He also picked Choudhury at CB one game. The decline started 8 days after we won the FA Cup, when we lost to Spurs and so didn´t qualify for the CL. Poor summer signings and then a loss of interest from Rodgers seemed to cause a general malaise to set in among the othe rplayers and the fans.

I think they should play games only in the UK: 1) so they don´t reward the players for last season´s shambles with a week in the Alps, and 2) to reduce costs Next season, also to reduce costs, get rid of the clappers and the pre-game flame throwers

Fans’ heroes through the ages (well from 1966).

Andy Lochhead, Weller, Peter Weir, Walsh, Matt Elliott, Gary Mac, Rooster Russell, Izzet, Lennon I suppose Norman Leet was a cult hero The late Kevin Campbell was only here a few months but became extremely popular and did a lap of honour to a standing ovation after his final game. -
Vardy, Ward and Iversen to leave at the end of the month.

That would have been a good photo for the spot the ball competitions (do they still exist?). Nobody would have got it right -
Thank you Odsonne, wherever you are

I was a season ticket holder but after the infamous Sheffield United game I gave up hope of going up and booked a holiday in Spain for the play-off weekend. Serves me right! I was there at Hillsborough though when Super Steve´s other volley won the League Cup

At Aldershot (I should know, I´ve read the book 3 or 4 times! Highly recommended)

Funnily enough I think they won the play-off final 1 year later, against poor old Sheffield United, with a goal in the 88th minutes

Well said. We had a great time in 1996-2001 and even better in 2015-2021. This club has been run badly in the last 3-4 years but look at other clubs of a similar size that have been shambolic: Cov, Derby, Sheff Wed, Birmingham etc.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
DJW1 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I know nothing about business, but the concept of LCFC being a subsidiary business of King Power seems a bit strange. Let´s say LCFC makes a profit of 10 M excluding sponsorship, but add on 10 M in KP sponsorship to make a profit of 20 M, which finally goes back to KP. So that 10 M is just going round and round, to and from KP. To my mind it might as well be 50 pence or 50 M -
He had to take his dog for a walk

I thought that KDH might have come seeing as he only works on Thursday nights
-
The last time I saw him playing for Palace he was in central midfield. We could do worse than sign him in the summer, given his versatility
-
Was that him with the shaven head?

On the positive side, let´s be grateful we had this golden period. A few years ago, Rochdale had been in the 4th tier for 40+ years without a promotion or relegation! Look at the shambles that clubs like Derby, Birmingham, Cov etc. have been in recent years, I thought that winning the League Cup twice with Martin O´Neill was going to be as good as it got. How wrong I was! In a way, winning the FA Cup made me happier than winning the PL, because it was something that I thought was possible and used to dream about.

If the coaches had got him to use his left foot he might have gone much further.

Holloway's Hungarians?

I think our FA Cup final would have been pretty boring for a neutral, although I´m not the best judge - I was too busy having a nervous breakdown in the last 20 minutes

I only saw Édouard "in action" against Bournemouth, when he came on as sub for 10-15 mins. If I remember righty, his only contributions were to give away a foul, then get easily shrugged off the ball by his marker and finally fall over when clean through on goal. Based on that I would give him -3.

You said you'd bring me on for the last 10 minutes

I hope you weren´t swinging on the cross-bar!

Perhaps this is a bit off-topic, but I still have the programme from May 1980 when we clinched promotion at Orient. In it, the Supporters Club section reported on the player of the season award, the winner receiving a 100 quid cheque from the fans! I wonder how many Leicester fans would contribute this seaon!

Many of Martin O´Neill´s signings turned out to be bargains. Before that, Peter Weir, Nicky Cross, Steve Walsh, etc. Much earlier, Frank Clark was given a free by Newcastle and was going to sign for Doncaster in the old 4th Division before Cloughie signed him for Forest, where he won the League, European Cup etc.

The fact that this has happened says a lot about the coaching staff and managers. He wasn´t good enough for PL football when he arrived and now isn´t good enough for the Championship. Last season, in the games when he wasn´t playing he did seem genuinely happy when they won, whereas Cannon always looked miserable (understandable if Daka gets selected ahead of you).
