  1. Looked world class last night, his touches were silky as fck. To add to that he was everywhere. He looks like a luxury player with the headless chicken workrate, which isn’t something we are used to down here. the second half he was flagging, no doubt - but I think the fact that he hasn’t played much in the last year can explain that, plus the knock could have been a factor. the midfield pairing last night where fantastic. Silva was my man of the match, with hamza a close second.
  2. I think we could make much worse appointments to be honest, this isn’t one that particularly scares me. From what I’ve heard Klopp is the face and Buvac is the thinker, the tactician etc. i certainly wouldn’t say no to a klopp-a-like. but then there’s the element of unknown. its a tough one really.
  3. And there lies the problem. Rudkin has been the problem for years, the owners just can’t see it. It’s a real shame. We will never move forward with Rudkin in and around the first team.
  4. The sheffield united fans got it spot on with their “football in a library” chant
  5. 100% agree. We should be supporting the team and being the 12th man that we were the season we won the league. It’s easy for fans to blame the manager, the players, rudkin - all of whom do need to take responsibility, but so do the fans imo. Shocking atmosphere for too long.
  6. Decent shortlist there, particularly joe Allen. i wouldn’t be sad to see most of the current squad go if I’m honest. Id like to keep vardy okazaki maguire silva ndidi everyone else I wouldn’t be too bothered about. But the players I’d especially like to leave are Musa James King mahrez kasper morgan huth Slimani and chilwell, Choudry and Barnes should be back up players at best, or be sent out on loan.
  7. Don’t really think it matters who is the “manager”. Until we let a manager actually be a manager we’re helpless. the problem isn’t so much the man in charge but the people behind the scenes imo. we need to bring someone in with a long term vision, and let them do the hiring and firing. Let them pick who we buy and sell, let them have input on scouting. Also we need to let them assemble their own team to deliver their vision. but none of this will ever happen until Rudkin either retires or dies. so having said that the only decent viable and realistic options available given the circumstance in my opinion are: Dyche Benitez Rogers But if there were by some miraculous peice of magic a huge overhaul and restructuring at the club we would have a lot more options. as mentioned in the thread though part of the issue is also the players. Too much player power and bad attitudes who decide to stop playing when they have an issue with the regime or the manager. Those who fit in to that category are not fit to wear the shirt, regardless of their service to the club. we need to rebuild from the ground up in my opinion.
  8. But his value will now start to depreciate. As time goes on his contract runs down, plus if he doesn’t play, or doesn’t play well, it will go down too. So it’s all well and good saying don’t accept anything less than 95, buy in reality we will probably be receiving offers south of 50m going forwards so it’s money lost.
  9. I think the owners have had a stinker here. 95mil is a bit greedy, especially for a player who doesn’t want to be at the club and could now cause unrest and hinder the rest of our season. a great player yes, but an absolute areshole. as a player I love Riyad, but I desperately want him out of our club. He’s a bad apple, he’s proven that. hes now saying he’s never going to play for the club again. How is that going to effect the players, especially the likes of gray and diabate when he gets the nod ahead of them? id have happily taken the 75 that was being banded about yesterday, maybe even 65/70 as 11pm loomed. i hope I’m wrong, but I have a worrying feeling our season is going to fall off a cliff after yesterday. man city are as much to blame as riyad, but that doesn’t make him innocent. He doesn’t deserve ou support anymore, we’ve let him off the hook too many times. its no good keeping players who don’t want to be here. Many will say that we were better to keep him than take what we were offered, but I tend to disagree with that notion. i could be completely wrong, and I hope I am and that he comes out firing and has a cracking second half to the season. But I fear we will once again see the mahrez we saw before puel came in.
  10. That makes it sound more genuine knowing rudkin?
  11. Patrick Roberts is a very exciting prospect, plays wide right with a left foot. I could be lazy journalism; but if it’s not I would accept 65+Roberts all day.
  12. Andy Impey spotted in Marios Chippy on Braunstone Gate last night. It’s happening. We have our replacement.
  13. I would personally go with Ben Arfa. Just because it’s the only real possibility that isn’t going to cost us the earth, and he’s a bloody good player. Yes he’s getting on a bit, but we’ve got some kids coming through in the wide areas so it doesn’t bother me too much. I just think with albrighton the only experienced wide man, it’s a lot to put on the shoulders of those young lads to expect them to turn in performances every game.
  14. I personally think we need to get someone in. We need a match winner as we could well be losing one. And with an extra spot available in Europe there’s a lot to play for, with massive financial rewards if we can manage to qualify. Makes sense to bring some quality in. granted the new lad could well be the replacement, but we haven’t seen him against quality opposition so it’s hard to judge.
  15. Is he not signing for Southampton? id also be very dubious about signing another winger from russia hahaha
  16. So who’s it going to be? zaha? Bailey? Ben arfa? surely we have to be lining someone up?
  17. Trying to find a definitive answer for us on wether he has travelled lads. My sisters boyfriend is an ex u23 player and very good friends with a current squad member. I have asked my sister to ask the question. If I hear anything you lot will be the first to know
  18. Really don’t want Vardy to go, but if he does we need to spend he money on CALLUM WILSON!!! hope someone at the club reads this and takes it on board, been crying out for this signing since he was at cov. doesnt have the “pest” aspect that vardy has, or the aggression, but is very similar to vardy in that he is very quick and plays in the shoulder. Powerful too, and only in his mid twenties. No brainier for me personally.
  19. Why did you have to remind us about palace???
  20. Maybe the public statement from puel saying he wants iheanacho has made a difference, maybe not. But hopefully that goal will give Kelechi a much needed boost, and a shade of confidence to carry forward. we’ve not been great, but let’s not forget the FA cup against lowly opposition is a completely different challenge. i remember travelling to Hereford years ago and we were shite etc etc I know there’s more examples than that. typically we cannot penetrate teams that throw men behind the ball, but we have done here, which for me is a huge positive.
  21. Needs to go out on loan that’s what he needs, away from our starting 11.
  22. He’s awful. Not good enough to be starting for us yet, I wish puel would stop insisting on giving him game time. He’s hopeless, not premier league quality. im all for a youth policy, but not for the sake of it. Players should be in the team based on merit, and merit alone.
