for the fanbase and what this club means to them. We are the lifeblood of this club, we were here before and will be here long after this group of owners, directors, administrators and players have moved on. I will and always will support Leicester City Football Club, my club, our club, our city and one day our club will win back its soul. But we as fans can play a massive part in this. Sing more and more retro songs, buy retro tops not from the club shop, sing we want our Leicester back. We had some wonderful times under KP and for those memories i will always be grateful, but so much has changed we have become stale and lazy, a club that no longer appreciates its fans, but more see them as customer, only interested in increasing revenue per head and not caring if they lose the die hard fans along the way. I am not entitled, I just want my club to make me proud, not only on the pitch but off the pitch, make me as a supporter feel important and part of the fabric of the club, and yet here I am at this point feeling nothing more than a number, someone far less important to the club than say a corporate day tripper or a friend or family of KP.
  23. I will be amazed if the club appoint Rudkin as CEO, more likely he will becoming group Sporting Director overseeing all of KP sporting interests, which makes hiring someone like George Friend who is a relative novice and fairly unproven in his role to date, the perfect solution, as it offers Rudkin the perfect person to control and maintain the status quo of him having total autonomy without having the challenge from someone who is a more experienced operator. He will become Rudkin’s man so grateful for the opportunity that he will likely toe the line and be more then happy to accept the norm.
  24. I will be very shocked and surprised if he is still here for the Man United game, why put yourself in the position of going back to a place where you are idolised to highly likely get your arse handed to you on a plate, and all for an owner and board who have thrown you under a bus and given you a £2m right back and said now go and save us, I honestly think he will be gone by the end of the day especially off the back of Saturdays mauling.
