It's an elite price of business. The scouting team have pulled off an absolute blinder here. The lad will play at the very very top.

I thought he played OK. Not a massive fan but thought he played some good balls into midfield

Extraordinary how we see games through our own lens. Not having a pop, but I thought the chasm between us was as big as possible first and second to be. It looked more like a top v seventh type game. And you bummed a fluke which on huff and puff versus our third gear, you could argue was deserved. We pay our players 65m a year. So, I don't take any particular glee in being better. Pound for pound your performance is immense. -
Hard to work out how and why we concede so many fluke late goals. Brum, Ipswich both deflections and West Brom Sheff Weds both hit and hope pinballs. I accept this is a bit of a weird.comment / weak argument,.but are we victims of our own success? We outplay teams so much that the opposition and crowd get so excited by a corner or throw in and/or elated that they are only a goal behind (when, such as at Brum, they should've been 6 or 7 down). The only.answernis to learn nasty streak and really put out foot on the throat. We haven't yet developed that brutal side.

Agree that Winks, Wilf and KDH all need a rest. But playing Casadei is absolute suicide. He's a disaster. Not all his fault but every time he comes on, we instantaneously get worse. Where tf is Praet again? Fckn always AWOL. We need to try and limp by v Cardiff with Hamza, Praet (assuming he's not sulking) and Ricky in midfield (forcing a rethink for the right back / midfield role...maybe Doyle can do that from LB?) Basically anything but Casadei and Yunus -

They ain't the second best team in the league. They are currently in second but they haven't anything more to them than a Hull, Watford or West Brom -

Same. Wasnt keen pre match but thought he was pretty decent and played some clever angled balls into midfield. -

Watched a different game to me. We are in every sense leagues above them. We were leggy and sloppy second half admittedly but in every aspect we were better. The were able to equalise only courtesy of a horrendous penalty decision and an absolute fluke. That's Hull, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Sheff weds who've managed to take points offa us, all thanks to - in the proper sense of the word - extraordinary goals. Even Leeds' had an element of luck -
One or two good things but he's an absolute danger to us. There's a rightful dread when we see he's being brought on.

Easily motm. Bu an absolute mile..They have it to an unknown Ipswich lad!

How on earth have they accumulated this many points? They are absolutely rank average. Second best team ever after 24 games? It's preposterous. I don't buy this 'they deserved it' routine...apart from one cut back near the end they never had a serious chance. -
Agreed. Doesn't mean we will of course. Just means we should win. It's exactly what I thought weeks ago - they look a big standard championship side, presumably riding on a wave of confidence
-
I watched a Brum vlogger after our match and was amused and surprised how upbeat they were after (incorrectly) seeing the game as close. It was a perfect study of hope over experience
-
Don't fancy that tbh. I thought JJ was a banker to play as they brought him off early on Saturday and brought Souttar on. The only way JJ could/should be dropped is if Hamza is in at the back for his recovery pace.

I'm pleased other people noticed him. He's the first player this season if any opposing team I've thought, wow, this is a genuinely good player (in a strange way, I do and don't miss that from the PL, watching good players from the oppo) He had Fatawu in his pocket and straight after our opening goal, showed he could attack too. I Googled him after the game, which shows how impressive he was! -
LCFC must offer General Sale to fans

I'm starting to think the only progress with the club on this is a compromise (though they don't do compromise) Tickets are available only to members Membership can be bought prior to any game for a notional fee - say 20 quid adults (I'd prefer a tenner, but that's not gonna happen). Certain category games exclude new memberships with tickets, ie big teams and local derbies The reduced revenues from membership fees are recovered via season tickets, ie a 20 quid surcharge is added to all STs for a club member status Because of that, the membership package should be rebranded, so it feels much more of a cricket club or building society membership. Maybe a solitary share of the club can be awarded to the membership. -
That property in Mayfair would be worth the GDP of a small country
-
Anyone getting that feeling that Southampton are gonna be the one to slide into second? Coming up on the rails nicely whilst Ipswich and Leeds concentrate on each other

M1 half empty today. What a joke. A simple social media message and they'd have been gone. The club simply don't want it. Maybe a chant of 'what the fckn hell is that?' aimed at M1 would start to draw attention to this farce. -
Think people might underestimate what defensive work he does for us when defending a break/transition. He's very good one on one and quick. If you notice, he rarely (if ever) dives in. He delays, forces slightly away from goal, delays, then maybe has a nibble and out for a throw....all the time allowing Faes and Vesty to get back into shape.

Fckn hell..I forget how bad VAR is. It's a despicable intrusion into the game.. surely all of us would prefer honest bad decisions. Chris Wilder btw looks like a old dad on his second marriage, watching his kid at a Sunday morning match. -

I agree. It's absurd. I wasn't condoning it, just trying to work out why the club are so weird....sledgehammer/ Nut stuff. Also an admission that, coz they can't keep their own house in order, rather than sort that out, they'd rather punish their own occasional fan base and jeopardise nurturing future long term supporters. -

The only justification I can think of is that the club's leadership, ie Whelan, has a report and remains of the belief that there are more arrests when general sale is made. So general sale is blocked. if middle management go against that order from the top, their own jobs are on the line as they try to explain why there was trouble on their watch, when they'd been specifically told to block general sale. It's the only plausible excuse I can think of for such obstinacy. -
In a roundabout way I brought this up yesterday on another thread the total sycophancy that seems endemic inside the (non football ops) club. Nothing is challenged. Decision making painstakingly avoided. Statements and media scrutiny blocked. All top (no pun) down management. Homage must be paid to our dear leaders, North Korean style.

The Mercury should jump on this and ask the difficult questions. Whatever anybody makes of the decline of a once great powerhouse of a local newspaper (the mercury was right up there with Manchester and Yorkshire and Glasgow/Edinburgh for circulations for 50 odd years til the 2000s) it always was a campaigning newspaper. Maybe the editorial has gone to pot but Jordan Blackwell seems a talented lad. Even if he prints a simple 'the club declined to comment' he could run a price on this
