Agreed. The title winning season is just that one sporting miracle, a complete isolated incident where the stars aligned… that was a very different kind of love, a one hit wonder type of affair. With Enzo you can see him wanting to build something, it’s project he’s passionate about…. What we need to make sure though, is that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet, he can’t be shackled, his visions need support otherwise it won’t work.

Can’t exactly write him off after this season. But I have reservations about his ability to be this comfortable in the premier league. With more aggressive pressing and better quality of attackers he’s liable to get found out a lot quicker.

I thought this the other night, the way defenders tend to stand off in one on one situations he will have them on toast, plus there’s not much parking the bus going on. He’s seriously stepped up in recent months and at times is unplayable. I just hope he follows more of the Mahrez path, and not so much other players who’s torn the championship apart but then struggled in the PL.

If there is an element of appearance’s then it’s probably more to do with the fact we don’t really want him all that much, there’s better out there than him, he hasn’t set the world alight.

This can be applied to anything can’t it? It’s the whole “youth of today” argument has now morphed into “cultural changes or cancelling culture”…. Over the last decade I’d say there’s been a noticeably more emphasis placed on this theory, across all walks of life. Rather than suggest that things are “not the same as they used to be” which I think we can probably agree was our grandparents suggesting things are not as good as they used to be, it’s more of an “things have changed”… Like I eluded too in an earlier post, in the last 20-30 years international football has been more widely available for us to see, and those who were raised in the era of Sky will be more accepting of the wider football culture, and now you can see this, as it forms the fundamentals of our game. The game has evolved with the times, just the way it is.

Isn’t a great coach? Southampton are currently steam rolling towards us at a rather frightening rate…. Has they not had their rubbish start, I think they would be comfortably top. I am genuinely concerned that they will overtake us, we’re definitely more susceptible to slipping up. Can’t fault him at the moment.
