  1. He put in a good defensive shift “today” (yesterday) while he was on the field. I distinctly recall one covering header on the back post (on which he was fouled) after our entire defense had been caught out, earning backslaps from Faes and the other defenders. In fact, his red came from trying to stop a break after we carelessly lost the ball, albeit a bit OTT - although IMHO the optics were probably worse than the actual tackle, and on another day and under different circumstances (without just following the PK, more sensible officiating, etc.), more likely a yellow. Even on the Coventry fans’ forum, many thought it should’ve been a yellow.
  2. Iheanacho is now at AFCON
  3. Dude, it’s the SAME tackle. You get a red in the box while making a tackle and it’s a pen - regardless of where the ball ended up
  4. He was going a good job defensively
  5. Exactly! There couldn’t possibly be any legitimate concerns about a potential sicknote…
  6. Not for me - at the money they’ll likely be asking for. Initially impressed, but more I have actually watched of Jack Clarke, the less impressed. Perhaps he’s reached his ceiling at Sunderland and needs a new challenge elsewhere (where he’s not the main man).
  7. He’ll probably let it slip through his fingers…
  8. Look, we can tie ourselves up in semantics - “push”, “shove”, “minimal contact”, etc. (perhaps you can share a formula for what crosses the “minimal” threshold), but it was a case of a player intentionally reaching out and pushing an opposing player running with ball in the back inside the box, and until that’s legalized it’s a foul and hence should’ve been a penalty. Someone above said it’s a contact sports as if that translates to any and all contact being allowed. Anyway, what’s done is done (and thankfully we still ended up with the W), so we move on.
  9. By definition they all are
  10. They are not allowed to push each other in the back…
  11. Stonewall penalty! A push in the back is a foul and a foul in the box should be a PK. It’s fine and dandy to consider it “soft” but that’s because it’s a soft push/foul and not because it would’ve been a soft call. If it had cost us the game (or a game that really meant something much more important to us), I’d have been fuming.
  12. Streaming on ESPN+ in the US
  13. Agree. He did great on loan at Preston.
  14. IMO we need a back up for Winks (who’s probably played every game that’s he’s been available for thus far), but unsure this dude fills the bill
  15. We won’t exactly be “testing our strength against the current PL sides” at Millwall on Saturday. IMHO, simply treat each game on its own merits.
  16. Standard FT fare. Comforting to know some things won’t be changing in the NewYear!
  17. Or get active in the January window
  18. Was limping somewhat when he was substituted in the Cardiff game.
  19. Personally, I’m ambivalent. Frankly, the best thing about the game is according us a nearly 2-week break before the next league game. Otherwise, couldn’t be bothered.
  20. He was limping somewhat when he was substituted in the Cardiff game
  21. Give Canon and Doyle more playing time, but otherwise rotate as much as possible… Stolarczyk Choudhury, Coady, Vestergaard (Nelson), Doyle Praet*, Casadei, Yunus Albrighton, Cannon, Wanya *If Praet is still unfit, then regrettably Winks (Alves?)
  22. LOVELY JUBBLY!! With Ipswich (and Southampton).drawing today, stretches our lead at the top of the table to 10 points…
  23. There’s commentary on Foxes Hub
