Certainly the strongest it's been at the top. Some very poor sides at the bottom though.

I thought they'd do well, but not this well. I thought they'd be like what Bournemouth were the last time we were in the championship. They were a newly promoted side that finished just outside the play-offs playing good football under a young manager but you could see that they were a club on the up that looked like they were on the up. I think Ipswich will finish on 90+ points this season.
-
I get that. I just think from a sporting perspective it would be fairer that the final promotion spot is determined by performance over 46 league games rather than being decided in one off games. AsI said, the play-offs is far more exciting though. Even when we were doing well in the Premier league I loved watching the championship play-off games.
-
As an aside I do believe that from a purely sporting perspective it should just be the top three that go up, like it was back in the day. I do accept that the play-offs are far more exciting though.

Leeds have a very favourable run-in. Apart from Coventry their remaining games against the top 8 are all at home where they have been formidable. If we can get a point at Leeds it would be big. A win would be enormous. In order for Leeds to hit 100 points they'd need to go unbeaten for the rest of the season and win 12. I can actually see them winning 12 of their remaining games, but they may come a cropper in one or two games. Southampton still have to play West Brom, Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds away from home but their recent form has been outstanding. When I've watched then recently they've looked recently they've looked the complete package. I'm not ruling Ipswich out just yet. If they fail to beat West Brom at the weekend then I think it's going to be difficult for them. One thing I'm certain of is that the 90 points, which is the normal guarantee of promotion will not be enough this season. I think that all of the top four will reach that. I think it will take a minimum of 95 points.
-
I agree they shouldn't be ruled out yet. However, if they pick up 25-30points between now and the end of the season, that will only be enough for fourth place. They need to pick up 35 points as a minimum.
-
The run of games in late February through to March are the concern for me. Leeds QPR Sunderland Hull Southampton If we can pick up a minimum of 8 points from those five fixtures then I think we should promoted. If we pick up fewer then the chances are we will be letting the chasing teams back into it. It's more testament to the form of Leeds abd Southampton as much as anything. It's going to take an obscene points tally to go up automatically this season.
-
It certainly won't be enough this season. Leeds and Southampton will both get 90+ points, Ipswich probably will too.

Second half away end was brilliant. Even the first half wasn't bad.

Excellent win. A word in the away support, I thought it was so much better today. Lovely to see such vocal backing for Enzo.

I have serious Leicester trust issues.

Watch us lose away at Bristol City.

Italian clubs are skint mate. They probably wouldn't pay him the salary that we are.
-
Mate during lockdown I watched the Liverpool vs Newcastle game from 1996 which is considered a premier league class between two of the top teams in the league and I couldn't believe how bad it was. It makes me laugh when people wax lyrical about the Arsenal and Man United teams from the 90s and 00s when in truth the Man City team of today would rip them apart.

What a Difference a Decade Makes ... Same Results, DIfferent Vibe
BenTheFox replied to KingsX's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think you need to remember that in 2013/14 we'd spent a decade out of the top flight, which included four years of stagnation and relegation to the third tier. Then came the King Power takeover over where we were spending big under Sven trying to get out of the league to no avail and then of course there was Deeney Day. In 2013/14 we finally saw it all come together with a manager and a group of players that made us proud to be Leicester fans once again. It's still my favourite season following the club. -
Our atmosphere has gone to the dogs ever since they stopped doing the half-time relay races with The Birch. "GOWON TITCH!"
-
At this stage last season 69 points would have you 23 points clear of third! Granted, other teams around us have played a game fewer, but it shows you just how relentless the top four are this season.
-
It's become clear to me that Enzo doesn't trust many of his squad players. I feel as though that game against Wednesay at the end of November where he made those changes and we were dreadful has sown the side in his mind. Hopefully things will be better when Abdul and Ndidi are back.

There's a lot of disappointment in the Ipswich Post match thread. I do think it's worth mentioning here though that it looks like we have a serious player on our hands.

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich Post Match Thread
BenTheFox replied to Muzzy_no7's topic in Leicester City Forum
I accept that we're not going to win every game and we were up against a side in Ipswich who are where they are on merit. I've said that if Ipswich get promoted then McKenna should win manager of the season. If Ipswich were to drop off significantly, it would have happened by now. I am however feeling nervous about the rest of this season. We still have to go to Leeds, Hull and Sunderland, as well as having to face Southampton at home. How nervous I am feeling is testament to the relentless pace that the top four have set. In any other championship season we would be totally out of sight with 66 points from 28 games. 90 points in the championship has never not been enough to win automatic promotion, but it's looking all the more likely that it won't be enough this season. I think we will need at least ten more wins to get promoted. -
They've literally won an FA cup before.
-
I'm taking absolutely nothing for granted. I can never be overly confident with Leicester and we've got some of our trickiest fixtures in these final twenty games including Coventry (a), Ipswich (h), Leeds (a), Hull(a) and Sunderland(a). The way I see it that 10 more wins probably sees us promoted automatically, 12 wins probably sees us win the league (and with over 100 points) and 14 wins guarantees the record. 90 points has been enough to guarantee promotion in every season in championship history. However, I'm convinced the required points total to confirm promotion will be higher than ever before, given how how many points the top four have racked up.

He's not referring to "Vichai had a dream". He's referring to times when we have literally sung "Champions of England, you'll never sing " at clubs that have won the league before including Everton and Blackburn, which is bizarre given that Everton have won the league 9 times and many people who sang it against Blackburn were alive when Blackburn last won the league.
