  1. So will the UK now stop VAT at the border? I won't hold my breath.
  2. Torque definitely makes for an easier ride. I still look back on my 2 stroke days with rose tints, so bought an RGV250. Great fun in the power band but you need to be a pretty skilled rider to keep it singing. What really killed it was my wrists! Oooft, too old for sports bikes now. So I got a street triple. That was great, nimble, fast and comfortable with straight bars. Problem was when I ventured out for the day with my mate and did 400 miles on it, started to notice the lack of torque and it was buzzing away all day. Bike now is super duke GT. It's very quick but the low down thumping torque makes it very easy to ride, very addictive too. New bikes have anti-wheely, TC, slip control etc to keep you on it safely. If you do go for a big bike, a twin cylinder is worth trying out. A common starter bike is a Yamaha MT07 or Suzuki SV650, both are great bikes.
  3. Owned this 12 years, had it rebuilt after I broke it 11 years ago. Took it round the block, but needs final mapping to finish.
  4. Get it done. What bike are you thinking of?
  5. Just got back to work, all the fittings I bought have been taken, someone has lost some test equipment, procedures not signed, stuff not done and to top it off, I'm getting £20 a day less. Now sure why I need to take responsibility and put everything right, if they don't want to pay me more to do it. Not happy.
  6. And no one is wealthier for it, just numbers on a piece of paper. Then the government get it back on inheritance tax. Meanwhile, our children can't afford to buy a house. My house was 260, now worth 550, but the houses we're looking at are 750-800, plus 40k stamp duty! I could do an extension but it will cost 130k and my house will be worth 650k, so losing out whatever I do.
  7. I love seeing old cars on the road.
  8. Ullesthorpe, burbage and barwell. But spent a lot of time out the shire. We probably pissed on izzys bus if we saw it at away matches being the rival village! edit: actually, the claybrooke lads were on our bus, must have been the Lutterworth bus iirc, Happy days! Lol
  9. The worst thing is, you got your EV back.
  10. Anything by Gemmel. Such a shame to lose a great writer. His wife finished his last book. Morningstar is a particular favorite. Classic anti hero. But all the drenai series is great, especially with druss in it.
  11. Dashcam. Had to disconnect ours from the Merc, kept getting battery notifications on my phone, then the car went haywire and required a battery reset. A good indication is the start stop deactivating as the car tries to reduce it's battery use.
  12. On Google maps they say it's in Derby!
  13. It was clearly evident at the presidential debate. No experts were required to make that assessment. It was like watching my ex girlfriends grandad trying to eat peas with his fork upside down. Pelosi and Obama both stepped in to force him to step down. The rest of the time was spent picking him up off the floor or waking him up for his nap. Watching him being pointed in the right direction for the G20 photo was truly pathetic.
  14. But that is EXACTLY what happened with Biden. Didn't turn out to be the biggest scandal at all. They had his signature on autopen, which itself isn't unusual, but is when it's used for literally everything.
  15. I get up at 5:40 latest, but usually much earlier. Straight out, 4-5000 steps, then shower and breakfast. If it's 3 or 4am, I get my steps done then go back to bed and set my alarm for 6:40. Out the door for 7am. If I wake around 3 or 4 and try to go back to sleep, I'll stay awake, not do my steps and be tired. But if I go for a walk I can go back to sleep easily.
