  1. It's the tough games where playing to - and absolute belief in - a system really comes in handy.
  2. Our accent. It is understated, underrated and cool af. Vicky Park Asians - been both good and bad for us Should've been the Granby Halls City, Tigers, County The Haymarket. Squalid, ugly, down at heel. Popular. Negativity. Edit; our old 1950s council estates. The Saff. Monsell. Braunstone. New Parks. Mowmacre hill/Stocking Farm. Thurnby Lodge
  3. By that reckoning then, if we win the next game, there are only 11 realistic winners of the tournament left. And by the team the QF comes, promotion should be all bit mathematically done. Let's have a real pop at this.
  4. Gary Mabbutt appears to have turned in to Bob Monkhouse
  5. Fantastic description. And you are right, the waters flow differently over time. As a kid of the 80s, forest and Cov were always the two. Cov mainly of frustration, as such a non entity of a club could constantly finish above us. One addition to your excellent summary, forest of the sixties and seventies were far more Nottingham city than they are now. Now the fanbase, like ours is county based, is Nottinghamshire too. These godforsaken notts pit villages have nothing in common with the city of Leicester or rural Leicestershire market towns .....their instinctive rivalry is with a.mirror image county on the other side of the M1 - similar god forsaken northern type pit / mill towns I think however the next 20 years will see Derby left behind, in the way football left the likes of Preston, Blackpool and Huddersfield behind
  6. From what I can recall of the Cardiff keeper, he looked perfectly average. Which is waaaay above Ward's level. I've reconciled myself to it. He'll be here til the end of his contract and will be consigned as the most expensive keeper in history; 12.5m, around 11m wages and around 125m in lost revenues.
  7. I think they are harmless. I like them not liking us. But I actually quite like them - they've been through the ringer these last 20 years and come out of it fairly well. As for that red filth....it is pure, distilled hatred. I honestly would rather they were wiped off the face of the earth.
  8. Good manager. Solid appointment.
  9. I fancy us for a run all the way, with a fair wind. Man City v Liverpool ideally. Arsenal out Anyone else - spurs, villa etc - is doable.
  10. I see this Sunderland lad has been cleared of rape. Presumably the bollox told by the bird will go unchecked. It's a real conundrum for the legal system tbh. They want to take allegations of rape super seriously and provide reassurance to complainants but - and I can say with absolute first hand experience - there are women who abuse the trust and make spiteful, vindictive allegations with absolutely no fear of any blowback.
  11. Agent talk. His agent has identified one of the worst keepers ever to play in the PL, Fotheringham, to try and make the link vaguely plausible. There isn't a chance Ward leaves. Absolutely nada. Those 26 games have essentially destroyed his career. He's better off out of it and best suited to being the world's highest paid warm up assistant and cone carrier
  12. I don't get the fuss over the Brighton boyfriend song (which is funny. Childish, but funny) nor the Chelsea rent boy songs. The law involving themselves in that. ..while Rome burns etc
  13. Tbf, I wrote him off before I'd even seen him kick a ball. I'm a reasonable man. Not yet convinced but far more convinced than when I first hadnt seen him
  14. ...and a 'firm' wearing shirts?
  15. That's the most likely scenario, however after the resurrection of Vestergaard, nothing should be ruled out. It's possible we may insist he stays, as we want him there as a squad option, whether he likes it or not.
  16. Mate. That's magic. Post of the year contender
  17. It's not about desire. He isn't good enough. I feel awful - as I'm sure many do - for being so blunt about a nice Leicester lad whose family are on here too. But to me,.from day one, he's never looked good enough. There have been moments I've wobbled and seen him put in really intelligent performances, but then, next game, he'll be the slowest, weakest,.least skilful player on the pitch.
  18. Those who walk out are buzzed by strictly or ant & decs takeaway. That's where their passion lies. Effing and jeffin at Craig revel horwood
  19. Go down a Launderette? Aren't the cylinders massive there? Stick it on a cold / gentle wash
  20. Batmanjelly gone. Presumably will be cremated - along with about 10 million quid stuffed in every gown
  21. His set up v us a few weeks ago was staggering in its naivety. They 'had a go' which caused us to break sweat in fairness for the opening 15 mins, but it was pure luck in the end that Brum didn't get bummed by 6 or 7. It was tactical suicide and played directly into our hands.
  22. True. But you can't coach lack of pace though.
  23. Yup, on paper it's ridiculous. But our full strength side is possibly lower mid table PL standard but with the added weight of confidence. It's not absurd to imagine Brighton, Palace, Everton, Wolves getting to a final. Tbh, I'd play a massively rested team but so will Millwall and I'd love us to have a pop at this. By the time the business end of the competition comes round, we will be as good as up anyway
