But they don’t have the quality out wide that we have. We have dangerous wingers who have goals in them. If we can bring the defenders out to occupy a false 9 with our wingers attacking the space it could be dangerous.
-
No strikers? No problem! The false 9 is on! mavididi/bek/monga down the middle sitting a bit deeper with the wingers pushed high and narrow could be interesting!
-
Really hope he decided to play two really high narrow wingers with a deep striker/false 9 type set up due to our lack of budget. We would be able to fit quite a few of our wingers/technical players in that way. Mavididi or monga down the middle would be sweet.

We have no safe options.

That’s what happens when you interview 18 managers. Is it scattergun haven’t got a clue, or is it a tactical smokescreen? We will never know. Rudkin masterclass in either brilliance or uselessness.
-
Is martin Allen up to much these days?
-
We are positive because we’ve been terrorised with the possibility of Gary O’Neill or Chris wilder managing our club mate. Anything other than that is a massive positive in my book. Things are literally so bad, that marti cifuentes, a manager we wouldn’t have pissed on if he was on fire a year ago, seems like a step in the right direction.
-
If there’s one thing to celebrate, it’s that the names are getting a bit more interesting that Gary O’Neill and Chris fkin wilder!
-
From what little I know of the managerial bo Svensson, if we have a chance of getting him, we probably need to take it. Im no expert on European football, but from what I know, he sounds like he could be better than anyone/most else linked.

Barca you say? No money to spend? FALSE 9 INCOMING!!!!!!

This is mental. meanwhile qpr and bagging julien stephan. i feel like im in a parallel universe. please make it stop.

So Many variables. In this order - Rohl, Dyche, Wilder, O’Neill. What’s sad is there’s loads more available managers than these run of the mill managerial merry go round clown that haven’t been linked. And obvious ones who meet the English experience like Hassenhuttl and Marsch, who I would take over all of those mentioned apart from Rohl, haven’t been linked at all.
-
Is that a “Rudkin look” where you just call your uk based agent pals about free British based managers with experience in this country? Europe, and the wider world has an abundance of young-ish, out of work managers that we would be well suited to appointing. Problem is, both top and rudkin missed their last specsavers appointment as rudders was too busy showing off his lack of gag reflex.
-
Probably the worst appointment we could make. If we want someone recently retired that has failed in a top league I’d rather go with Nuri effin sahin😂
-
Gary Oneill said that wolves side was the worst he had worked with; I wish I could remember some of his quotes. Wait til he meets this lot!
-
One interesting name on that list is Jesse Marsch. I didnt vote for him, but I still firmly believe that if we would have got him instead of Dean Smith, we would have been better off. He would certainly have us pressing and attacking. I’d have him over Dyche and Wilder. I guess Marsch and Hassenhuttle sit just under Rohl for me. I just want to see us press and look hungry.

I agree mate, but on the flip side of that, if we look at what panic buying has done for us in recent years, I’d rather not do that. Even though we need a few players, ideally they would be players that fit what we need. Now that can be achieved without a manager, but I also suspect we need to sell before we can buy. Just looking at the bodies, our squad is full. Especially if you count the young ones that we all want to be part of the main group. We literally need a fire sale, and to then bring in just a couple. We currently have Ayew, Daka and Evans as strikers. I can’t see us signing another until one of those has gone. And even then, I think it will be one striker not two. Which tbh, I wouldn’t be against because it would hopefully see Evans get minutes. stacked for wingers, stacked for defenders. Like you said, a midfielder would be a nice addition and something we need. Though I think a lot of it depends on outgoings.
-
I suspect we are subject of a takeover bid, or the owners are looking to sell. If this is the case, I really don’t mind us just sticking with what we have until it’s sorted. I’d rather that than a new owner come in and need to piss away more money sacking staff to get “his man”. Same goes for players really. No point buying players until we know who our owner will be, know who the manager will be, and know what we need to fit our “vision”.
-
I think we will see the club up for sale soon. Everything’s that’s happening at the moment, it isn’t happening to be more specific, points towards a change in ownership.
-
Yes, but the squad is still full regardless of their value. We wont sign a striker whilst we have Daka and Ayew on the books, as Evans is also coming through. That isn’t how the owners work. It’s the same across the squad really. We are stacked. Until we move players on, we won’t be bringing players in. Given our financial predicament, the hierarchy won’t allow for there to be players rotting in the reserves whilst receiving inflated salaries.
-
We’ve got about three millions players mate. We can’t buy until we sell, which will also generate money as well as free up spaces. We don’t want anyone blocking the pathway of the young lads.
-
Not actually that bothered about incoming signings lacking, and the slow process of manager recruitment hampering that. Our recruitment is terrible anyway and we just waste money. quite happy to shift whoever we can and replace with the young lads coming through, at least they will put in an effort.
-
I’d have Hassenhuttl over Dyche, wilder, O’Neill etc. he’s behind Rohl though.
-
Agree with this. for those in the know, compilers of infamous “lists” etc, what are realistic out of work foreign options looking like these days?
-
Of all the terrible decisions in the last few years, Chris wilder would top them all.
