Good to see a lot of the champions league money arriving at the bottom line. Hopefully much of it will go into longer term investment rather than just the team as may be a while before that windfall is repeated.

I have faith in the owners taking the correct decision in the summer if required. They have demonstrated they can be ruthless when needs dictate. Today was frustrating in so many ways I can’t even be bothered to list them. Worse is the fact it’s been the same for a fair few matches recently.

In the summer, assuming his agent doesn't screw up again, I would hope we can get £60-65m to reinvest in a couple of players as we are unlikely to be able to attract a £50+m player who will want wages to match unless we get into Europe.. I am assuming he continues in the form he has shown this season, if not the value will fall. To avoid that we should give him a revised contract with an agreed release clause.
