Disappointing but in many ways encouraging. Ricardo and Winks are such a huge upgrade on Choudhury and Skipp, and Carranza looks as if he has a nice presence about him as well as a decent touch (we’ll need him to score goals though). Mavididi had a shocker, and that hurried miss betrayed his lack of confidence. Glad that Cifuentes showed some ruthlessness by hooking him soon afterwards. If this team can find a cutting edge - and the points deduction is not too severe - we should be good enough to challenge for promotion.

If Cifuentes starts those two clowns together again, he needs his head seeing to. Ricardo, Winks and James are all proper footballers, internationals all. I want to see them start in future, not come on to save a game sabotaged by one of the most persistently unproductive and talentless midfield pairings we have ever had.

His management of meagre - in some cases disinterested - resources has been impressive so far. Needs and deserves a big helping hand from those upstairs in the next three days.

Had a purple patch for about six months when he was outstanding but fell off a cliff after injury and he was diabolically bad last season. Leeds are welcome to him.

No way I can bear nine months of this. One save was the only bit of quality all half. To play half-hearted slowcoaches Soumare and Skipp in a team that is being constantly pressed in their own half - and therefore need quick layoffs and forward midfield drives to put their defence into retreat - beggars belief.
