  2. We need to sniff the coffee First rule of league 1 is to get out of league 1 on the first attempt this is a low risk strategy I don’t want excitement, I want an outcome for next year 2027…. Bring in the young fancy dans
  3. Big Difference gone…. One venue that championed local music… we are a dessert for live music…. Just awful

    Dogs

Many of us have been there and it’s not easy (me 14 months ago) It was heartbreaking but not hard with Dudley…. He’d run his race and I was doing him a kindness…. I think about him most days still All the best to you and your pooch…
  5. Any boozers that do a quiz Tuesday night in Leicester (I’m the south side of the city)
  6. Love that made to worn…. Wear as much as you like and don’t bother babying it! Just take it off when you do the dishes and you’ll be fine!
  7. Go for it then…. It’d be a talking point if nothing else!!!
  8. Vintage is always a punt! but you’re not throwing serious money away..: I just had a little google and it’s really fun watch! ebay is not a bad place to start or Chrono 24 look at the detailed pics and ensure it’s relatively clean…. And take your pic…. Some Japanese sellers (if you ask them) will under declare the value for import tax (so I’ve heard!)
  9. I’ve booked Winstanley House now i know Sonrisa well, but will give Wild Tango a bash too!
  10. Hi My boss is coming over the UK and likes Steak where’s a good shout in Leicester? Ta
  11. The Pope is visiting Liverpool. A young lad comes to the front of the crowd and shouts "Hey! Pope! Can you help me with my hearing?" "Come here my son. Let me put my hands on your ears". After an appropriate passage of time, the Pope removes his hands and asks "Has that helped your hearing?" The lad says "It's not till next Wednesday, but thanks anyway".
  12. Yep…. I don’t really buy new watches (I’m into vintage stuff), but they’re full on mental You can still get deals in the second hand market and, personally, I don’t put much value in visiting a posh boutique and having a glass of Prosecco!!! Rolex have been getting away with murder for years…. Lots of people wanting portable wealth (Russians for instance!) totally inflated the price A colleague of mine just brought a PP Nautilus from Oliver Giroud! Those prices stratospheric
  13. I owned one many years ago the 36mm on the older model (with the applied indices) are lovely…. Mine was 39mm, but I think it looks better on the 36mm You can pay for validation on eBay, join a watch forum or scour second hand jewellers cheap would be £1k (36mm) and £1.5k for the 39mm but get the older model, much nicer dial
  14. The time keeping on it is spot on…. I have a few early quartz models…. And the engineering that went into them was astonishing…. custom-grown, high-frequency quartz crystals, which were engineered to within an inch of their lives! it a very rare 2.4 MHz Marine Chronometer - really over engineered this doesn’t miss a beat
  15. Just lob it on your wrist…. No issue then!
  16. Close, but more of an orange…. I do like a bit of colour, particularly in the summer This is an early 80’s Seiko from Japan…. Has the Kamji day date…. I wear it a lot
  17. Apparently General Ulysses S. Grant was a bit boring ! Remarkable that he was ever in Leicester though I thought he went to the corn exchange?
  18. Thanks for Mark Draper
  19. I ended up two rows back cuddling a lady with a yellow jacket…. The mayhem when super Steve shinned it was insane what a day!
  20. They’re brave buggers aren’t they? Mabel deals with them currently Im sure they were living in earth next door to us
  21. I have spent a lot of time and effort on my garden recently, but I’m so ignorant when it comes to how to manage anything. Mowing the lawn with my 20 year old Honda is like meditation I’ve got a really good gardener who pops in once a month to sort the borders I feel like a fraud and I want to do look after things myself, but I’m terrified of screwing it up ! and next time Trev, just ask the question!
  22. It’s immensely satisfying growing lawn from seed (I did my whole lawn) I had a patch in front of my new garden construction and, this morning, some shoots are popping up! keeping Mabel (the dog) off it has been impossible though, so I gave up with my makeshift barriers as that only seemed to make it more fun! it was a slice of dirt as a result of creating my garden room…. I did a lot of it myself (a) because I get what I want and (b) I’m a tight arse! Reclaimed teak bifolds and a left over window, SIPS panels covered in red cedar wood…. I should be in soon after finishing the inside To make the small patio I got some old Staffordshire blues from a bloke chucking them out (I know I was lucky!!) I found this one amongst them..
  23. Egg boxes/ shells ana coffee grounds ensure you get a reasonable composter, some rotate
