I think that’s the obvious problem isn’t it - he is scared to take the handbrake off in case we get a good hiding - he believes to be pragmatic and stay in the game for as long as possible is the way to play and that’s why the flair players are on the bench - there is some method in that madness but I don’t think it wins you enough games unfortunately- it does mean we probably won’t get slapped that often but on days like yesterday when Villa were bang average we should have had a bit more of a go - it’s a fine line - like all of us we can only hope he finds the balance and gets some more creativity in the side without leaving us wide open - we certainly have a few of those players available now for what it’s worth I thought skipp and ayew had decent games - skipp and winks should be the starting pair - he needs to find a way to shuffle the other 4 positions in front of those to give us a threat and a bit of quality without sacrificing the solid combative efforts we have seen - easier said than done - we are in games - it’s not been a disaster but he is thinking like a bottom 6 manager and if that’s the tactics every game we will probably end up with bottom 6 results like I said not easy though as he must believe we are wide open for humpings if we go at teams with the more flair players

So we agree he isn’t a striker anymore - he is a wide player - thus the daka comparison makes no sense - and as a 4th wide man he is more than adequate for us

Have to agree here - daka has been absolutely pathetic - horrible in the championship as well - no way on earth he is a premier league striker for any team - utter tosh - and ayew is not a centre forward - he is left or right which completely negates the stats anyway

Needs 30 starts - not getting that here - good loan abroad or championship would help him a lot

No way winks and wilf can play every game - cooper plays 2 holding so we desperately needed a third - I like cooper already - he has looked at hamza and soumare and knows straight away neither can play prem level football - its refreshing to have a gaffer that has eyes - skipp is a great addition to give us 3 to rotate between in those 2 positions starting and in game subs when one of the other 2 are knackered - so important this one - all aboard skippy son now go and get those 4 more needed please - LB, Wing , CAM, Forward after the absolute shambles of a pre season we have had and the current state of the club and how we all feel - Monday night second half has given us some HOPE - it’s all we needed - get the next 10 days right with 4 decent signings and we have every chance of keeping that hope going

I think they realised early they only get one chance at this - if they don’t stay up the gaffer would probably leave so they are spending every penny of the tv money and investments on bringing in prem level players - time will tell if they will have enough but they are certainly having a go

Really solid signing - I like him - it won’t be anywhere near 20m up front either - I bet that including wages and a massive payment if we stay up - be something like 12m fee over 4 years - peanuts at this level for a solid if not extraordinary premier league midfielder- finally something that isn’t pathetic agree with others though - this needs to be 1 of 4 and the other 3 need to have some creativity and goals
