Farke would get you up. He just can’t cut it at PL level. He would get this side playing to its strengths though.

James reminds me of Muzz. The way he moves around the pitch, his variation of goals. Just needs to work on that killer dead ball delivery. Still never seen a player have the ability to put the ball directly into the danger area with pace every single time.

We’re that ridiculous I can genuinely see us asking if Brendan if he fancies a return.

Leicester City vs Stoke (H) 22nd Nov 3pm - Pre match

They will batter us. -
Very true, which appears to be a problem here….. players having the ability to run to Top…… which was clearly an issue with Cooper!
-
It is but the right manager can change that culture. I don’t think Marti has the dressing room on side, the body language of the players and overall demeanour suggests as much. Regardless of players attitudes, if they buy into their managers philosophy, their game improves. It’s down to man management….. it’s like dressing a salad, who actually likes eating leaves? Well dress it with Gravy and no one will eat it…. Dress it with a nice salad dressing and even those who don’t like salad may try it, like it, and eat it…… This is the type of manager we need at the moment….. someone who can appeal to the personalities within the group over their own philosophy…… you see it time and time again. Marti is trying to carry on implementing his way, whilst he’s getting resistance from the players….. it will never end well.

That’s all well and good, but tactically he is hideous…. He is trying to play in a way what isn’t to the players strengths, he’s getting the side to play to his preferred way and it’s killing us. He always picks the wrong side, can never get it right, and we’re so slow, unimaginative and ineffective and statistically are one of the worst sides in the league. It’s not necessarily his fault, because he plays a certain way and that’s it, it’s firmly Top and Rudkins fault for hiring the wrong type of manager, again. The players showing a bit of initiative will spare him….. he should be sacked this weekend, and we simply have to go for a manager who will maximise the potential in the team…… we would probably be doing much better if we abandoned the desire to play perfect football all of the time, when we don’t have the resources to do it, and became a bit more gritty and direct. Any other team we would have lost that game, we only won because it’s Norwich, they’re below average…. They’ve now lost 8 home games in a row…….. and we only narrowly beat them, and looked garbage for about 80 minutes….. there’s no positives to take from that…..

Hope he isn’t badly injured. We’ve looked so much better defensively in general with him in the team.

Norwich 1-2 LCFC, post-match thread

The warning signs are firmly there for me. Today, an exceptionally shit side spared out blushes. It was another utterly garbage performance…. I enjoyed the fact we got a late winner, but the 80 minutes before were extremely concerning again. -

Nope. My mind is firmly made up. And we will be back to square one in a couple of weeks. -

It was a terrible game! -
It was still a largely poor performance. What I will say, is what I accused them of against Boro they did, stuck some balls into the box and won the game….. But, it comes against a team in terrible form. The majority of the game we were second best, still the same terrible attempt to play, missed place passes all over the place and a complete lack of attacking threat. I’m putting it down to the players taking the initiative themselves….. Its more than likely spared Marti getting the sack, but it was a particularly weak Norwich side….. we will now spend another international break inflicting more damage, and will likely get beaten by Stoke when we’re back. Today’s result should be disregarded due to the opponent, the performance was still majorly concerning and we were still very poor for large periods of the game. He should be dismissed in my opinion…. One result shouldn’t change this.
-
He’s excellent. Used properly he could be even better. Reminds me of Muzzy mixed with KDH. Really like him.
-
He still needs to go. Everything hasn’t changed just because James has nodded one in against a team that are getting stuffed more than one of Delia’s Christmas turkeys! All the same issues are still there, we just happened to play a team who are genuinely worse than us, yet somehow looked slightly better for most of the game……..

Papering over the cracks, just about beating a properly crap team, and looked fairly poor for most of the game. Marti should still be sacked in my opinion, still trying to go about a way that isn’t working. Essentially two tramps fighting over a bag of chips. -

Still needs to go.
-
Inability to beat a team that’s lost 7 home games in a row…… gone.
-
Goal aside, it’s been shit again.

I agree with you, him changing the formation, but playing the same way isn’t changing anything…. He needs to try something completely different. There’s some proper dross in this league that are able to do fairly well playing fairly simple football. We were getting away with it at the start of the season, now we’re not. I don’t really blame Marti, because he’s been hired to play a certain way, and we know his thanks to Enzo revealing what Top said to him. But it’s like hiring a Plumber to specifically lay your carpets…. Marti will carry on trying to play his way, even if it doesn’t work, nothing will magically change, and we will just continue to get worse until he eventually leaves. This squad is at the stage where need needs a bit more of a old school touch dare I say, and someone who can get it playing in a way that benefits their skill sets, and makes up more of a threat.
-
He needs to stop trying to play football. He needs to go back to basics again and look to place more emphasis on transitional football. He needs to think about putting in grafters….. Skipp to some extent falls into that category, but he lacks grit, he works hard and covers the grass but that’s about it. I’ve said it before as undesirable as it sounds, sticking Hamza in midfield to be a destroyer, be aggressive and give us a bit of something nasty is probably what we need at the moment. Unfortunately we simply can’t play how Marti wants us to, regardless of how poor we are at the moment, there’s enough experience and ability to play in a different way….. The real example was on Tuesday. Boro just spent the last 10-15 minutes smashing balls into the channels and getting balls into the penalty area, and lo and behold, we crumbled and conceded. We try to carry on plodding along, slowly ambling around the pitch and failing to keep control of the ball, and failing to even counter when it’s on. That is a tactical thing, not so much a personnel thing.
-
Then he needs to change his way of playing to suit the players he has…. Which he isn’t doing, he’s just carrying on trying to play how we wants with players who can’t perform……
-
Got to be curtains today? Surely?
-
1-0 Norwich. Thomas will make a mistake and pass the ball to Sargent who will score. We will then proceed to pass the ball between our defenders for the rest of the game and ultimately lose, probably not having a shot on target or creating any meaningful chances.

Don’t do it to yourself…..
