Like most of the team he improved considerably after Van Nistelrooy’s tactical change at half time. He and McAteer were atrocious as a pair in the first half. I’d be surprised if that combination is ever repeated. Let us fervently hope that he gains some confidence from the second half because his consistently abject performances this season (Arsenal apart) have been at the core of our defensive problems (which of course Cooper was incapable of fixing). He will never alas be the top class full back he was before that serious injury but he surely has to improve under Van Nistelrooy…

He’s the reason we are not in the relegation zone. Player of the season by a million miles.
-
… moved very very quickly in his case.

Cast your mind back to the Covid game when we beat Liverpool 3-1 at home. Wilf was an absolute colossus. For the past few seasons he has been an embarrassment. What on earth happened?

Someone wanted Cooper out, didn’t he? -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

What is it that Sky see in that illiterate clown Merson? They push his worthless, risible opinions on viewers every chance they can get. He was even on their Thanksgiving Day NFL coverage for heaven’s sake. -

Quite. Going down Town and going down the City are two very different things - as everyone from Leicester knows only too well! -
Ruud awakening for the Premier League!

Of course he’s a gamble. So were all the candidates. I’m excited. And I reckon the players will be too. Start the engines! -
Sad news. I met Nev a few times during his time at RL. Salt of the earth. No airs and graces. Lovely chap, and of course LCFC broadcasting legend. Rest in Peace.

With three Danish internationals in the side Kasper Hjulmand would not be a bad shout. Certainly worth considering.

Why feel sorry for someone who stole a very lucrative living for a few months? ‘Gave it a go’ is about all he did. He brought nothing positive. A disastrous appointment - which thankfully the club have had the guts to acknowledge.
-
Thank heavens. Nice one, Jamie.
-
Blah blah blah. Same old bland baseless platitudes from the ‘manager under pressure’ manual that simply betray his delusion and incompetence.
-
As long as Cooper is the manager of this club, we are heading in one direction only. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. He has brought nothing - NOTHING - positive to the team (I challenge anyone to counter that claim). No player has improved from last season, several have got worse, and his sole tactic appears to be ‘defend and hope’. Jamie Vardy, we know you are as annoyed as we are, so can you please ruffle a few feathers upstairs and get him gone. Tonight would be nice.

Because the manager is a scaredy cat?

Listening to the utter crap spouted by Cole and Crouch reminds me why I so rarely listen to pundits.
-
Anyone with half a brain can see that Cooper is incompetent and out of his depth at this level. Every weekend the case against him being fit for purpose strengthens. I challenge anyone to name one positive thing - yeah just one - that he has brought to this club.

Just got up to read the “we were dominant” comment. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. What weird fantasyland is Cooper living in? Nurse!! -

I am convinced that most of the players have about as much faith in Cooper as most of us on here do. I can't think of one positive impact he has made on the club since his arrival. Not one. He was an uninspiring appointment from day one and he has done nothing to change that view of him - quite the opposite in fact. It's now time for the board to own up and admit they got it spectacularly wrong. Before things get worse, which all the evidence so far suggests they inevitably will. -
Too true. Clear as day. Yet Cooper, his manager, appears to be oblivious to this. Odd.
-
Presumably you didn’t cough up all that money to attend then.
-
Cooper has basically thrown the towel in for this one. Still at least our expectations of going through are practically non-existent so we can only be surprised in a positive way. Like keeping the scoreline in single figures, for example. I just feel for the fans who have paid a small fortune to go and watch this. The manager owes them an apology.
-
He’s just out of his depth at this level. The fans can see it. And I think (a lot of) the players can see it too. It is a relationship doomed to an unhappy end. The way I see it the only thing that can save us from relegation is if the board act sooner rather than later. While he was not wrong to point out individual errors being at fault for all of their goals, last night’s second half meltdown (after a decent first half) was the perfect showcase for Cooper’s tactical impotence and ineptitude.
-
Ask away. I just hate to think that people consider the impact he made yesterday as some kind of JUSTIFICATION for Cooper not starting him. It’s hypothetical, I know, but you do inevitably wonder how much more comfortable the win might have been had Cooper shed his habitual cloak of caution for once and actually started him with Buonanotte in the 10 spot and Mavididi on the other wing. In any case Fatawu DESERVES to start v Forest. Who else have we got who is remotely as threatening in that position?
