  1. So will the UK now stop VAT at the border? I won't hold my breath.
  2. Torque definitely makes for an easier ride. I still look back on my 2 stroke days with rose tints, so bought an RGV250. Great fun in the power band but you need to be a pretty skilled rider to keep it singing. What really killed it was my wrists! Oooft, too old for sports bikes now. So I got a street triple. That was great, nimble, fast and comfortable with straight bars. Problem was when I ventured out for the day with my mate and did 400 miles on it, started to notice the lack of torque and it was buzzing away all day. Bike now is super duke GT. It's very quick but the low down thumping torque makes it very easy to ride, very addictive too. New bikes have anti-wheely, TC, slip control etc to keep you on it safely. If you do go for a big bike, a twin cylinder is worth trying out. A common starter bike is a Yamaha MT07 or Suzuki SV650, both are great bikes.
  3. Owned this 12 years, had it rebuilt after I broke it 11 years ago. Took it round the block, but needs final mapping to finish.
  4. Get it done. What bike are you thinking of?
  5. Just got back to work, all the fittings I bought have been taken, someone has lost some test equipment, procedures not signed, stuff not done and to top it off, I'm getting £20 a day less. Now sure why I need to take responsibility and put everything right, if they don't want to pay me more to do it. Not happy.
  6. And no one is wealthier for it, just numbers on a piece of paper. Then the government get it back on inheritance tax. Meanwhile, our children can't afford to buy a house. My house was 260, now worth 550, but the houses we're looking at are 750-800, plus 40k stamp duty! I could do an extension but it will cost 130k and my house will be worth 650k, so losing out whatever I do.
  7. I love seeing old cars on the road.
  8. Ullesthorpe, burbage and barwell. But spent a lot of time out the shire. We probably pissed on izzys bus if we saw it at away matches being the rival village! edit: actually, the claybrooke lads were on our bus, must have been the Lutterworth bus iirc, Happy days! Lol
  9. The worst thing is, you got your EV back.
  10. Anything by Gemmel. Such a shame to lose a great writer. His wife finished his last book. Morningstar is a particular favorite. Classic anti hero. But all the drenai series is great, especially with druss in it.
  11. Dashcam. Had to disconnect ours from the Merc, kept getting battery notifications on my phone, then the car went haywire and required a battery reset. A good indication is the start stop deactivating as the car tries to reduce it's battery use.
  12. On Google maps they say it's in Derby!
  13. It was clearly evident at the presidential debate. No experts were required to make that assessment. It was like watching my ex girlfriends grandad trying to eat peas with his fork upside down. Pelosi and Obama both stepped in to force him to step down. The rest of the time was spent picking him up off the floor or waking him up for his nap. Watching him being pointed in the right direction for the G20 photo was truly pathetic.
  14. But that is EXACTLY what happened with Biden. Didn't turn out to be the biggest scandal at all. They had his signature on autopen, which itself isn't unusual, but is when it's used for literally everything.
  15. I get up at 5:40 latest, but usually much earlier. Straight out, 4-5000 steps, then shower and breakfast. If it's 3 or 4am, I get my steps done then go back to bed and set my alarm for 6:40. Out the door for 7am. If I wake around 3 or 4 and try to go back to sleep, I'll stay awake, not do my steps and be tired. But if I go for a walk I can go back to sleep easily.
  16. Well he campaigned on that, so that's what people voted for.
  17. I had to delete the kids out the pic! Couldn't get them out the whirlpool bath after i fitted it all! but it's left a smudge. When taking tiles off, it pulls off the plaster board, so you have to take quite a chunk off and build it back up.
  18. I don't think I used Fibo, but I did use showerboards for our bathroom. I was getting quotes of 12k so it motivated me to do it myself. The boards were really easy, but they are also easy to cock up if you can't cut straight, so I don't know what tools you have or how confident you are. But they were very quick to put up. A decent circular saw and good tressels made it easy. I kept a detailed spreadsheet and I ended up spending just over 5k, but I bought 2k in tools, but I don't mind spending money on decent tools. It was the dewalt cordless goodies that bumped that up. The number of trips I made to b&q, wickes and the local builders merchant had my head spinning.
  19. If there's some identifying marks. You might find a you tube video on how to take the bulb out.
  20. No impact. Look what Charles LeClerc did at sauber, Hamilton in his first season against Alonso, Verstappen at Torro Rosso, Schumacher at Jordan, I could go on. He's a solid driver, but Lando is quicker. When the field is this close you've got to be quick to win. It's not like the 80's where you can win the championship coming second every race.
  21. Could be a sealed unit. You'll know more when you get it out. Just pull it out, there will be 2 springs that hold it in, they'll become apparent as it comes out. Will be a choc block for the wiring, so just unscrew and put on the bench. Front might screw off to get bulb out, otherwise get a new unit by checking the id marks (serial, part number etc) You can tidy up the hole by fitting some perspex plates between the light and the ceiling, just measure and search for a size on eBay. Scrape off the over paint. That would drive me mad. I disconnect all my sockets, switches and fittings if painting and get behind them.
  22. Aliens might come here regularly, but space time isn't continuous, so 50,000 years have passed since they came last week.
  23. Another push to break with a fused spur, carpeted the floor and boarded it out and added a shoe rack.
  24. With 4 kids and a wife who collects shoes, we were in much need of some shoe storage. So I put a hatch in the staircase. (Carpet won't be changed until the kids grow up, they've already ruined the living room, I know it's terrible)
  25. Finished job.
