He's having to assess his passing options and seemed he just took his eye off how close Stanislas was. Hasn't happened loads this season, and looked pretty composed second half which was good. People hate conceding that type of goal because it seems so easily avoidable but whacking it forwards often cedes possession straight away anyway. Thought most of our playing out from the back yesterday was excellent.

6 Games Left! - We are top with a game in hand!

It's simple now. We can get 1 fewer point than either Ipswich or Leeds get from their remaining games, and we have an extra game with which to do it. Leeds can't reach 102 so 4 wins and 2 draws sees us promoted and likely Champions. -

We're Leicester City, we're too of the league! -
Seems we're getting a nice run of revisiting this season's FA cup victories. Go get the job done there again.

They've got a relentless fixture list due to previous postponements and now are pretty much nailed for playoffs only, so think there's a decent chance they rotate a lot in the run in, which means against us too.

He still has a lot to prove but he's neat and tidy and offers good versatility for this system. Good contribution today.

Think the only potential grumble they could have is that Nunez should have been booked for Norwich.

I find the studio EFL coverage so much better than the PL. They've dropped all the pretence and it seems a more relaxed and sensible discussion on the game. McAnuff is excellent too, always seems knowledgeable on any team he's watching.

Catching up on the last few pages has been fun "Best team in the league since August, you'll never sing that"

Oh absolutely, they're much better ran than we are. I think they'll remain financially comfortable but they won't have gained any sporting advantage from this year's results. Villa are the ones I think are going to run into similar problems. It seems the difference is that they've kept their wages small and they're definitely more capable of finding good young players than we are. Honestly the wage bill we had is just the dumbest way of going about it. You can pivot quickly on transfer fees by spending less and selling more if you need to balance, the high wages are on fixed contracts and we basically locked ourselves in to needing European football. Given the size of some of the other clubs that missed out this was an absolutely mad approach. As much as I will be critical of the rules I always think of Redknapp signing Ben-Haim wherever he went and whacking him on £50k a week contracts which screwed over clubs. To me this is what the rules should be there to prevent and it's almost exactly what we we've been doing. Financial security looks ok because loans have been written off, but all it would have taken was for that not to happen and we would have been sending ourselves down a very dark path. We're the poster boy for the rules being necessary now.

Just one thing with the rules as they stand, and this may be my misunderstanding of the rules, but the great result posted by Brighton doesn't really help them does it? They could spend big in the next 2 years and still meet PSR rules but if they did that they'd potentially have an issue in 3 years' time when the massive profit year drops off? The only thing they can try to do is continue recording massive player sales, which seems unlikely. Surely the results should mean there's a bigger benefit to positing a massive profit? As it stands they'd have been better spending a large chunk of that money on farming some promising younger players, even if they never intended to use them.

We were 17 points ahead of Leeds on 1st Jan.

That would have been in the next period though right? -

Would we have even fallen in line if we'd have won the league last year? Hypothetically. -

Did they think the £105m was an annual target? -

And yet we needed Fofana to chuck his toys out of the pram to sell him!? What the ****. Clearly had no intention of ever complying. Damning. -
Should There Be Play-offs in the Football League?
Number 6 replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Makes the league so much better. Annoying for whoever gets third this season but then it was annoying for Notts County and Sheff Weds last season until they went and won at Wembley anyway. -
Just needs a win against Leeds for the cherry on top! In all seriousness though they could be targeting a much higher finish next season with how they've gone under him.
-
There was a point in the second half when we'd over committed to an attack and the ball broke to a Norwich player near the half way line ... Faes came charging in and made a very smart foul which allowed us to regroup. I can't tell if there's a player in there or not at times but that was great!
-
Definitely could happen but would mean the top 3 teams in the division positing points totals within the top 10 division 1 totals. It's been a crazy season for the pace at the top!
-
Don't think it's fair to compare to the big 6 clubs to be fair. They'll operate on massive stock that eventually they'll need to shift. Also a big 6 shirt identifies you as a **** so should come a bit cheaper.

Unfortunately suspect they've got protection via shifting on academy products and can probably absorb a bad signing more easily than we can. Though I live in hope that they have lined themselves up for a complete mess. -

I know it would hamper spending ability in the short term but shouldn't we be amortising transfer fees over a couple of years fewer than contract length for signings? Means when it gets to the point you need to start shifting players before they leave on a free that you can sell and positively impact psr calcs? -
Think some of this late drama is mentality to be fair. McKenna been in and around that Utd set up and worked with Ole. It annoyed the hell out of me in the nineties but that Utd side would always score late, they just believed they could and so they did.
