Yes and it's something understandable given his playing style. Hes a good player, not necessarily have that attributes. His strength are pace, acceleration, and first time shoot. He also good in some other area and it is enough for him to become our best striker atm

1. about most of the name you mention, they have simmilar things in common. and not only they, but also with younger ranieri. what is that ? promising. the likes of zidane, scolari, and gatusso were already popular in their club as player. So it will be easier to getting more support from fans, just like we put shakespare in , yes hes not our player but also popular figure. Its worth trying. they didnt have poor track record anyway. So those potential coach can be hired with lesser wages and compensation should things go wrong, compared to already big name coach like Alex Ferguson. The same things were happened to Ranieri, whos look promising coach who promote fiorentina and helping napoli cope with financial crisis. so bigger team made a chance on this promising coach like chelsea, valencia, atletico madrid, juventus, as Roma. the difference between Ranieri and those name are, Ranieri are already experienced the spells at big clubs, so the big can judge him based on those previous result, which unfortunately, not convincing enough. while the likes of Gatusso, Scolari, are yet to put real stamps on their coaching. Zidane , fortunately, doing enough to be among the big name coach just like Pep guardiola first tenure at Barcelona. is midtable or top 10 reasonable ?? yes of course !! Hes not anywhere terible coach and not that great either. He is experienced coach. look at the CV above . and like what I already said, those place arent often got ambitious pressure which allow him to thrive. 2. Chelsea tenure wasnt perfect.. okay no problem.. mourinho win, well different with pearson and ranieri.. during mourinho, the chelsea team got paulo fereira, petr cech, Robben, Drogba, Tiago, Carvalho who would become the core of their team. Ranieri with Leicester, even theres new signing like Fuchs, Okazaki, they were signed by Pearson tenure. Kante were signed during Ranieri, while he preferred Mendy. 1 vs 7 , well different. chelsea didnt be one season wonder. their shocking brand new tactic were in thriumph for at least 3 season. And then took them at least 7 years to made it out of top 3, while they made comeback asap. their signing are still key part of the team for some years. He did build good foundation. leicester, after winning EPL, breaking transfer record multiple times. sounds simmilar with chelsea above, but somehow almost relegated. from those signing, almost all were struggling here and get sold. and why I attribute the success to his predescor and surrounding environment? I already mention. Majority of the player during title win are come from his predescor. We also are in 'different' situation or special ones. As I already mention, how many team in the history, have the so little number of injury and suspension that almost always played with the same lineup in every match whole season, then none of the backup player were complains for sitting on the bench almost whole season, while at the same time, all the big 6 team were outperformed ? , also at the same time, almost none of the team recognize our formula and played deeper defensive line? most of the time, a team who were made shock performance like us , will stop after half of the season, since the opposition made some formula to counter, and then theres no alternative, then the shocking performance stopped. somehow, no team did that to us ,instead ,wait for the next season. we have the luxury which will be almost impossible to happens in any other team in history. 3. When I read your post, you were said at how come the big club didnt hire him and instead only the likes of nantes and fulham. because of you only highlighting a single season, thats why I said you were overatte him. aye about you mention I'm 'silly', well theres another.sent out veron, who just recoverd from long term injury for 45th of crucial champions league matches, then drawing strikers for right back, only to bring on cb for that position later. there are many other things he did. this is just and example why did I mention this ? this kind of things really important for big clubs. one match in ucl knock out is really costly. many of his decision is bizzare for big club standarts which costly at some important points so those of experience will hinder him from further big club approach, unless he learnt from those experience and leicester experience, where should he tinker and not, then bring a mid team or bottom half team to constantly improve for long term, rather for just short term shock, then the big club will unlikely to consider him.

1. Passing. he made way more forward passes, completed passes, and assist. 2. Creativity. created more chances than the other 2 striker. also the assist mentioned before 3.Dribbling. have more take on success than vardy and okazaki, overshadowed by his first touch, which can improve as vardy did. 4. Potential. as he's still below 25, surely yeat to reach his peak. in case you want the stats http://www.squawka.com/en/comparison-matrix?matchPeriodType=ninety-minutes&c=p4906e190423,p12865e190423,p12864e190423&s=103,119,112,117,306,101 in case you want screenshoots and the stats are made in metrics since okazaki played far fewer matches than those two, so to be fairer

I never say terrible but rather not unconvincing enough for them. Big club wants to win something especially national league, which ranieri had already had fair share with those big club but only won like serie b, ligue 2. Never won highest national league title with those big club and later sacked. So it will be reasonable for those big club to be reluctant to hire him. His Chelsea tenure aren't perfect at all. I remember how he sub robert huth on as right wing back which cost them get knocked out from champions league when they are leading before. Mourinho come and bring 3 midfield with 1 holding which surprise the majority of epl sides. He also bring his player which would become the core of Chelsea team I never downplay our title win. I just write the fact here that our title win is happen not just because of him. We have amazing backroom staff, chairman, and majority of the signing was done during Pearson tenure. The 2nd season were magnify it how when the things turned different ways and he handle much more dominant task. I never says ranieri is terrible coach btw. I wrote before how fulham done a decent recruitment in him.he's just bit overrated

Yes so what? You read nothing about my post and just highlights that. Gary neville, jammie carragher, thiery Henry, Jonathan Wilson and many other pundits didn't need to be 'fans' just to talk about football. Personally I had follow some football club journey for some year when I found them interesting like Liverpool, man utd, stoke city, atletico madrid, and many more including this one, and only in 2017 I'm get convinced to be fans of this club. Those other club didn't. Everybody have right to follow some club without necessary become fans first. If everyone have to be fans before reading and following the club, then every club will just have local based fans rather than worldwide. Most outside people become fans after they exposed to the news, footage and many other things about the club.

