Agreed, I think the whole Kelechi debacle with not getting into Poland really impacted Daka, as I’m sure they would have both started last night. Both were more than lively enough against Napoli and linked up pretty well I thought.

Fair points … Claudio was given the extra time due to the phenomenal achievements of the season before. Not sure the FA Cup win will afford BR similar time IF things don’t improve. Scrutiny and Sacked come hand in hand as one relates to a decline in performance and the other is the consequence. I just hope we can get 3 massive points vs Palace and then use the international break to get our house in order.

To put that in context, we sacked our Premier League winning manager the next season halfway through a Champs League campaign. No one “earns the right” not to come under scrutiny and the hierarchy ABSOLUTELY will be looking (closer than ever before under Rodgers’ tenure so far) at how things develop. We are horribly out of form and I would suggest it’s not improving … yet …

I look at our CB’s and genuinely can’t see how the lumps deal with a mobile, quick forward line like Zaha, Edouard, Ayew …. Not to say that’s anywhere near a top class attack, we’re that ****ing shit it’s hard to see how they ain’t each gonna score a goal!!!

The most inept, weak, limo, pathetic, timid performance you could wish for in an away game, against a sub-standard European team (no disrespect). Let’s be honest …. They were gone be “up for it” … 1 place above the Polish relegation zone …. Ride out the first 15mins, get a foothold in the game. Control possession …. Noooooooooooooo, everything was horrid! We couldn’t pass, we sure as hell couldnt defend (no change there), we were toothless in attack. I’ve been reluctant to say it, but this season smacks of Ranieri 16/17 …. I said it in a post a day or 2 ago, every club & manager has a lifecycle (however long or short), it really is starting to feel like things are “off the boil” to me ….. if we don’t win at Palace, and the performance is equally as limp, then it’s looking dire. And that’s not an over reaction by any stretch.

The short and simple answer to this is … no! With the investment in the training ground and the soon to be extended East stand and associated development, I genuinely believe the not too distant future for us is incredibly bright! Khun Top and the club hierarchy won’t accept mediocrity, the vision they have for us is to be constant trophy challengers (which we have been under Rodgers). If or when that starts to fall away (every manager/club has a lifecycle where things start to fall below expectations & change is required), I expect the calibre of manager we can now attract to be of genuine top European/world class calibre. I never really have the expectation that we will win this or that, or be guaranteed of top 5 in the Prem etc, but that’s possibly more of an engrained Foxes fan coping mechanism than a reflection of what level we are genuinely at.

Like most, I think I’ve had to re-assess my expectations for this season. Coming into it I was pretty confident we were the 5th best team in the country. However, our defensive weaknesses are glaringly obvious now and we look a relatively easy nut to crack. The above combined with our Europa commitments, our next 3 games following on from Europa games are: Palace (a), Brentford (a) and Leeds (a) for which I can genuinely see zero points! Leeds & Brentford imparticular are tough places to go with midweek European commitments. Thus …. Based on current form but assuming that we HAVE TO improve soon, I can us finishing 8th ish.

Agreed, he seemed to get “bullied” at times by Vydra which isn’t what you expect or want from a centre back who should be commanding. More worrying for me was the long balls that he was getting caught under and going over his head. The corner for the first goal came from one of those … we’re playing Burnley, we know how they play, but he didn’t seem to be able to cope with it! Horribly out of form and lacking confidence at the moment.

Huge game this! If we can get the 3pts off the back of progressing in the Carabao Cup it will feel like a much better start to the season, with a decent run of games coming up! Nacho man needs to start this one for me but I can’t see it after playing the full 90 last night!
