  1. Oh my - like - god, what a - like - absolute - like - ****. Why let the facts get in the way of a good gripe?
  2. Faes actually played every single minute of Belgium’s Euro 2024 qualifying campaign - the only one to do so.
  3. aka The Clutching at Straws thread…
  4. I think the fundamental aspect of ‘Enzoball’ that drives most people mad is the slowness and sheer predictability of it. One poster on here made the excellent point that when we win the ball back in midfield our first instinct - presumably drummed into the players by the manager - is invariably to pass the ball backwards (often with more than one pass) so that we can build up the next attack in the familiar way, by which time the opponents are all positioned in defence. We have to move the ball quickly - and preferably accurately - when we regain it so that we catch their defence off guard and ill at ease. Frustratingly, this seldom happens - presumably because that is too unpredictable and ‘chaotic’ for Maresca’s liking. Bring on the chaos, I say.
  5. Ah, the penny’s finally dropped then.
  6. Totally disillusioned with the fact that lessons never seem to be learned. The club is full of incompetents from top to bottom. I know inefficiency is everywhere in society these days - and in general blithely accepted with a carefree shrug and the dreaded “it is what it is” cliche - but you don’t expect this football club, such a tour de force not so long ago and the envy of most other clubs of the same size and stature, to have become such a weak, complacent organisation and team - a soft touch if you like - in such a short time. Maresca’s refusal to adapt his tactics or change his personnel symbolises the club’s malaise. I have no desire to watch the team again in person while he continues to be so stubborn and stupid.

It’s sheer stubbornness - hoping he will come good despite the evidence staring him in the face. Just reckless bankrupt management. Rodgers Mark II.
  8. Correct. It’s all part of the cockiness that Maresca infuses into the players with his stupidly unproductive ‘possession for possession’s sake’ strategy.
  9. One of the most embarrassing weeks in the club’s history. Someone has to carry the can. And we know who that is.
  10. He has looked clueless all game.
  11. Novice manager utterly found out
  12. I realise I am in the minority but I beg to differ. Has always lacked the skillset to be sustainable in that position.
  13. He’s not an attacking midfielder ffs!! No creativity or technique
  14. Is it permitted to change manager at half time?
  15. I think it was Arsene Wenger who said that complacency is the enemy of progress. It was complacency above all (call it cockiness or arrogance, if you will) from the manager and players that got us relegated against the odds last season. And it is complacency above all from the manager and players that is now threatening to keep us in the Championship. In that respect this season is joint second with last in the ‘stressful’ stakes. Nothing will ever match 2015/16 for stress though. I said during the run in of that campaign that I didn’t care whatever Leicester did in the future as long as they won the Premier League that season. And when I look back and wonder how miserable I would have felt - perhaps for ever - had we blown it, I know I meant every word. I loved that team - they never got complacent. I don’t love this one.
  16. I find his ‘idea’ of playing football sound in theory but often tediously dull and predictable in practice. His biggest flaw though is his unwillingness and/or inability to change and adapt - especially during games - when things are going against us. However, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If he gets us promoted, he will have been a success. If he doesn’t, he will have been a failure. Black and white. Simple as that.
  17. Can’t believe you are still swimming furiously against the mounting tide and clinging on to this narrative. And why would you start a player whose confidence is completely shot and even you admit is unlikely to score? Bizarre. That excuse for a header at the end of yesterday’s game should be Daka’s swansong moment in a Leicester shirt. And yes, Iheanacho should have scored with his header too, but at least he worked the defender on the line rather than the corner flag ball boy.
  18. It would be funny if it wasn’t true.
  19. Dare to be different, Enzo! Bristol City studied your easy-to-read, easy-to-understand playbook. Millwall too. Now let me think. I wonder what Plymouth will do…
  20. And fans. … and not just ours!

The miss was so comically bad - and right at the end - that it certainly merits a dishonourable mention. And it’s not exactly his first crucial miss, is it?
  22. One arm raised means it hits the first defender. Two arms the second one.
  23. Great post. Sad but so true.
