  1. Stansted - Eindhoven, 14 June, 09.20 departure, Ryanair flight for sale if anyone requires travel. Easy and cheap rail links into Germany from there. I think around £120 inc name change. Let me know.
  2. Yes. He already is financially secure for life (I would imagine) and the Chelsea and Man U jobs are hand grenades for the next five years minimum. Kompany has shown what waiting a year out can do for your prospects, he even got relegated! Big jobs will keep appearing for the next few years due to heightened expectations and huge instability at the big clubs. Proving himself in the pressure cooker of the PL would have done his creds a lot of good. He'll prob go the same way as Graham Potter now, in Easter we'll be reading a 7-page Phil McNulty in-depth BBC article about how short sighted this appointment was. Happy to admit if I am wrong, and no hard feelings towards the bloke, it's business. But there's now way I'd take the job if I were him.
  3. Agreed and another reason I massively respect those who get to the top and stay there. Relentless media attention, comparisons and attacks awaiting if you slightly fail. Imagine the iron clad mental strength and resilience they have at such a young age to excel in that environment. All these bull**** corporate courses about building resilience and overcoming anxiety, just get a footballer to come in and tell you how strong they are and how weak you are, not some nonce who got through his ‘client calling him names and came out the other side to win’
  4. It’s clearly not the most competitive league in Europe if we won it without breaking sweat, going on holiday for two months and having JANNNNIIICK as our main man. His test will come in the PL against real football teams and players. I am confident he will be ok but not taking it as given
  5. Agree with this mainly, but Enzo has proven nothing yet, tempting fate to say he has 'succeeded.' Next year we begin to play competitive football again and I am relatively confident he will succeed at the level, but I am not taking it as a given.
  6. That's even more vague then. Promotion/relegation/cup win does not come down to one subjective decision in a 90 minute match or an entire season. There is no way you could compensate for that, it'd be laughed out of court I'd imagine. I would have thought Liverpool could have pushed the replay option because the system actually defaulted and the owner acknowledged that, even then there was no further action other than an apology.
  7. Good point, agreed. I think it's religious beliefs from people who aren't religious though. We grow up thinking death is the worst thing that can happen because that's what we've been told from generations above us, who at some point were probably religious. 'You could go to hell!!' Yeh but dude I'm already in hell, living with my debilitating condition, the hell you speak of sounds alright compared to this. Interestingly, a ridiculous comment during the debate from a Jersey politician, who said if he were not able to play tennis every week, he'd want to die because life wouldn't be worth living. Very accurately sums up the calibre/empathy of politicians here.
  8. Jersey gives the green light to proceed with assisted dying legislation, with huge public support. I’m pleasantly surprised in a place that is dominated by conservative thinking. Hopefully a first step towards the religiously ingrained belief that death is the worst thing that can happen to you being dispelled, and assisted dying becoming the norm
  9. Interesting stat about the refereeing decisions of improving. I do wonder what the clubs actually think. I can’t imagine there’d be legal challenges due to poor decisions, we’ve seen Liverpool get hilariously done over at spurs, that would surely be cut n dried in court, but no legal action
  10. That's a great idea!!!! This is my third Euros in a row and whilst it is good, Europe is tedious and overpriced. Will go to the next one as it's UK but then out of Europe world cups only for me. Going to some random 50p a pint all inclusive bumhole TUI resort is something I have never thought of, but I can imagine being a load of cheap and easy fun!
  11. Way more money tho. My ST works out at around £21 per match. They’ll be charging three figure $ for entry level tickets. Plus new commercial markets for us. It’s workable for all 20 PL clubs.
  12. Harvey's is my favourite UK brewer. Will as usual 100% be going through the cask range at the John Harvey Tavern in Lewes when we have Brighton away next season
  13. Live fast die young, the man was a menace, lived everything to the absolute max. My first port of call when I was going somewhere totally random and he somehow had a box of tips from when he went there in 1973 or something. I’m going to Dortmund for a euro match in June and I was well looking forward to debriefing him afterwards
  14. **** sake, sorry to hear that. Very good move speaking to the renowned barrister, praying he can help you. Keep messaging on here if it makes you feel better, or not if it doesn’t. Goes without saying DMs are open, replies will ALWAYS be same day
  15. How did you get on today mate? Hopefully something promising?
  16. Not having a dig at McKenna at all, but I strongly dispute he's got 'strong managerial talent', and to be even in the same post as Pep and Thomas Frank is punchy. What he has achieved at Ipswich is extraordinary but I do not think he's a great manager. Watching the championship this season has been an eye-opener in how bad football at this level really is. Everyone has one way of playing and no plan B (including us), no physical ability, just Warnock type 'gerrintoem' abilities to razz up a team and make them care a bit. Teams in the PL will work him out, he'll have no response and Ipswich will go down. That's not saying he's a bad manager, but he's not elite (yet). Luton performing best out of the 3 is just like me performing best in our group of 4 men when Naomi Campbell was on our table at Mahiki in 2012. End result is failure. At least Luton went down tbf, unlike any of us that night
  17. Disagree, disagree, strongly agree. There's no way most managers would win the league with Man city, Man Utd and Chelsea have spaffed more money than them and are horrendous. We've seen first hand how truly diabolical a level of football the championship really is, with little to no tactical awareness or competent teams. You don't need a great manager just a great motivator to take someone out of that league. Ipswich will come straight back down next season, just like Luton, because everyone will work McKenna out within a few days and he is nowhere near good enough to combat that. Yes, Thomas Frank for three seasons and Irioala this season have been incredible. Would say the same for Gary o Neill at Wolves.
  18. The moaners will in charge of FT again.
  19. ****** hell mate. Genuinely, all the very best to you. Sounds unimaginably cruel. Take as much professional advice and experience as you can and try to stay level headed.
  20. Bloody well did in 2013 that’s for sure. Had a few exams in York hall, the overpowering stench of vaporub for 4 hours whilst you’re trying to concentrate
  21. These interviews are so inhumane. They’ve just had their heads knocked around for an hour, will have no idea where they are never mind what they’re saying
  22. Quality fight. Rematch apparently in October, will look into a Middle Eastern sojourn for that
  23. Haha me? Do you have the right person lol? Report back on Doha pls! Flown Qatar airways a fair bit, decent quality airline and brilliant connection airport.
  24. That sounds way more fun than the Canary Islands. You won’t get arrested and you don’t have to dress like a nun, don’t believe the media scare stories. You’ll be able to drink in hotels and licenced bars in muscat, not heard of the other place and never been to doha. Had a fantastic night out in muscat in 2015. It’s a different culture, explore, learn and enjoy
  25. I love it, had my stag there. An exceptional weekend
