  1. I'm guessing Glover's gonna be extremely important for this rebuild. Is it correct to assume both coady and winks were from him? Doyle too, since Southampton signed a couple of man city youth players while he was there.
  2. Thanks for the info @Sambiasso We have to hope now that there's a quick appointment and that Glover has already identified his targets in advance. Here's hoping.
  3. Long term target ? Leicester target trio of European young guns in bid to strengthen for Champions League football Rennes striker Ousmane Dembele, Jagiellonia Bialystok keeper Bartlomiej Dragowski and Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena are all wanted by the Foxes https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/leicester-target-trio-european-young-7870801 article from 2016
  4. One thing about Pearson was that his squad building skills were incredible. He had an amazing sense knowing exactly what the team needed to evolve and progress. A quick example of our business under him in the championship: summer 2012 - bought in a host of young, hungry players with a point to prove - de laet, james, vardy. knocky etc summer 2013 - bought in experienced veterans to inject a bit of know-how and experience to a young team after falling away the year before - wasyl, hammond, phillips, gtf he still isn't given enough credit imo for our first season back in the prem when we finished 14th.
  5. Pearson reveals Foxes were following Cardiff flop Cornelius as Leicester boss points to Vardy as example of how to sign the right players https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2580433/Nigel-Pearson-reveals-Foxes-following-Cardiff-City-flop-Andreas-Cornelius-Leicester-City-boss-points-Jamie-Vardy-example-sign-right-players.html

  7. Fair point, I just hope we have some stability in the head of recruitment position, Walsh to come back maybe ?
  8. There has been talk from our fans about a decline in our ability to recruit effectively since Rodgers has come in but is this accurate ? I would argue that since the summer of 2016 we have had a mixed bag in terms of success in the market but on the whole its been positive. The 2018/19 was an example of how good our recruitment can be as Soyuncu,Maddison,Perreira,Evans, and Tielemans in the January window were all excellent signings, but since the departure of Walsh, I would argue that windows like 2018/19 have been the exception rather than the rule. Lets analyse how many successful signings we've made since winning the title in 2016. successful signings 2016/17 Ndidi successful signings 2017/18 Maguire Iheanacho successful signings 2018/19 Soyuncu Pereirra Evans Maddison Tielemans successful signings 2019/20 Justin (Tielemans on a permanent) successful signings 2020/21 fofana castagne Appreciate that what constitutes a successful signing is subjective, but by looking at this it becomes obvious that since Rodgers came in, we've reverted to our usual success rate of one or usually two players that would prove to be a success, so I think it would be unfair to solely blame Rodgers, and whoever would have come in after we sacked Puel was always going to have a decline in terms of the success rate of signings. P.S Didn't include the summer signings of 2021/22 as the jury is still out on Soumare, but Lookman and Daka in particular are looking good !
  9. tfw you've made history as City's first FA Cup winning manager
  10. Manchester City check on 'new Paul Pogba' Boubakary Soumare with Leicester and Everton also interested in the £20m-rated Lille teenager Manchester City academy chief Brian Marwood checks on Boubakary Soumare Marwood travelled to France last Wednesday to watch him play for Lille The 18-year-old 6ft2ins midfielder has been dubbed the 'new Paul Pogba' Leicester and Everton have both shown a strong interest in the Frenchman https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5294807/Man-City-chief-Brian-Marwood-checks-Boubakary-Soumare.html#ixzz54q8trLVM Article from January 2018. Looks like we've been scouting him for over 3 and a half years. Impressive work by the recruitment team.
  11. On Merse, I think it started after he watched us play Arsenal off the park in the emirates (but lost 2-1) in the great escape season. He couldn't believe that a team rooted to the bottom of the league could outplay a team like Arsenal on their own patch like that. He changed his stance the following season and wrote us off constantly until March/April when we won the league. Bizarre.
  12. The celebration after Iheanacho's goal was confirmed was so special, it looked to me that they realised just then that we could potentially do something special this season. Incredible, absolutely incredible.
  13. I think a lot of people forget how bad of a position we were in when Shakey got sacked back in October 2017. Have a look at the squad back then and the style of football we were playing. The 1-1 draw with West Brom epitomised our decline since the title win, just watch the match again in case you guys forgot. Compare our squad then, to now and it becomes obvious that Puel had bought us forward in terms of squad building/squad profile despite his shortcomings which I do accept hence his sacking.
