Run longer at a slower pace, intervals/fartlek training and hill reps.

Times have really tumbled for me these last few weeks: 26:08 5K 55:59 10K 1:59:29 half (considering September was 2:06:42 and long standing PB 2:05:34 I’m chuffed to bits with this)

Nacho has always struck me as a player who thinks too much about the game what he’s doing. That thinking time he has seems to send conflicting messages to his brain and then utter confusion appears to set in changing what should’ve been a moment of greatness into something rather ‘meh’. i can’t figure out if he just doesn’t have a good footballing brain or genuinely has no self belief. I’m still hoping that he becomes ‘that’ striker that we all rave about for years but I can’t see it happening.

Yeah it was that one. I wasn’t in ‘race’ mode and used it as a training run. Apart from the steps, I thought it was brilliant. Went to the new parkrun this morning in Ibstock. Really enjoyed it and if you’re a fan of mud you’ll love it over the winter. Was one of my worst 5K times for a long long time but after a 40 mile week last week I’m grateful for these ‘easy’ runs.

Ran the Tissington Trail Half today. Totally recommend it as it’s flat/downhill apart from a few metres at the end. Decent medal as well. For those parkrunners amongst us, a new one started yesterday at Sence Valley Forest Park.

Northampton? I thought it was a brilliant course! One of my slowest at 2:14 but it was part of a longer run.

Are we playing that Tippy Tappy Shit again

Tippy Tappy shit…..is it wrong that I actually quite enjoyed the tippy tappy shit. I think that phrase should be trademarked.

Open Training Session at the King Power
waddadamadda replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pretty much the conversation I had with my daughter whilst there. My favourite was ‘I’m not too sure which one is Vardy as they all look different with a tan from their holiday’ -
I’ve gone from 34:11 (31/12/22) to 26:14 (22/07/23). Still 45 seconds shy of my PB but moving in the right direction

Open Training Session at the King Power
waddadamadda replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Lady behind us rocked up around 11:30 and said to her children that she was disappointed as she assumed it meant they would be going on to the pitch to train with the players.- 133 replies

Glad I chose today to make my yearly appearance Soumarè for me had a great game, Iversen would be a world class keeper if he had any idea as to what constitutes decent distribution and I honestly feel that we’re a totally different team without Vardy. Chuck in seeing John Terry looking like a small child who’d got their ultimate Christmas present when the final whistle went, it’s been a pretty good day.

Just had this same conversation!

Just put mine on resale. SK1 behind the goal

I’ve just put my season ticket seats on resale as can’t make Saturday. SK1 seats behind the goal
-
I couldn’t see much of the game as I was (and still am!) really short. I vividly remember losing my dad after each goal as I was swept up into the crowd and carried down the steps
-
No idea what year it was however I believe it was a Boxing Day fixture. We played Watford - finished 4-4 and I think it was Ian Ormondroyd who equalised late on. I was 12 maybe 13, proper short and my Dad made me stand in the Kop. So yeah, 30ish years ago.

Was this the Chase The Sun event which was on midweek? If so, I was on of the marshalls there and I take my hat off to anyone who managed to finish anything over 5k there!
-
Pre lockdown, an easy 5k was 26/27 minutes with my PB being 25:31. Due to laziness and swapping speed for endurance I’m stuck around 29 minutes Plan is to ride this year out and then give my head a wobble.
-
Currently out 5 times a week as I have an ultra in at Easter however I can’t say I’m particularly enjoying it. It’s been hard having to accept that any speed I had is gone as the focus is on endurance.

It’s the advantage of being short! Only one they had there so snapped it up. It’s insane! I normally used my local bike shop however they’ve had nothing for this last year. Have you tried their Pitsford branch (over Northampton way?) They posted a picture the other day and looked like they had a few bikes there but what they are I have no idea.

Popped into Rutland Cycles last weekend and picked up a new Specialized Hybrid as I fancied a new bike. Lighter than my current Liv road bike and absolutely hilarious on sharp, wet corners. Will be a great causal summer rider whilst the hunt for a new roadie continues…….

Season Ticket Renewals: Price Freeze For 2021/22
waddadamadda replied to FoxFromCoalville's topic in Ticket News and Travel
I had to email the TO and they created a ‘strong link’ between mine and my daughters season tickets as I couldn’t renew hers using her log in details as she’s under 12. I’ll give the office credit where it’s due as I only had to wait half an hour for a reply. -
If you fancy really testing yourself, get yourself onto one of the Action Challenge events. No pressure, loads of food at rest stops, free meal at the end with a little bit of running in between......
