Perhaps Palace will pull the same trick they did a few years ago, according to their then-chairman. They agreed a deal with the player and other club but had just missed the end-of-window dealine. So Palace (and presumably the other club) re-set the time on the fax machine, sent the paperwork and hey presto, deal done!

I think the Sunderland comparison is valid. They had a relatively young squad and improved over time, although they only returned to the PL after a change of manager -
Nathan Jones, you´ve been ON too long
-
Unless we are going to buy one of their academy products, as a mutual PSR favour
-
I forgot it´s an early kick-off. Go to the Arms later to celebrate our stunning victory!

Have a pint of London Pride in the Harpenden Arms before getting the train! Yes, I used to live there - from 1988 to 1998

He was hopeless but at least we got rid of him in a matter of months

Jeering our own players is nothing new. I remember home games around 1980 when a young lad playing on the right wing was booed by some Leicester fans whenever he made a mistake. What was his name? Gary Lineker.

Last season someone suggested that Faes should be played in CM. I reckon it's worth a try, perhaps in the League Cup game
-
Justin was captain so he may be untouchable, although I think he is now no more than a Squad player, filling in when necessary
-
Faes and Vesty the match winners. This humble pie is lovely!

You should be able to buy a cheaper (Saver) ticket 1-2 months before your date of travel. Any engineering work should have been announced before that. Anyway, it usually only affects late night and early morning trains

Thanks for the correction. It was a long time ago!

I saw him score the winner at Notts County in a game around 1980, but generally he was overshadowed by the other youngsters: Buchanan, Lineker, Peake

Every time I see there's a new comment on this thread I go to It, hoping to see that he's been sold, only to be disappointed.

Players you disliked, but reluctantly rated...

It was ironic that Speedie formed a great forward pairing with Steve Walsh -
Conor, you need to replace the word "started" with "injured"

To try and be positive. Chelsea had a transfer ban (for 2 windows, I think) a few years ago, when Frank Lampard took over. Despite that, he greatly improved them, qualifying for the CL. Hopefully Cifuentes will be great success (like Maresca).

One year ago someone posted "Please sign another centre forward, I can´t bear the thought of 38 games watching the ball bounce off Daka" The sad thing is that nothing has changed (except for Cannon leaving and Ayew replacing Vardy)
-
Yes, as it stands, I would choose those 11 players, but in a 4-4-2 with Bilal in a free role off Ayew
-
Just been reading about Afcon 25, in December-January. If selected, BEK, Daka and Ndidi will be away for up to a month.

I think the fans of a number of clubs (Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham etc.) are still bitter that we won the league (and FA Cup). They still say we were lucky, only winning the league because the "better" teams had poor seasons. As pointed out in another comment, many fans of other clubs think it was a disgrace to sack Ranieri, but the reality was that he may well have got us relegated.
