Another one to echo the view that JJ is really looking mustard atm He's out best defender, the recovery run pace, the delaying tactics and at championship level, I'd go as far to say he's almost unbeatable at one on one defending Pity he's had his attacking wings clipped, us having dispensed with full backs.

Noticed M1 today was 90% full at the end, rest of the ground had lost 25% Season ticket holders need.to recognise their responsibility to 'the cause' and not just go through the motions (me included)

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
Paninistickers replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
On that note, when's Jewry Walk due for reopening? Places like Bath (admittedly pretty spectacular) and York make a whole industry out of their roman/viking history....so far as I know, we are the only big UK city with extensive Roman remains and it barely gets a mention. -
I'm glad to hear it. Though I've read many people describe him as rude or standoffish in the past, which I find hard to visualise. I wonder if it depends on how people approach him? Maybe interrupting for a selfie whilst he's having a nice meal brings a different response to a polite 'hello gary'' on a chance meeting out and about

I just looked at same thread, 2023. I didn't have a good one resolution wise. Got two (the easiest ones) of the five ticked off. Thanks to @Nalis for leaving us some fanny, I really got to actually talk to birds (without actually trying to pull) and bin off dates via dating apps. And yeah, I know I know, calling em birds is part of the reason I'm single blah blah To take a couple of gambles this year. I sway from periods of being ultra risk averse to taking calculated risks in life. Last year was far too risk averse.

Yeah, I agree. His overall schtick is self deprecating and the gentle ribbing he gives his co hosts on motd, all part of his style.. It's just that, in City's case, his overly modest, overly grateful style doesn't do us any favours and reinforces the old Leicester perception

Assuming you are flying into east mids the bus into Leicester is two quid a pop. Takes about an hour. Plenty of casual but glitzy looking restaurants near to your hotel (up from the station) for a new year's eve out. Mainly indian, Turkish type gaffs but enough to feel as if it's a night out for your lad. As for game, yeah, 25 mins walk max. Either via the city centre / de mont uni /river (nicer walk) or walk via the inner ring road towards tigers ground (less scenic!) -
It's stark, isn't it? We've elevated away from the West Brom / Middlesbrough / Norwich type perception to a whisker away to a West Ham / Newcastle / Leeds / Villa level. Add Gary Lineker, bless him, who also still thinks we are punching and as such makes constant self deprecating remarks - well meant modesty, I guess - but bad for business.

JJ is starting to find his peak form. He's quietly going about his business defensively - to the point he appears to win every duel (stats people feel free to correct this!), win every footrace. I'm unconvinced Enzo fancies him though. Luke Thomas is rightly finished. I'm interested in VK next season. We will have every contractual right, and the financial comfort zone, to pull rank and insist he's part of the squad. It's possible he may fancy it, having seen the project and re-enters pre season training with the camp in positive mood.

He has a terrific ability to take the ball on at full speed and collect it in his stride. Peak Vardy style - no higher compliment. Even better, when the ball is awkward, he can sometimes bully it to get it under control - last night's first goal being a good example..

Singing advice isn't my speciality, but last night lacked a lingering 10 minute simple call to arms... In the old days, midway through second half you'd have a 10 minute rendition of 'brian littles blue white army' ....Leeds do it with the champions of Europe thing and forest I hate to say do that fckn everywhere we go (which tbf at our place last year we humiliated them with a counter version when 4-0 up)

I'd suggest that Ipswich would have to replace all eleven players - and us none - if they were to even have a chance to overtake us in the PL, style suited or not

Then the formula is far too basic. For example, KDH's one on one with a defender chasing alongside was rated as 0% xG yet would ordinarily result in, say 25% tackle / 25% save / 25% goal / 25% foul (75% chance of being given, and then a 75% chance if that being scored) -
Cardiff away - 29th December (7.45pm)

If your mate is happy to give you the tix, can't he lend you his ID too? Ask your Mrs to pick up your ticket with your ID. All else fails, walk into the Cardiff ticket office with your booking confirmations and say that City have ballsed up your tickets. I kinda enjoy a good blag to get in. A deadly cocktail of politeness and persistence tends to work! (Except with city ticket office staff) -
Fair enough, I just checked Wikipedia. Last 51 years, 15 in the top flight in one single stretch from the mid 80s, 27 in the second tier and 9 in the third tier. Still pretty ordinary.

It's like the Freemasons down there. How does that help a tourist? Family member visiting from out of town who fancies it as a one off? A family in, say, Kettering or Peterborough that doesn't have Leicester connections? -
Always been tinpot. Regular third division club in the 70s 80s and 2000s. Only ever been in the top division for around 8 seasons in the last 50. They got the reflected glory of a bigger club perception courtesy of the stadium being used for FA Cup semis - but that's long since gone

Not digging you out in particular, but the clamour for Cannon on here is a bit weird. None of us have seen him play more than 10 minute cameos three times. On each occasion he's looked, frankly, slow, weak and out his depth. Plus the abuse Kels is getting from others is strange. I saw him play his usual pitch perfect pass forward to Mavididi and some neat ball juggling to set up KDH (I think, I've forgot who it was to tbh) and was no more anonymous than our strikers usually are in this system

Totally agree. The TV games over the weekend can be spread over Saturday, NYE and New Year's Day. The cramming in of fixtures is a hangover from the old days of getting a big crowd in for a big gate receipt. It's not needed at this level anymore.

To give it some context, can you imagine de montfort hall A) refusing to publicise tickets for jack and the beanstalk B) demanding you buy a membership of the de mont to allow you to buy tickets to jack and the beanstalk C) eventually allowing people to buy tickets for jack and the beanstalk but only if the buyer has evidence they went to see Jools Holland there three years ago- 682 replies

Ipswich (A) 1 - 1 - Boxing Day - Post-Match Thread
Paninistickers replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree and I was giving Ipswich a back handed compliment by comparison with past champions. They aren't at that level and I'm amazed there are tracking better. A fairer comparison is past promoted clubs; Burnleys and QPRs and Forests etc. That's their natural level. They are waaayyy over performing and credit to them for that. But, regardless of last night's result, they simply aren't at our standard (and nor should they be, we have Pl players and wage bill) -

Hallelujah. Someone else saw the same. It's frankly staggering that til now, have accumulated more points than stand out champions of the past; us, wolves, reading, Newcastle, Fulham etc .... There is no way on earth they are that level. They simply haven't got the quality. They've got the luck and confidence and momentum but they ain't at the level of those past champions in a million years. Southampton will overtake these within weeks. -
We've conceded late v Ipswich, Sheff Weds, Millwall, Brum and West Brom - basically in six of our last nine games or so. Most of them 'flukes' .... which, is kind of difficult to mitigate against. It's actually very strange. The opposition can basically only score down to chaos. The point I was making is that, somehow, despite being outplayed, we allow the opposition to retain hope. We need to rub their noses on it.

Yeah, we lost two points last night down to no VAR. But I'll take it. The thing is absolutely appalling.
