Also, worth mentioning that there are managers in my lifetime that would fall into that category had they left earlier. Micky Adams and Rob Kelly spring to mind. Both saved us from complete disaster but ultimately the club was a basket case at the time and neither spell ended well.

Cardiff City are 9th and only three points off the play-offs. That's crazy. They were one of the worst teams we've played this season.

I don't know if you've noticed but it's January in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is cold in January, meaning that most people wear coats when they are outside. Most coats are black or navy blue. In fact, if you were to look around the stadium you would see that the majority of people are wearing black.

If they've got any sense they'll go for someone like Mowbray. The question is, do they have any sense?

I desperately want to get out of the championship. There's alot that I can't stand about the premier league but I want this club to be the best it can be. The championship would be very depressing of we were plodding around lower mid-table like we were in the mid-2000s. Us being in the Premier league is also the best way to ensure that we attract the next generation of Leicester fans.

It's funny, in my time following the club the only managers that I could say undoubtedly left us in a better place than they found us were O'Neil, Pearson and dare I say it, Puel. Despite us nearly going down I'd argue Ranieri belongs in that category too because he undoubtedly raised the profile and grew the stature of the club.

I hate that I grew to loathe Rodgers. Had he left in the summer of 2022, I'd feel much more goodwill towards him, despite him having made some shoddy comments prior to that. I can accept him not getting results as a football manager but the way that he behaved in his final eight months in the job was a disgrace.

I'm not suggesting that we're too big to be in this league but we're a premier league club in all but name. Our stadium (especially with the expansion on the horizon) is premier league standard. Our fanbase in terms of size is premier league standard. Our training ground is comfortably top half premier league standard and we have a handful of players that are premier league and others that are potentially premier league standard. Additionally, in recent years only five of the top six clubs have won more major trophies than us.
-
The top five in the championship now will be the top five come the end of the season imo. It's just the order that I'm not sure on.
-
Imagine what this team could look like if we had a striker that was good at holding the ball up and linking the play. That for me is the number one priority should we be promoted.
-
Although it's nice to see how highly other fans rate us, I think they are wrong that they put in a decent performance. They're one of the only teams that we've played this season that looked completely beaten from the first whistle. They're not far outside the playoffs and in the first-half inparticular, they looked completely in awe of us. We are a side that can be got at and the first-half of that game looked like a training exercise for us.
-
We seem to have a real habit of taking our foot off after getting opening goal and we start to get sloppy.
-
This is very one-sided. Only a matter of time before Southampton take the lead.

I understand that, but in cricket the ball is dead after every ball, ditto tennis. Both sports are highscoring so points, runs, wickets etc. Don't usually get the eruption that a goal does in football. My biggest issue with VAR is that it robs us of that feeling, especially when the checks are taking minutes.
-
In terms of spectacle it tends to work better in those sports because they are generally highscoring and there are more regular natural stoppages.

Ipswich (A) 1 - 1 - Boxing Day - Post-Match Thread

I was someone who didn't think Ipswich played as well in that game as the pundits and Ipswich players/manager made out, mainly because of their first -half performance. I certainly didn't mean it in an arrogant way. However, they were much improved in the second half and did put the pressure on in the final 25 minutes or so. I felt that we didn't cope with that well enough. When you're playing away from home against a team close to you in the table, you need your centre-forward to put himself about, put defenders under pressure, hold the ball up, win free-kicks etc. but Iheanacho was very poor for us. I'd have taken a point before the game. It's obviously disappointing to have conceded so late on. -

I actally thought that Ipswich were quite poor for much of that game, especially in the first-half. You can tell they are very well coached, especially with how well they move the ball through the thirds, but I felt that in the first-half they seemed really subservient and paid us a lot of respect. They didn't create any clear chances until the last twenty minutes or so, but I felt that was due to us losing control and making some very stupid decisions. Credit to them for how well they've done and they're not going away anytime soon. However, I really felt that we threw two points away, although I'd have taken a draw before the game. -
It's more that their fixture list over the next two months looks like perfect whereas ours is far from ideal whilst having Afcon to contend with.
-
Southampton worry me. They are on a brilliant run and their fixtures over the next two months are very favourable.

My family are watching Ghosts and I'm not the slightest bit interested, so I'll say my piece now. The thing that amazes me the most is how short our fans memories are. The great escape and the title-winning season were not long ago. At those times we'd sing up if we conceded a goal and there's no way that anyone would leave early. We saw the difference that could be made by having a siege mentality and everyone on the same page backing the team. No one should know thos better than us! Covid football was even more recent. In those times, when supporters were not in thr stadiums, we saw how home advantage basically siezed to exist. Supporters make a difference. Unless we are three or four goals behind with minutes to go, stay until the end and support your team. We will all be better off for it.
-
All of the underlying data suggested that Preston's results at the start weren't sustainable. I think truthfully they're just a mid-table championship side.
-
I went with no. I'm never confident with Leicester. I also think our fixtures in the second half of the season are more difficult than the first with us still having to play Ipswich twice, Cov (A), Leeds (A), Sunderland (A), Cardiff (A), Watford (A) etc.
-
I had to check that this was true, but it is... Steve Cooper has a win percentage of just 21.8% across his 55 games managed in the Premier league. Given the amount of money that's been spent, that's very poor. You can see why they've made the change.
-
I think we could utilise him far more. We have conceded some sloppy goals from balls into the box and I think he would help us deal with them more effectively. Also, he'd provide a threat from set pieces at the opposite end, which we should be looking to capitalise on give how many corners we have during a game.

These are 6 bookings away from a suspension. After round 19 it moves up to 10 bookings for a suspension.
