Mcateer is a prime example of how much a player can progress when he's thrown in and given that chance. No one would have said that lad with 1 in 18 for Wimbledon mainly at wing back should be out starting winger for the first Championship match. Okay he hasn't gone on to show he is going to be Premier League quality, and the jury is even out on Championship at times. But if he wasn't thrown in then he would likely have been League One or Two at best right now. Massive what it can do to give them a chance at the right time. You can easily end up being set back years by the way we treat some of our younger players.

So all those signings you list are a massive part of why he then couldn't sign anyone for his rebuild. A rebuild I assume you think he'd suddenly have got right despite no track record of improving the squad? No one can doubt the football we played under him was one of the best, if not the best we have seen. But I have never seen a manager detach themselves from the problems at a club in the efforts to preserve their reputation like Brendan did. It was absolutely disgusting the way he conducted himself and it was one of the main reasons we went down. The fact he, and the man who scored my favourite goal of all time did so much to ruin their status here is typical Leicester. That relegation was the most avoidable in history. Yet not one of these clowns at board level had the ability to stop it. Now we are paying the price for years. Don't ignore Brendan's role in it. He's as complicit as anyone.

Rudkin and Top all season -

It's far from popular to say but Daka has a much higher ceiling than he's shown here, and I hope for him that he does recapture it somewhere in Europe. It's clearly not going to happen here. Still think we could have got way more out of him and Nacho in the last championship season. Especially Nacho, who was a disgrace. If we're comparing all round game potential then it's obvious Daka is better than Akinbiyi ever was. The game has also moved on massively since 2001. Akinbiyi wouldn't even have got that move to us now.

Love the idea that if Akinbiyi had the chance to stay pad, he'd add 4 away in Moscow 😂
