I think I'm in acceptance mode now. Yes the high spots were good while it lasted, and it was a great feeling beating big clubs like Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. All memories now and we have to adapt to a different level.

The secret behind Wetherspoons' ability to charge low prices, is they try and keep busy for long hours. They're often open from 8.30am to midnight, and although mornings aren't quite as busy as peak time, they're earning all the time. Other establishments will only be busy for a few hours and have to earn enough (to pay the rent/rates/heating etc) in those short hours. Of course Spoons also use their purchasing power to try and keep costs down, but those extra hours contribute to paying the bills and thus making a profit at the end of the day. I think T.Martin is a total chump as regards his political views, but in terms of running a business he's succeeded in a sector where many have fallen by the wayside.

You would have thought Kelechi would be less than keen about working under Brendan again.

We've got Daka for that.

I'm beginning to think it's an advantage in the short-term to have such little progress on transfers in. It means RvN can concentrate on coaching the team and ironing out weaknesses (of which we had many).

Can't see him being up to current day Premiership standard. But maybe one for the Championship? Only joking. Ask Bilal if he knows one of his compatriots worth putting a punt on.

Even an old blind fox can outwit the cockerel every now and then. -
I suggested a few weeks back that he's got the potential to reach Modric-levels. Got jumped on... 50m+? Maybe. But if he continues to improve we should be looking at a Maguire-level fee. 80m or so.

Head down to the Bear in Paddington. Or even the Victoria but again a polished place,

Looking for general advice. I may need to get a car, that will be used to travel approx 125 miles per day (60 each way to and from work). Second-hand purchase or lease, either is possible. What should I be looking out for? Would a 1.2/1.3 engine be ok, or should I search for a bigger option?

This is a land I've visited many times.

You get a different class of professional on the continent, so I believe.

I'm always a little surprised that people like to have takeaways delivered. If you're going to have carbo-rich fast food for your supper, then surely walking down to the takeaway will at least give you a little exercise and burn off some carbs. I appreciate some people may live miles from the takeaway though.

As per the above, put monthly payments into an existing investment fund. Choosing individual shares is very, very risky. There again I thought Bitcoin was risky and I've known people who raked it in.

Nah, too much risk of buying close to a peak. Better to drip feed monthly purchases, then you buy more units when price is low (and vice versa). Do it via an iSA and get tax benefits! Agree with fresh air and exercise. Plus learn new recipes to cook at home.

Good to hear the Peacock is still running. At one point my sister did the Sunday lunches in there. My favourite drinking hole, the Gate Inn is long gone. All the memories are fading now. Even the Green man.

Effectively now. And I feel strangely relieved, now I'm past the denial mode and into acceptance.

Brilliant! RvN Masterclass incoming!!!

I'd love to see Puel here as Head of Recruitment. Suspect he wouldn't want to come back though after the way he was sacked last time. -
Given the (expected) response from FT, I'm expecting a shock result today. maybe we've reached a point where it all clicks...[GAME OVER]

Ayoze Perez isn't doing so bad (at international level).
