  1. UK energy costs as a proportion of GDP are set to decline from 10% of GDP today to 5-6% of GDP by 2050 if the transition to a low-carbon system is well-managed. Net zero is the biggest profit making opportunity of our generation, we need to move the happy clappers who hate growth, profitability and progress and don’t understand what climate change is out of the way so the $$$$ start appearing
  2. They know they are a minor nation. I think it's all the jokes around the KO times, rather than the actual KO times, the poster is irritated by??
  3. Would go to Jersey bulls more as there's a good group of people there and it's a laugh. However they all do seem to be more concerned with talking about how amazing non-league is rather than actually enjoying the amazing non-league. Would go on a few away trips with them too if city didn't exist. No connection like with city at all though, i don't care if they win, lose or draw. It's solely a good social.
  4. Funnily enough you could pretty much exactly swap Paris/France for London/England in your post and that would be verbatim what my colleague Vincent in the French firm would say about his city. Familiarity breeds contempt and going to a city for a few days every year builds an unrealistic picture of what it actually is. That said I have been to Paris 3 times this year and it defo feels like it has cleaned up significantly. Obvs it cannot compare to the talk about about Texas/New Orleans above which is world renowned vibes and culinary delights, but it is not trying to.
  5. What did you get in the world cup? The game I got in the pre sale in LA is USA opening game! I wanna go to the west coast but now I’m thinking I could leverage them and swap for a match in Miami and PARTY
  6. That's a very interesting read. I don't know anything about the game, but when I was in the States I was intrigued by the college sports system. Huge crowds, huge TV audiences, my colleagues used to get together and watch games in the same sense UK people do for league football. The stadium where a lot of my colleagues graduated from (James Madison) was a 20k arena. But it's University sports teams... Do you mean the college teams are playing matches in Ireland and Wembley? I know the NFL play matches abroad but didn't know that had spread to College
  7. I was at the pub on Saturday whilst Rangers v *insert name of some sh1t Scottish team here* was on. It was horrendous, laughable. And I thought the champo was a joke. Even Luke Thomas would stand out at that level.
  8. 2 nights was enough in all. Houston was dangerous but lively, seemed like a proper fentanyl American city. Only went to Dallas to watch wwe, can’t remember much else about it. The best part about going to Texas is driving from city to city, stopping in a town like Schulenberg (template strip mall with McDonald’s, Taco Bell, chik fil a, Verizon) and watching their minds explode when you talk in an English accent
  9. Yep all 4 a couple of years ago for the f1. Dirty sixth in Austin is unmatched for atmosphere and fun bars but obvs it was f1 weekend. If you have time would consider going to New Orleans, completely unique experience.
  10. That’s not offside but hey the happy clappers who don’t want VAR must be happy coz it ‘ruins modern football mate the games gone mate shambles’
  11. What a finish by skipp. Our best cb and striker
  12. This is brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I do. When I was growing up it was highcross-soarpoint-mosh-las vegas-home. Now every time I come back there seems to be loads of options for leisure. Familiarity breeds contempt. Everyone I know who hates Leicester hasn't lived anywhere else and looks back at their golden youth before their dreams and hopes were crushed.
  14. If this is the case the best chino's are unequivocally scotch and soda or Brooks brothers. For the mass produced high st brands then it's uniqlo
  15. Melt seems like an accurate word to describe an M&S shopper
  16. Of the High st brands yeh defo Uniqlo.
  17. The cup game v Stuttgart tonight is 5pm ko, it's on ESPN for anyone who has a stick and wants to watch it.
  18. Ok back on trusted ground. Just fly anywhere East of Vienna and get a few years worth of clothes and shoes tailored. Much cheaper and it's more efficient to go directly to the sweat shops rather than paying layers of middle men for the privilege.
  19. Yuck. I no longer trust any of your pub opinions. Next thing you'll be saying you go on holiday to France
  20. I guess you read that scenario in the BBC article as well. Would be v interesting, wonder if Netflix have placed an order on this happening
  21. Council tax rise cannot be ruled out, says Reform UK’s top local government figure Left wing deranged nutjobs, we do not need to increase taxes to help the lazy and unwashed of this country who want things like free GP appointments. They can go to work and pay for services they use
  22. I hope this does not age badly.
  23. Sat in the sugar loaf for 6 hours. Meant to try braybrooke taproom but lost track of time gossiping with a mate. I will try braybrooke when next in Leics at Xmas
  24. What was antonelli doing?!?! Netflix season 1857589 will be v v good
  25. Yep I only went to harborough after the match for a couple of pints and both legs were delayed/disrupted
