  1. According to Fotmob, we've created 104 big chances and missed 58 of them. That's a conversion rate of 44.2%. I suspect the perception of our poor finishing is a combination of recency bias and the fact people don't remember chances as proportions, they just remember that we have missed some big chances.
  2. Choudhury just isn't good enough on the ball to play inverted. Raikhy has been pretty poor as well. Without those two positions playing well, it becomes so hard for us to move the ball forward.
  3. Just had a look and the only player they have based outside of Bangladesh plays in the Argentinian third division. I think it's fair to say Choudhury would be their best player by a country mile.
  4. Wow, what's the issue with Antwerp atm?
  5. 9-2 is the sort of scoreline you see in an under 10s match, not professional football
  6. That's because his full name is Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

I agree, tbh I think finishing as a skill is overrated. Very few players consistently (i.e., over several years) outperform their xG (and not always the players you think of). The far more important skill is being able to find space and have the sharpness to make those chances.
  8. Looked tidy enough, my only complaint would be that he didn't show enough for the ball when he inverted into midfield. I would imagine that's just confidence/getting used to a higher level though.
  9. Might have just felt Sheffield was the best option open to him, rather than feeling above this level?
  10. It's defo the second tier. We haven't averaged 347 goals against in our time in the Championship
  11. Could be to amortise it over the length of a three-year PL accounting period? IDK if that's how it works
  12. I knew about one other City supporter growing up in Oakham.
  13. Yeah, we also saw Praet up front briefly at the start of the season. I reckon McAteer would be the other option.
  14. Be interesting to see who comes on if Cannon has to come off at some point
  15. i have some sympathy for danny rohl, completely turned wednesday's season around
  16. It's not a finishing issue as such, more he just doesn't get into good enough goal-scoring positions as often as Mavididi, say. Over time, that'll come.
  17. KDH wasn't on the pitch at this point, it's Praet who plays in Ricardo down the left. Other than that, you're spot on.
  18. so many wingers play on the opposite side that its far less important defensively to be outside-footed. i think these days, the main reason full-backs play on the correct flank is to make crossing and playing in field more easy.
  19. *even if you compare like for like, since he has so much of the ball, JV completes more long balls (and at a slightly higher rate)
  20. he's never put out passing numbers anywhere near close to vestergaard. at stoke, on average he played fewer, longer passes less accurately than vestergaard. he is also dispossessed/miscontrols about four times as often. obviously, vestergaard is having a very good season and souttar's last full season was 2020/21, but souttar hasn't shown enough at any point to suggest he can do the same job.
  21. from an attacking sense, i think that was one of our better games this season. sometimes slow at the back, but the change of pace when we chose to move forward was better
  22. The only thing Fatawu isn't great at there is getting into goalscoring positions - which he seems to have started doing now
  23. Ndidi's movement is so good
  24. Actually it shows 0.54xG p90 for Vardy and 0.62 for Nacho. The only player above either is Szmodics, who's at 0.6. If we played one of them exclusively instead of splitting minutes half n half, its quite possible we could have the top scorer in the league.
