True. Although, don’t think Braybrooke and Golding are fancied and both probably need L1/ L2 loans this season if they’re going to make it. Think Marti sees Hamza as more of a RB, and think it suits his skillset better. And Alves, BEK and Page have been used more advanced in the 10 position so far. So think we still need another 8/ box to box midfielder.

Have to get a replacement in surely. Winks/ Soumaré/ Skipp isn’t enough for the championship. Looks quality but would rather persist with Okoli and Nelson, and Spurs won’t send him to us just to sit on the bench…

Think Alves is better as a 10 than a winger. Not sure he has the pace to go past a fullback the same way Fatawu, Steph or Monga can, and ended up losing the ball a few times. But like that he worked hard to win it back, battled well and kept trying things, think he’ll be a good alternative to Bilal if he stays and should get plenty of minutes still. Also think Evans is better centrally as a striker. Again worked hard and quite physical given his age, but struggled to get by his man who was one of their better players in fairness. Think he’s a little further off breaking through but still good enough to be 3rd choice striker and starting for the u21’s, which isn’t bad at 16/17.

Overall first half summary: think we’ve looked decent out of possession, good pressing from the front 4. In possession we’ve looked pretty sloppy.

Wonder if they could be the two teams for Friday … Didn’t spot Ricardo or Monga in that? Good to see Nelson back playing, hopefully gets at least 45 mins

Would like Martí to try a few different combos in Friday’s game ahead of the new season. Personally think Page is more suited as a box to box 8 rather than a 10. And would also like to see Monga given a run on the right as well. We’re going to have to rotate Fatawu a bit due to his recent injury, so would be good to give Monga exposure on the right, and has played both sides at youth level. Feels like this will happen, Mads ex GK coach has just gone to Wham, he’d suit Potter-ball to a tee, and we need the cash. £20m should be the absolute minimum we accept, hoping for closer to £25m+

Believe Nelson is injured think someone mentioned it the other day. Also worth noting as someone said earlier, the games probably being used for those that have had minimal game time so far, so not worth reading too much into the lineup. Hopefully Fatawu gets a run out!!

And Omari Hutchinson angling for a move… Think they’ll still be pretty strong this season but can’t see anyone walking the league, imagine it will be fairly tight between Soton, Ipswich, Sheffield Utd, Us and Birmingham probably.

Série A teams would only offer loan with option they inevitably won’t take up. Lower wages and longer contract means he will likely stay. Unless we fail to shift any of Coady, Faes or Vesty in which case will probably have to loan him out to get at least one CB out the door. Sincerely hope this one isn’t the case!

Ricardo. Nelson doesn’t need the extra pressure at that young age when he’s trying to establish himself.

I know it’s not that simple but would be really intrigued to see McAteer up front. He’s quick, presses really well, decent finisher & positioning getting in the right places and is obviously huge so could offer a physical presence up top He’s also not particularly technical or great at beating his man so not a natural fit as a winger under Marti I wouldn’t have thought.
