And Amazon warehouse workers, who also walked out for two days in Sutton Coldfield around the same time. Those workers should gain the right to unionise and we should respect them. But otherwise if Steve the finance transformations manager at a FTSE 250 went on strike, no one would notice and we wouldn't care, because his job does not matter to the world compared to a teacher. £49k is Jack sh*t. We pay grads c.£45k starting salary to produce some spreadsheets that will be checked numerous times up the chain before final production. NQ lawyers are starting on 6 figures at any reputable firm to do the same. £49k to look after your kids is contextually and objectively absolute peanuts LOL. Hence you get all the deluded admin working parents moaning when teachers, people doing a real skilled job, go on strike. Taking out staff costs, energy costs will surely be de minimis/already in place for an extra hour or if the school kitchen is already open for staff entry? Huw Edwards? I am sure he would have had plenty of chances to 'rehabilitate' given this cannot have been a surprise to the BBC, whatever they say in public. Third, fourth, fifth warnings were surely given, all ignored. Only option is imprisonment IMO. Rehabilitation is a great idea in theory but not a universal solution. Punishment and deterrents also need to exist. Carrot n stick etc