One game are always enough hmm

Looking at the whole career of him, its reasonable. Yes leicester city epl winning is a miracle but that's the only time he won it. He didn't do with Chelsea,. Neither are juventus, roma, valencia. The circumstances around title win is also rare event. How could team like Manchester city, Manchester united, arsenal, chelsea, all have a bad season altogether? The amount of injury and suspensions we suffer is almost the lesser compared to another team in history that allow us to almost every match, have the same lineup. As soon as the new season start, he put his real stamps. He sack some of our important staff like sport psychology and says they aren't needed, disjointed our midfield by putting target man as first choice link up player, have no plans again enemy who nullify our counter attack threat, and many more. He inherit a good team and unable to build new chapter, neither improve it. The bigger team surely sees how he fare in big team he already had, and how he won the epl, and the season after. It might sounds harsh but the truth doesn't always sounds nice

I did understand we play with one striker of course. Most team did. Even Messis Barcelona who I mention did. And I never says he's better than Vardy at the moment. What I wanted to point out is that if we only consider few needed, not necessarily atributes, it will often misleading. I can made gray better than vardy by just highlighting dribbling, crossing, and flair and mention striker like Maradona, while we know how gray, when played as center forward, compared to vardy is way off.
-
Very mean post!
-
And the regular back 4 system. Pearson regularly rotate back 4 and back 3 the season before. Altough He might play more back 4 had he stay, as he signed fuchs, but we will never know I think he will do well in fulham. Heard they spend so much for new players. Ranieri really suited to the team that just need stability without much ambitious pressure.
-
Needed and necessary is different. You were solely highlighting those pace, workrate, and aerial duel. Even messi are weak in all of those 3 and still the key player in Barcelona. So we play possession game. We need passing and creativity. He's a striker, finishing is important, none of those you were talking to at all. You rate somebody just by picking random attributes. Pace could be gotten from the wings, workrate is important especially for defensive midfielder. Aerial duels? Whipped crosses, through ball, penetration will do, not just aerial. During set pieces, another position player can just fill the box. Those attributes are needed, yes, but not necessary. No every striker should be Ronaldo esque to thrive, especially for possession based. Even counter attack based didn't always need all of those 3.
-
Considering we are now not anymore a team who can only do counter attack, why only consider pace, workrate, and aerial duel?
-
Thats unfair comparison. Workrate is okazaki strength and nacho weakness. Its like compare wes morgan and demarai gray dribbling ability, surely favor one side. Or let say like this. How many goal and assist did he made? Nah

There's one mistery I would like to discuss here. I'm yet to get answer. Why he keep bring okazaki on instead of iborra? Okazaki isn't young talents, and isn't possession type of player. Iborra would at least offer aerial duels and better with the ball -
Guess you only watch the last 30 mins. Ghezzal run our midfield for majority of the match, involve in every attacking movement we did during first half.
-
I think, after those matches we played, there are something about our strikers. Vardy is still undropable. When he did, lot will out of their minds and start harrasing others who step up on his place. There's no time to settle. Give instant impact or be gone. No wonder during West ham, ghezzal have to be replaced with vardy in 45th despite he didn't even drop vardy but Ricardo. Iheanacho, while he has potential, up and down, given the circumstances, should go on loan. Vardy form is worrying and nacho are yet to be ready to quickly replace him. He need game time, experience, and most importantly, confidence. The last one is the most expensive as it can be worn off with the amount of pressure for whoever dare to step on vardy shoes right now. He has the quality for priemer league level, and not finished product. He need to get loaned to at least middle table team, in highest division of Europe league. Epl will be good, but others like scottish, or even serie a or la liga is good as well. Play week in and week out, so can develop like gray and Chilwell. And in the meantime, we can get a striker to push and be alternative for vardy. With puel reluctantce to give iborra license to get onto the opposition box during open play, might be good if the new striker were good in aerial duels and holding the ball Something like ulloa and slimani combined I hope it won't be something like 30 mill again.
-
No winger on the bench? Would rather have one than 2 striker.
-
Their 2 up were simmilar with our 2 up during title win season. One keep drop very deep to almost the edge of the penalty box during defence. If this happen again during this game and we play with back 3,then we need more flexibility in the back, with at least 1 capable to step forward, preferably as midfielder since our wingback aren't get used to cut inside.
-
The problem with that is, most. Epl sides and Burnley are like to put 1 striker with pair of winger. 3 cb for 1 striker is too much. While nobody of them able to step up as midfielder. 3cb for striker and winger will not so good as there are no additional men to cover the rest.

Ben Chilwell: A possible star in the making
Hanan96 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
He only need to learn passing and crossing better then nobody will be ahead him Adding more pace will be handy as well but not a must. His are good already -
This is player thread. Few slaters didn't mean the thread become slating thread. No urgent to close this as yet

That's mean both. It will be tricky to get one with such quality to play outside champions league. What a big miss he was
