Gone back to look…and it wasn’t leaving early
-
True for Stoke, not for Preston, Baggies and Blackburn. I commented in the other thread a quote from the Sheffield Utd commentary - same thing. I didn’t go back to check the earlier matches and turned off the TV soon after the Stoke match. It’s ticket prices, it’s kick off time of day, it’s saturation TV coverage, it’s marketing departments, it’s no terraces, it’s the product and consumer mentality - the commodification of community, it’s last minute fixture changes, it’s financial clout imbalance, it’s multimillionaire twats with bags and Bentleys and drink driving charges, it’s owners taking the piss and incompetent senior management… It’s because I never watch these shows or have 5 Live on as a rule. I never see these scenes and it was striking last night. Libraries and empty seats. The situation is only going to get worse.

Preston 3-2 winning and yet the ground is 3/4 full Baggies - Blues and it’s not a sellout from kick off Its a disease, football needs a cure, it’s dying.

Football has a problem, a massive problem. Just look at the gaping chasm of empty seats. This is a nation that is rapidly falling out of love with the live game, a nation of clubs who no longer value fans. “Football is nothing without fans”, and yet clubs and television think they can cope - they can’t. You can argue about league position and the time of the goals, but today’s match saw a plethora of red chairs lying vacant from the off. Honestly, if this isn’t addressed, if real fans aren’t encouraged, professional football dies. The connection has been ruptured. Warning bells are sounding - albeit quietly…and completely silent at 85 minutes.

“But if we were in the Prem we’d never get away with this” “But if we were in the Champions League we’d never get away with this” ”But if we were playing in the World Cup Final we’d never get away with this”

Mrs Raj isn’t going to be convinced by that argument.

“There aren’t just a few - there’s a load leaving” It seems to be a disease in the professional game…one that is being ignored by those in charge.

My puppy had me so tired I slept through the entire match. Yes, I’m fully aware how this sounds.

And now all I have in my head is HMHB

A rational person would say that (at the very best) flying to Thailand and back during the window looks incredibly bad for a DoF who massively fvcked up last season and would have been booted from any other club. It’s almost like it was done on purpose because the attitude was “You’re at the top of the league with this squad, we don’t need to replace the midfielder we lost”.

Thank you for your comment, Mrs Rudkin, but you are completely wrong. I love Enzo’s style of play and yet think your husband is some kind of special moron to be able to consistently achieve a sub50% success rate on signings and below value on sales. He is to the football side what Big Sooz is to alienating and ripping off fans on the business side. Bet you were warning everyone to be careful what they wished for and wanted Rodgers to stay. Yours, Rudki Nout

Bunch of racists who mocked us when we went down. There’ll never be a match against Stoke where I don’t want us to win by obliterating them.

Don't believe it’s pushing it at all. It’s beyond argument that we fail kids with issues completely. This has nothing to do with broken homes or affluence. CAMHS is a right state, and obtaining diagnosis for MH problems and neurodiversity no longer attracts the support and funding it used to. After the first attempted poisoning and exclusion, Jenkinson would and should have been sent to a PRU…but good luck finding spaces anymore.

I hope the people who underfunded education, mental health and social services for the last 14 years get tortured daily.
